  • can some one explain to me how this thing works exactly because i am making it for my school science fair

  • @TheFingerboard21 just google basic electric motor you should find something, or look it up on wikipedia.

  • If you'll note however, it appears to have a lower audible frequency, which typically means it's not going as fast.

  • @Soitisisit Of course that may just be my speakers buzzing not sound from the video.

  • cool i never seen these before have no idea how i found your videos but subbed through the magic that is youtube.

  • I work in a place that sell massive car batterys, I should try that with this xDD!

  • how long does it take for this little fucker to use up that battery?

  • @foozy12 Yea when the battery drains this dies, yes?

  • Cool ! but what is the straight wire segment in the middle of the coil for ? stability / stiffness? guess you don't need it as part of the coil for electromagnetic interaction, right?

  • @ganetube

Right, its just for looks. was trying different things.

  • and how is this useful?

  • @Renegade0ptics

Its more of a science toy than anything. to make stuff that works well is really fun.

  • BURN THIS WICHH !!!!!

  • really impressive

  • I really like the idea but-

what sort of use can this give ?

  • What is setting on top of the battery?

  • @julie11351

Its a magnet, from a floating pen set.

  • Very cool!

  • That's a great bunch of info on the variables that make up the outcome. Thanks for the video and the data - curious to hear the run time if you have a chance.

  • Any test on how long it will run if you just let it keep going?

  • @Sarakahn

I'l try to find out for you. I think you can work it out by measuring the resistance of the wire, and devide it by the amp hours of the battery. A C cell has about 9.5 amp hours. I'm not sure of the resistance of the wire yet, and any inefficiencies that will be in play, like poor contacts or unbalanced coil. Heat in the battery can play a big part aswell. The battery gets quite warm, and that can realy effect the perofmance.
