as a member of AUF is it wonderful to see and feel all th support from all over the world. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that it really means to world to us.
I just wanted to say, that my heart really breaks everytime I think of this tradgey, and watching the King, Prime Minister and Eskil Pedersen the AUF leader the few days following July 22nd, still makes me cry. They are really wonderful leaders, and we´re lucky to have them. For the lost ones, we miss you, Watch over us.
I wish to extend my condolences to a peace loving country NORWAY, The Norwegians are kind and caring people and were the first to offer concolences on 9-11 unlike other countries and they have visited Ground Zero several times. We American's at least most of us wept and felt Norways loss. I was especially touched after having visited Norway early in July, God Bless Norway and all those who were so personally touched by this tragedy.
Don't you think we Norwegians over reacted maybe a little bit? I mean, we think we are the best and greatest country in the world, like a wannabe USA, but in real life we are a country shaped like a spoon, with people wearing old fashion clothes and wooden shoes, living in an old wooden house by a fjord. And that's really it. Most countries don't know about us, and what happend happens EVERY FUCKING DAY in other countries. But do we give a fuck? No.
No you did not over react. The fact that tragic events happen every day all over the world does not detract from the horrific loss of so many fine idealistic mostly young people at the hand of a warped lunatic.
You are far to harsh about your country.I first visited Norway when I was not much younger than some of the young people who died.I loved it then and loved it when I visted again in March this year .I hope we all remember
@BREMENMURRAY Yeah, 70 or something young people. You know how many CHILDREN die EVERY DAY in other countries? We don't give a fuck about them, and those are more than 70. It happens ALL the time in other countries, but when it happens in Norway after a million years of nothing happening at all, we act like it's never happend to anyone before. You may think Norway is beautiful and all that after visiting the country, but it's something different to live here.
@MacGyver920 Norway is one of the most generous countries donating a comparatively high proportion of GDP to overseas aid. This indicates at least some Norwegians care about children in other countries.
@MacGyver920 I think you go way to far when you say that ALL of the norwegian inhabitans think and believe like you. Maybe YOU live next to a little fjord, but then, you are one of the few people who actually does. ;) Most of the inhabitants in Norway are not old fashion. We are actually quite up to date with, ehm, everything we do...
@Melkerullen Let me get this straight. Norway is a wannabe USA because the goverment wants to copy everything the US is doing. I'm not saying that YOU are the reason Norway is a wannabe USA, even though most Norwegians, especially teenagers, are all obsessed with the US. The Americans think most Europeans hate the US, even though that's completely bullshit. But some Europeans are stupid enough to think that ALL Americans are fat and stupid, so you kid, have no rights to sat anything. Grow up.
@Melkerullen The most stupid thing people say to Americans, is that they are ALL fat and stupid. If you believe something like that, you're a big piece of donkey shit, cause that's like believing that the moon is made of cheese.
@MacGyver920 Norway wannabe USA? are you kidding me? Look at our politics, the way we run our country.. we do NOT want to be america. We are not obsessed with the USA- it´s a wonderful, but like with every other country it has it flaws. That said, this is a memorial video and I woul appreciate that you leave these bullshit comments someplace else...
@14komma2 I said that more people got killed during a football match in Egypt. But yeah, the people in my class, always complain about how much they hate Norway and how much better the US is. Seriously.
I think wearing lusekofte is cool and bunads are beautiful. And for the record people are willing to spend heaps of money just to get a glimpse of the Norwegian fjords. That’s how awesome they are.
We are definitely not a wanna-be USA. No death penalty, free education and health care etc. In what ways are we aspiring to be like USA?
If anything you sound like the wanna-be American since you don’t appreciate the fjords/traditional clothing/wooden houses.
Also people abroad generally know quite a bit about Norway given our size, from salmon, fjords, nobel peace prizes, oil and our generosity to poor countries.
Your size is not a hindrance from being known or heard. Just think about what a mosquito can accomplish when you try to sleep.
The condolances from all over the world speak for themselves.
@shanghaiedsigrid Only condolancec from close by countries here in Europe. Barack Obama was too busy with the financial crisis, so we Norwegians MADE UP a quote, which we claimed Obama had said. That shows how stupid we are.
We got condolances from countries ranging from Vietnam, and Kenya to China (despite their anger due to the Nobel prize) so your claim is wrong.
And yes, Norwegians do care about people dying elsewhere in the world. That's why we are one of the very few countries who honour our word when it comes to giving 1% of our GDP as aid, and cancelling all debt incurred through aid for the poorest countries.
@MacGyver920 Before u make a statement, u should know what u are talking about. When 77 people are murdered by one man, it is a big deal. Small or big country. And to say that so almost no one cares or knows about norway is totally wrong. Norway received condolences and sympathy from all over the world
Look up International reactions to the 2011 Norway attacks on wikipedia for example, and get some knowledge about this matter
@fetsen1 In fairness to Oslo Cathedral it is an times of great national tragedy that churches in most countries come to the fore providing comfort and support to the whole community church attenders or not .Perhaps the taking of a collection can be forgiven and lets remember this magnificent mass which was so moving even to non Norwegian speakers
