Thanks for uploading this one! I agree with the tempo, I have looked for hours to find this version, which I much prefer in opposite to the "newer" "jazz" "clean" versions. Kind regards!
Beg pardon: by this time, "Hit of the Week" records were selling for 20 cents, THAT'S how tough the Depression was on Durium Products, and why they abandoned the label a month after this was released...
This was the next-to-last release in the "Hit of the Week" series, recorded in June 1932, and issued the week of June 16th; even though they were offering an "extended play" record during 1931-'32 (with TWO songs on a single side) for 15 cents, sales of ALL phonograph records suffered during the Great Depression, and financial problems forced Durium Products to discontinue the label in July '32. Phil Spitalny did not create his famous "All-Girl Orchestra" until 1934, 'dap'.
A true early 20s classic! Thanks for posting.! Great arrangement. At your news stands next Thursday! lol Great odd ball label! I heard that when you bought a new Hit of the Week, you had to punch out the perforated center hole to put on a turntable. Can anyone confirm this?
i remeber hearing lullaby of the leaves in an old cartoon.. it was pretty sppooky i think i mightve shat myself.. i dont have any HOW's but if i got one i would deffinately want this one!!

Hi, can you give us the number of the record so that we can look it up in the Hit Of The Week Database?

One of Paul McCartney's favourite songs. Actually in here you can hear an influence on his "Honey Pie" from the "White Album". Cheers!
