  • oh my god man i never realized how big the difference was with a v6 and v8

  • @Thatneonguy ya thats why the z28s from 98-02 have 305 hp and 325 ft lbs stock but good try and they will run to the end of that tach all day and night

  • looks like you need some gas buddy

  • just reading some of the comments people are retarded if they don't think this is legit, ive got a 98 z28 and these things fuckin rip even bone stock

  • lol its funny how bad people UnderRate LS1 Camaro :P rated at 310 hp from factory my ass :P or i just own a factory freak :D

  • @MultiRaidman

    I love under-rated vehicles.

  • lmao fake ass video. stock z28's don't pull that hard at all. in your dreams. need more than exhaust to do that. also need to be breaking the 300hp mark

  • @Thatneonguy

    Yep.

  • bullshit this is stock

  • @03silvermustang

stock except for Hooker Cat-back exhaust

  • @projectexpedite wow i was watching another one and it took 13 seconds from 110 to 140. yours only takes 7-8 seconds.

  • I had a 2002 Z-28 auto...fuk that car was super Fast!! i miss that old hot rod..Top Speed..press play lol

  • lol this is not stock, believe me I own one!

  • @TheNak88

stock except for Hooker Cat-back exhaust

  • name one ford motor thats superior to LSx 's. take your time. GM for the win.

  • First of all, this Camaro was not stock. He mentioned that he had headers, that adds a lot to your top end pull.

Secondly, I think he was going down a hill by how fast he picked up speed.

  • Damn! No joke that would fuck my 5.0 up! Mustang is sexier though. Reason I said that is because I raced an older z28 today and damn that shit was real fast! Fuck camaros tho they just gay

  • @TheNiqqers

Yep, camaro's are "just gay". (sarcasm)

  • @TheNiqqers sorry, mustangs sound cool and sometimes look good, especially 90-93's, but camaro looks/performs better hands down.

  • THAT. WAS. AWESOME.

  • Yea I just got my 02 z28 and shit their fucking fast. Ls1 power!!!

  • it gets scary when i get up there on my camaro.. fun but scary!!! just hope nobody gets in front of you when your going that fast..

  • Is it bad on the car to do this if it is stock?

  • @masonrox2547

    Yes.

  • @projectexpedite What can go wrong? I'm just wondering, dose the engine get to hot?

  • @masonrox2547

Things can go wrong even when you're taking very good care of your car.

  • @masonrox2547 the high revs can cause problems in the valvetrain. the rotating assembly of the ls1 can take 6000rpm all day without any problems if its well taken care of, but theres always a chance that something will go wrong

  • @pepene93 Thanks for the reply.

  • @masonrox2547 Yeah, I have this camaro. I remember when my camaro was stock and yeah was like in this video... now I have bolts on cam stall and 4.10 axle and twin turbo, 7psi to 11 at moment because the pistons are stock... and its amazing I will make a video, believe me is fast as fuck. My tune is hp tuner

  • @manuelagrasrodriguez Dude thats fucking sick! So when you had the stock z/28 could you still drive it hard?

  • @masonrox2547 The camaro in this video is stock... you can see the rev at 155 camaro stock run a more than 165 mph

  • @projectexpedite fuck that shit man... Keep tearing the road up and put up some more videos.. You got balls

  • @Muffstuffer008

You tear up your car in the process of tearing up that road one way or another. In my case....mechanically, other people usually.....physically.

  • hey I just bought my 02 camaro 35th edition....im not sure which gear I should use when on freeway around 55 to 85 speed ?

  • @yousuck48212

    6th....Save the gas. lol

  • @yousuck48212 well i can tell you that at 55 mph in 6th you'll be just over a thousand RPM and thats almost ideal, but thats also borderline lugging. now at 85 your probably gonna be at 1900 RPM or so... also pretty good.

  • Holy shit I can't believe your still alive.. Must have been an empty back road or something.. Good shit though bro

  • @Muffstuffer008

No where near empty. Expressway passing up cars. Totally reckless =(

Cant be doing that anymore. Good thing I learned from my mistakes before someone was hurt.

  • Why do alot of people do top speed runs on a empty tank

  • @cdude100

    1. It still has 2+ gallons left.

    2. The car weighs less? lol

  • @projectexpedite it has about 2 gallons left that's it i know this because i have one

  • @cdude100

    Yeah, you're right. About two.

  • .nice vid/woulda been a cooler video if u woulda showed the road for a sec after u hitt 155mph tho. . **GOTTA LUV CHEVY**

  • @Everett901

You know whats funny is that when I made this video I had my GoPro suction cup camera for the road and I forgot to press record. Thats the same camera I used in my Camaro Donut video I have posted here on this youtube account with the top of the roof view facing down outside view. I was so angry when I found out it wasn't recording after I did that.

  • The Z28 and SS both got 3.23 differentials if you have an automatic. I have a 2002 Automatic SS, and the top speed acceleration is amazing.

  • Wait! So theres Another GEAR, after 135 MPH?!? Is that an OverDrive Gear, or What?!?!?

    I Have a 2000 Z28, and I've never had it that High!! :^P

  • @21cElectronicsMaster

    1st gear = 0-40+

    2nd gear =40-80+

    3rd gear =80-130+

    4th gear =OD=Over Drive= 130 till XXX

I hit the 162 governor before. My tires are Z rated from the factory and so the governor kicks in at 162 mph on my car. Car could probably go quite a bit higher.

  • @projectexpedite Really?? And that's the A4 Automatic??

I know that with Normal Driving, OD Kicks-in at around 45 MPH.... And if you drive on the Highways enough, you'll notice that there is this 'Phantom' Gear that Shift at around 70+, lowing the RPM's from about 2000 to 1800...

It's Nice to have a Car, that doesn't Technically stay at 2000 RPM, until about 80 MPH, though... ;^D

  • @21cElectronicsMaster im not super big on chevrolet cars or anything but this phantom gear you speak of might be a lockup torque converter. im not so sure but that would be my guess.

  • @87DodgeD150 Ummm..... No, the RPMs drop at around 80-85 MPH, like it shifts into another gear. My Torque Converter doesn't lock-up. However, the Lower Gears shift abit stiff, and always have since it was New. ;^P

  • @projectexpedite And your all Stock?!?

  • Boomer, baby!

  • No balls...

  • @Toadphillips

    Okay.

  • @Toadphillips U drive a fuckin escort, suck a dick.

  • A manual 2011 Mustang 5.0 does 120-150 in 10 seconds. watch?=F7hmMnjRSC4 , from 0:12 to 0:22.

An Auto 2002 Camaro Z28 does 120-150 in 8 seconds. This video, from 0:13 to 0:21.

Mustang 5.0 faster Camaro? haha, right.

  • @AmirGTR win

  • @AmirGTR is this era Z28 faster than the new Camaro SS?

  • @MangoSmoothie16 Not in the quarter mile, the new Camaro has better traction and a lot more horsepower. But the LS1 Camaros were much lighter so with mods, they could be much faster than the new Camaro.

The new Camaro also accelerates harder than the 5.0 after 100mph, but probably not as much as the older one, because it's heavier and the aerodynamic is not nearly as good.

  • @AmirGTR Yeah, I like these LS1's alot. I think I'd go for a C5 vette or a 944 LS1 swap though. I still think its great how older camaros beat new stangs XD

  • @MangoSmoothie16 I'm thinking of getting either a C5 or a Trans Am...LS1 is the shit man.

  • @AmirGTR WS6's are monsters

  • @MangoSmoothie16 They're fucking sexy. I want one so bad...

  • @AmirGTR I have 2001 camaro ls1 with a 3.73 gear posi, auto with lid mass sens tall tires, I run 110 to 155 in 8 sec

  • @quatermain98526 how am i wrong in your statement is the same hp for both models as in your statement......so what are you talking about i know im right i've own both camaro's and both has the size of the engine's and hp in both camaro's i've owned so what point are you trying to make when i have paper from gm still from my origional purchases....

  • Why are the service engine lights always on in every video of these cars?

  • @citrus891 That's a Damn good Question!!

I've got a 2000 Z28 with 66k Miles on it, and NO engine light on!! I'm thinking that some of these Guys have Modified there Cars, but not all. I'm thinking that Some have Road-Rockeded the Car, and they DO need the Engine Serviced. On the Other Hand, you have SOME of these Car's actually Modified, and the Engine Light comes on in these cases, where they Moded the Engine for Power, but they didn't change anything with the ECU. So, the ECU thinks it's Wrong

  • @21cElectronicsMaster

There are about 200 parameters the Camaro computer looks at in order to set a trouble code. They can all be recorded, and deleted with HPTuners software. It's an addictive hobby.

  • This is why this is my dream car. A stock auto does this. Then when i get my 2002 Camaro, I'll be the happiest 16 year old on the planet. :)

  • @SilverDeathSword.....the z28 has 285 hp stock the last year they made camaro's in 2002 so its not slow at all.......reason i know the hp is cause my last car i owned was an ss camaro and the reason i went with it was because it has the small block v8 and trust me no need to mod it unless you like speeding tickets.......i got ride of it cause i got tired of cops pulling me over and giving me warnings cause they just wanted to look at my car.......you will get pulled over alot!!! just a warning

  • @pye0123456789: Where are you getting 285 horsepower? The '01 and '02s were rated at 310 hp, and dynoed higher than that.

  • @pye0123456789 Dude you're retarded. The 1996-1997 Camaro SS and Z28 made 285HP. In 1998 the introduced the LS1, which made 305HP, by 2001 they added the LS6 intake, bumping the Z28 to 310 and the SS to 315HP. As for being fast enough? The LT1 is not that fast stock by modern standards, the LS1 does okay...but minor mods help keep up with new V8's easily. And you get pulled over so cops look at your car? LOL! You're an idiot.

  • @iis4n3 it is governed at 108mph and it is very very slow unless you mod it......0-60 in 9 seconds with 190 hp........my grand am gt with a smaller engine and 20 less hp goes 0-60 in 7.5 seconds stock....so if your going to buy a Camaro go with z28 or SS. Z28 has 285hp and SS has 325hp bone stock

  • @pye0123456789 i figured the Z28 would have alot more HP

  • @pye0123456789 Wrong, wrong wrong. The 1996-1997 Camaro Z28 had 285HP, the SS was rated at 300. In 1998 the replaced it with the LS1 engine, 305HP for the Z28, 320 for the SS. In 2001 they added the LS6 intake, 310HP for the Z28, 325HP for the SS.

  • @Quatermain98526 You're only stating GM's underrated numbers. These cars were 350 hp stock...

  • @YouSoundButtHurt Wrong, run the dyno on these cars. They were about 330, even though GM said 310 and 325 for the Z28 and SS.

  • @Quatermain98526 how am i wrong in your statement is the same hp for both models as in your statement......so what are you talking about i know im right i've own both camaro's and both has the size of the engine's and hp in both camaro's i've owned so what point are you trying to make when i have paper from gm still from my origional purchases...

  • @pye0123456789 The LS1 is rated by GM as 310HP in the '01/'02 Z28's and 325 in the '01/'02 SS's. The LS1 in the Corvette had different heads and a more aggressive tune than the LS1 in the Camaro/Firebird.

However, GM did underrate the LS1 in the Camaro /Firebird. It's around 330HP, but not 350 like the Corvette's LS1.

  • @Quatermain98526 I'm not wrong and you know it. One of these cars on a dyno putting out 300+ hp is pretty much 340 - 350 crank.

  • does anyone know the v6 top speed?

  • @iis4n3 With the governor removed, the 2002 Firebird/Camaro L36 3800 V6 with 200HP and 225 lb/ft of torque is capable of a top speed of 137MPH. How long it takes to get there? I'm not sure.

  • That was fuckin quick for being a auto and stock!!

  • @m69ortiz

    Thanks. I agree.

  • @m69ortiz I have the same car stock and auto, and yeah man is very fast..

  • Wimp shit. Go standard or go home.

  • @pimpctraeswangin get that macho shit out of here, rice boy.

  • @Stangorino281 Macho ? Rice ? If you can't shift ANYTHING, that includes american rides, you're just a wimp. They all do come standard. If it drives for you, you're just a woman. Fuck over it.

  • @pimpctraeswangin youre not a car guy. youre just some guy who wants to believe hes a bigger man because he drives a stick. it doesnt make you a bigger man, it makes you a fucking pussy for driving it for mentality reasons you got from fast and furious.

  • @Stangorino281 Just cuz you don't know how to drive, dipshit.

Camaros Corvettes stangs all that shit are standard, obviously. It's not all about auto. Because I DRIVE mines, you think I'm a fucking chink ?

M-!-A-Y0 3-0H-5. Come thru and get wrecked.

  • @pimpctraeswangin i do know how to drive manual, so cut the macho bullshit and stop making personal attacks towards everyone with automatic. i didnt say youre a gook. want to know what you are? youre a wigger, a pussy, a phony, a waste of life, a fanboy, and a twelve year old cock sucker, and youre ignorant, insecure, conceited, and blindly attacking something you only know about from mentality. i have no idea who the fuck you think you are, but i know that youre a fucking piece of shit maggot.

  • @Stangorino281 Type hard. I already told you where I stay. I'm waiting.

  • Comment removed

  • @pimpctraeswangin I ain't no midget with purple spiked hair. Yeh, go & fit in with the innanet. Fucking wimp diss language.

I actually come from the 80s. The fuck are you ? 90s ? lol. Delete your shit, too, go shoot me a message, as the uploader here probably hit the roof

  • @pimpctraeswangin

My first ride was a 5 speed manual that I drove for over two years. They are all good.

  • dats wuds uhp i got a 89 rs camaro go check it out the name of the video is 1989 rs camaro pimpin

  • What kind of gas milage do the automatic z28s get cause I'm thinking of getting one soon but am worried about rising gas prices

  • @Supersportmonte5

I have had 27.5 mpg highway using cruise control but average around 24mpg without babying it. City is another story, anywhere from 13-17 mpg city for me.

  • @Supersportmonte5 mine gets about 21 mpg if i dont floor it all the time, which is hard to resist doing. The new exhaust actually improved my mpg, but the dyno tune and different gear kills it if you run it above 3000rpms.

  • love the ls1s thats quick for a stock!! check mine out! tell me what u think of it

  • Why is your engien light on? because of the Cat back exhaust? Or?

  • @TorqueMachine

It's off now. It was because of the oxygen sensor. :-]

  • Your Fucken crazy

  • @nevergobroke559

    A little bit.

  • @projectexpedite i wish everyone in my city drove like this, i fkin love going fast lol. anytime anyone revs at me ill race them, even if i know ill lose. *Addrenaline addict)

  • @stoone113

If everyone drove like that then our hospitals would be over filled.

  • @projectexpedite

but it would be fun until then :)

  • @stoone113

    Point taken. lol

  • That's just with a stall and a catback exhaust? Wow. Also, I think I saw the gas gauge drop a little. Lol

  • @Quatermain98526

Yep stall, exhaust, and a SLP intake kit pretty much. I'd like another 40-50 hp with this car and then I think i'd be pretty happy with it performance wise.

  • @projectexpedite If you add 40-50HP to an LS1 that would be enough to keep up with and possibly narrowly edge out the new 2010 Camaro. They really aren't too much quicker than the LS1.

  • @Quatermain98526

I think thats somewhat my plan. I would like to run mid 12's and i'd be okay with that for a while.

  • @projectexpedite Headers, cam and tune. You would easily be in low 12's. My 2000 SS has ported stock heads, cam, fast 90 intake and full exhaust and runs mid-upper 11's. Can't beat the LS1.

  • @projectexpedite ---Do like I did put a ls6 cam ,ls6 heads , ls6 intake I picked up a whole second faster than I was with ,underdrive pully 3.42's ,,stock exhaust (((until tomorrowI'm putting my headers on))) it runs 12.40's easy So I can't wait to put the long tubes on.

  • @Quatermain98526 An auto maybe, But a T56/LS1 wont even need that. A stock 6spd SS with sticky drag radials can run very high 12s, but will be about 5-6mph lower on the traps, as the camaros are said to be in the 13flat range @ 111 or so mph. An ls6 intake along with CAI and Exh. will take care of the difference in the traps and make a 6 spd ls1 faster than a 2010 SS, and for an Auto/LS1 make it about even with a 2010 ss.

  • @circlelt1

How about a roll race from 20 mph and a roll from 50 mph?

I like rolls from those speed in my car because I don't have to deal too much with laying rubber behind.

  • @projectexpedite Well an auto/LS1 will trap 103-104, to the 2010's 111. The mods i mentioned below should close that gap, and a trap speed is usually a good idea of how fast a car is from a roll. The problem racing a 2010 SS from a roll is, it will do better than a stop, traction is why in many tests they were stuck at 13flat with a trap that should be a mid-low 12sec speed. I say do those 3 mods with a 3k verter and a pair of d/r's and race from a dig and you should win in the 1/4 fairly easy.

  • looks like a geared car with the speedo still off which explaines the high mph, meaning if you go from 2.73 gears normal for a automatic Z28 to 3.42's if your speedo is not adjusted it will without a doubt show a higher MPH. Why is the SES light on which wouldnt have anything to do with gearing but curious. Not trying to bash on the vid but want to get more specifics

  • @karpetcm

Hello. As far as gearing, it has the GU5 factory package which is 3.23 .

I think I mentioned also before somewhere that my transmission was acting really funny. Soon after it pretty much broke and I lost 3rd and 4th (OD). SES was because of the o2 sensor which I currently don't have a problem with. A a slight bit of downhill? Check out my other video 55-162 mph that is on this account after I got a Finish Line trans level 3 with a 3200 stall from yank installed.

  • wooww

  • Wtf....

  • @AmirGTR

    Huh?

  • @projectexpedite Dude...what the fuck...this thing is quick...

  • @AmirGTR

    Thank you? lol

  • i See Nothing Fake about this Video....

    Very Cool Video.

  • @form109

Thank you very much. I don't understand some people sometimes saying this is fake like I have something to gain if I were to upload fake videos.

  • you can hear him downshift and you can see him drive under a bridge or overpass.

  • @94z28derk

These guys seem to think I would gain something if I were to put up fake videos. I think that is just silly.

  • This video is so fake lol.....the car didn;t even downshift to 2nd gear....you sped up the video you fuckin asshat.

  • @VerzGP

Yep. Thats clearly what I did. I did that for all my videos because I really do gain something when I put up fake videos. (Sarcasm)

  • @projectexpedite You retard...You went from 80 to 110 in 4 seconds flat....stock LS1's don;t move that fast moron...and i just watched a modded 2002 SS that put down 444 rwhp go from 80 to 110 in 5.5 seconds...and you're telling me this video is real???

  • @VerzGP

I do not appreciate you calling me a retard but I am not going to go ahead and join in on the name calling as that wouldn't accomplish anything. I would like to point out that I have the original uncut video up on youtube on this account even called "Camaro all around video with older video" and you could check it out if you think this video is not real.

  • @projectexpedite

And I would also like to point out that in an older post in these comments I have stated that perhaps this was a little bit downhill. I hope that clears any confusion and I hope you understand. Also it didn't downshift because my transmission was a bit messed up at that point and a few weeks later I had to have it rebuilt. Proof of this is that my newer videos include the modification of my 3200 yank stall and finish line transmission level 3. Thanks.

  • Projectexpedite i have a question, i also have a 2002 Camaro Z28 Auto. whats the difference between Overdrive and the drive under it besides the lower rpms when cruising on the highway?

  • @ModMob

Drive will allow it to go from 1st to 3rd.

Overdrive will allow it to go from 1st to 4th.

I recommend just leaving it in overdrive as the computer usually does pretty well when it comes to gear selection and you could gain some when it comes to MPG's.

  • @projectexpedite my Dads mechanic said Drive is good for the highway and you would get better MPG's with it in drive in the city

  • @ModMob

Dang, I would like to know the reasoning behind that. By that reasoning.... the less gears the better the mpgs..... lol.

  • @projectexpedite so than its true? ahaha sorry about all these questions, im just curious about it

  • @ModMob

I have to say from all my knowledge, Overdrive will give you the best mpg's and I have to disagree with your mechanic. Either you heard wrong or he's not understanding. Mechanics make mistakes, trust me I know because my Camaro's been in the shop for the past 6 months and its going to be done tomorrow.

  • @projectexpedite Okay, thanks alot man. whats it been in the shop for?

  • @ModMob

Engine problems. New pistons, pushroms, rocker arms, timing chain, water pump, camshaft something, etc. Don't beat on your car for 15,000 miles like I did. There wasn't a day I didn't go 100mph + in a 30/35 zone like a idiot. Much too reckless.

  • @projectexpedite oh wow, lol. i generally go the speed limit unless someone wants to try and race me

  • @ModMob

I learned a little bit from my mistakes. Or atleast I like to think I did...

  • @projectexpedite lead foot, it will get you every time

  • @ModMob

Finally got my Camaro back. Gotta break it in and then see what happens when I go up against a stock/stockish 2003 cobra soon. Hope I get it on video nice and stuff. A little risky because of all the P0lice cracking down around here tho.

  • @projectexpedite well, you should drive like 10-15min away and race him.. and yeah get a video i wanna see this :D

  • @ModMob

I would love to race legally at the track but then I have to find a time we can both go at the same time and then we also have to pay $20-$40 bucks each to get in and blah blah blah. Not to mention it has to be nice weather and we also have to both drive about 1 hour 15 minutes to get there. What a pain..... And cops wonder why people streetrace.

  • @projectexpedite yeah, you are gonna have to drive around where your gonna race and check for the Fuzz

  • That's Good to Know, that an A4 can reach 155MPH without Red-Lining!! ;^)

You couldn't do that with an M6!

  • @DiogNewmen what are you talking about? I've been 155 with stock gearing not even topped out on 5th gear. BTW I have a 99 Camaro SS M6.

  • I have a 02 35th anniversary Ed z28.. Slp hood/ intake only.. Dynoed at 347 hp.. Maybe he's got a " factory freak " like I do.. It will pull that hard.. Mine will leave a ws6 in my dust .. Bet

  • Are these faster than Trans am ws6s?

  • @MarshallTK

    Same engine.

  • @projectexpedite Ya, but apparently the WS6 is faster. I looked up a few comparisons. WS6 is alot faster.

    WS6

    SS

    Z28

    in that order.

  • @MarshallTK

I wouldn't say alot faster, slightly faster. Depends what transmission, what traction, what track, track preparation on that day, weather, and of course.....whose driving.

  • @MarshallTK SS and WS6 are the same thing pretty much and the Z28 has just as much power as both... there all the same thing in simple terms

  • @ryanmtanner Ya, but the WS6 is faster....

i have one and raced my friends Z28 and it wasnt even a race, i kept walking him.

I raced an SS and it kept up neck and neck with me to 135 mph then i started to pull.

  • @MarshallTK its just the driver then. they all have equal HP and have the exact same engine. learn your shit

  • @ryanmtanner No need. Why dont you just own one? Same engine doesnt mean shit. Weight, tranny, Stall, gearing, weight ratio, aero dynamics all comes in to play and much more.

I already told you i own a 2001 WS6, and beat both camaros. Case closed. I even researched to see maybe it was a fluke, no the WS6 is stated to be faster.

Convo over. Stfu. They are slower.

  • @MarshallTK they are the same car. they both weigh the same and have the same dynamics and everything. a 6 speed camaro equals a WS6

  • @ryanmtanner omg? ok..... maybe im not being clear.

MY 2001 TRANS AM WS6, STOCK. RACED A Z28 STOCK and A SS (cat-back) BEAT BOTH.

I PULLED ON THE z28 after 70 mph and THE SS STAYED WITH ME to ~130-135 then i started to pull....

Does that explain enough? Now after that i decided well maybe they arnt good drivers, which is bs because they track their cars all the time. SO i looked these cars up and what do i see? Magazines stating that the WS6 is faster.

So, the odds are against the camaro...

  • @MarshallTK the Z28 must of been an auto then

  • runs great man

    Thanks man.

  • just gotta 02 Z-28 and im glad i got that camaro, the 3rd gen camaros look sick on the outside but the interiors look so dated, 2nd gens look ok.. and 1st gens are way outta price range and the 93-97 have the LT1 engine compared to the LS1 in the 98-02 and im just not impressed with the new ones yet and cant afford them anyway, hopefully they make a new Z28 model also. ( this is my opinion...) LS1 camaros all day...

  • LOL he must down a hill.

  • @darkfire8707

Take a look at my other video on this account that is clearly a little uphill and its nearly the same. 55-162 mph video on this account. Tell me what you think.

  • Thats not stock. My 98 Trans am A4 was nowhere near that fast, Neither was was 2005 GTO LS2 w/ 400 hp/400fpt stock.

Cause I have so much to gain with putting something false on the internet. (sarcasm)

But on another note, maybe a tiny bit downhill?
