  • Love Country

  • If you've got five dollars, gimme two and we'll call it even for the five dollars you have owed me for thirty years. That Steak was tough.

  • COUNTRY MUSIC LIVES WITH FARON YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you have five dollars and Chuck Norris has five dollars, Chuck Norris has more money than you.

  • Real Country music indeed how often can you see 2 Great men who helped build that industry in a video like this i'm proud to say that Faron Young and Jim Reeves are both in the Country Music Hall Of Fame long live Faron and Jim.

  • How cool is that, thanks! Yeah, I think that was Jim Reeves sitting behind the lady, too.

  • Love this!!!! Jim Reeves eat your heart out, lol

  • This is a great tune written by Ted Daffan. Tex Ritter recorded it in 1950. Webb Pierce changed the lyrics in 1953 and took it to #1 calling it "Its been so long."

Faron had a top five hit with the original in 1955.

Somebody could probably adapt the tune to modern lyrics today and have a top hit.

  • Excellent!

  • hey! - look up the western aces drunkmans boogie

they go hey! just like this. Hey!

  • What a shame someone with that much talent would kill himself.

  • He had a good life and left great tunes.

  • You just can't find country singing from the heart like that anymore. What an awesome performer. 5*****

  • I do believe that is Jim Reeves you see briefly in the foreground, and the man in the checkered pants who dances (the checkered pants and apron were probably a nod to Purina, the sponsor) is Clell "Cousin Jody" Summey, a dobro legend and if i remember correctly also a cohort of Lonzo and Oscar

  • @jawaha75243 Yeah, I noticed Jim Reeves, too, Jawaha. And if it WASN'T Jim Reeves, well, it must have been his long-lost twin! It certainly LOOKED like him. I think you're right.

  • @rorysparrow1 I think you're right. Had to be.

  • This is 1955 on the Purina Grand Ole Opry show .... which was broadcast on Saturday nights, I believe.

  • Faron is one of the all time best!!

  • Jim Reeves in the foreground. Love both Faron & Jim.

  • So wonderful!!!!Faron at his best

    Thank you

  • i got five on it

  • he reminds me of someone but i just cant remember who

  • He sounds like a mix of webb pierce and hank williams

  • You are right on with that!

  • Yeah, he definitely incorporated different genres. He had that "Live fast" style at one point, but he also borrowed from Hank, Lefty & Webb. This song actually uses the melody from Webb Pierce's "It's been so long."

  • Actually both Faron and Ray Price were friends of Hank Williams Sr after his breakup with Audrey. Ray and Hank were roommates, or lived in the same house, and I believe Faron introduced Hank to his second wife Billie Jean According to a story Faron told in an interview He and Hank were double dating two girls, and Billie was Faron's date, but Hank stuck a gun in his face while they were in the restroom and "persuaded" him to trade dates

  • wow thats cool but i would stick the gun to the other guys face

  • Great!

  • does it get any better?

  • The dark haired guy at the right front at :15 is Jim Reeves.

  • looks more like don gibson

  • now thats what i call an amazing guitar solo

  • Real Country MUSIC!!!
