the GDP per capita of Greece is over dollars 20,000 dollars per people, while in Romania it's only 11,000 or even lower, the economy of Greece is bigger 2 times than ours, but still.. those Greeks brothers know how to make a real protest and to fight for their rights, if this things that happened in Romania would happened in Greece (salary drop of 25%, pension drop by 15% just like that out of nowhere, because those pathetic politician scumbags are incompetents) they would bring ANARCHY

Today's protest was stronger than what is shown here. Should have seen the other protest signs, and the things that were said. Fortunately it didn't turn into anything too violent.

The people here in Romania are desperate. Many (especially old people) won't have enough money to live pretty soon. I agree with those who accuse the current government of genocide... what is happening is hallucinating. If the current president does not leave soon, I predict tragic things for this country.

The IMF has already destroyed many Asian economies, their policies are counter-productive and designed to prevent true industrial development in many poor countries.

It's really easy to find a scape goat, but you can't blame the IMF for the countries' own mismanagement. Without international backing Greece would already be bankrupt today. And the Greek government, it's elected by the people. So who is responsible for them? The IMF?

I'm glad the EU has promised to help but you can't expect Germany to just throw money down that hole without provisions.

As for Romania, I'm afraid I don't know enough about their situation to comment.
