I've been to once circus, and I made sure there were no animals involved beforehand. There's just no reason why we should use animals for our own entertainment. It's sick.

Most Zoos Nowadays are more for the saftey and preservation of the species, i have no problems with zoos if they are doing a good job, take monkey world for example, south uk! they are devoted to saving captured chimps etc from other countries, that have spent 2-3years in a 4ft x 4ft steel cage performing tricks or just rotting away for the sheer novelty of the human!

@japanigro Your right, that's the purpose modern day zoos have. But the past must not be forgotten, at one of the zoos in my state that has wonderful conservation programs, there are some empty cages that used to be the "homes" of the species they have. These cages now serve as a reminder to the populace of what that zoo used to be like, a freakshow. but today, that zoo is a shining example of nature conservation.

@japanigro Your right, that's why I support modern day zoos, they serve as education. In my closest zoo(which opened in the 70's and was never like a freak show thank goodness) the species live in vast spaces which fit their standards. Plus it has a great conservation and education program there.

@angelaexposito Unfortunately somtimes they do need to be in zoo's or animal parks to stop people killing them for their fur on those poor monkeys for their hands to use as ashtrays, its sickening to think what our race is capable of. I just hope my kids grow up to respect animals and other ways of life the same as i do.

@angelaexposito Isay aslong as they are treated well then ok but if not ppl shudnt own big cats! take longleat their big cats are treated so well they have the freedom of outdoors & natural feeds xD
