They have those same Schindler elevators that you hit the call button on in a couple of the buildings on campus. it says the light is supposed to flash when the call is answered. I thought your "OH CRAP!" was funny

Seismic button is pronounced just like a seismic wave. It's used to shut down the elevator in case of an Earthquake. I think it goes to the closest floor, opens the doors, and shuts down.
