While shooters don't really use the physical aspect that much, they don't use complex strategy either, they seem to stick with sensory and reaction. They just don't utilize the aspects that appeal to the main audience in esports. That's why I humbly believe that shooters are not fitting to esports. No offense to any shooter fans.
I have watched this channel nearly every night for about 7 months and I think that this is an incredibly important video for Husky to share with us. I completely agree with his points on company advertisement at major tournaments and I am glad to have this support for Esports.
2012 is going to be a significant year where companies decide if they want to back this community up or not. Husky is right - stop bashing on other games and please help make this community strong.
I don't see esports being successful now or in the near future, not in this economy. I don't know if it ever will, not COD at least. Maybe Tekken or Starcraft II.
When you think ESPORTS as a job, you have to think of it in a macro level. The fact is if you're a decent football player you can still get $80-100 grand a year. If you are a decent COD player, you are not getting much. ESPORTS is still a tiny bubble in the US at least, and it's not going to get anywhere fast, especially in this economy. Again what are the chances of you getting serious money on ESPORTS, you have to ask yourself that Husky.
Seeing how the esports pick up and get more and more professional just warms my heart. I think this is the future.
There is a foundation dedicated to get a team of robots to win the 2050 World Cup in soccer to a human team. Well I expect esports to get on par with the traditional sports on mainstream channels much sooner than that.

I think the reason why so many people criticize shooting games in esports is because the don't incorporate strategy nearly as much as starcraft, dota, lol, etc. so they arent as fun to watch. The appeal of these games, specifically starcraft, is that they're like a new and more complex version of chess. Cod and other shooters just don't use Strategy that much, especially with the limited first person view. I love starcraft above any other competitive game because the players skills don't lie in

@doompants99 Well maybe i exaggerated but i mean, COD is really fun, like you can play it sometimes but still fully enjoy because this game is made for that : it is not made for pgm but casual gamers. It's not a blame because i like it, i play it but for me there just can't be esport. In sc2 you need alot of practice to be good, but in COD if you play it one year you're pretty good.
I agree 100%. If we got more advertisers throwing their money into the mix, they'd spend less, likely make more, and it makes things better!
As far as being negative towards some games, but way for others, I feel it's more of a they dislike the game, so therefore the game is a terrible game. Call of Duty, Halo, LoL, SC...I don't say...like CoD or Halo all the much..But I also know they're not bad games. They're just not stuff I enjoy. People need to learn to think more that way for Esports.

so forget about that game, there is no current windows build and its difficult to make one ;) and there are kind of similar programms out there, the biggest alone feature is that we use a 3d engine instead of a kind of 2d-engine like the others do, but we did not make much of that advantage till now ;)
But vote for such basic income grant (in germany vote for the pirate party) so we elliminate poorness and homelessness but still keep economic incenitives for getting more money

Supporting ESPORTS too much can kill singleplayer games really.Ever since console got so popular companies try to create hybird games can work both pc and consoles and this resulted mass hackers,mass bugs and mass glitches while companies made alot of money but players wasnt happy at all.Imagine if ESPORTS looks something companies can profit from it would kill other sort of games.BF3 didnt join ESPORT cause game is full of bugs,8 months later they will join with 1,500 000 dolar 1st price reward

CoD, I really don't care either way. Hell, I think competetive Catherine is the best eSport, lol. (it exists, yes, and it is hilarious and it goes to show you can make ANYTHING entertaining) SC will always hold a place in my heart though.

And that is all that ESPN will cover and only Starcraft 2 will be a viable option for holding the banner of PC gaming, there is no way to do all the FPS games on PC anymore, we might see Counter Strike and that'll be it (boring as shit tbh).

It's not a blame because i like it, i play it but for me there just can't be esport. In sc2 you need alot of practice to be good, but in COD if you play it one year you're pretty good.

I agree 100%. If we got more advertisers throwing their money into the mix, they'd spend less, likely make more, and it makes things better!
As far as being negative towards some games, but way for others, I feel it's more of a they dislike the game, so therefore the game is a terrible game. Call of Duty, Halo, LoL, SC...I don't say...like CoD or Halo all the much..But I also know they're not bad games. They're just not stuff I enjoy. People need to learn to think more that way for Esports.

so forget about that game, there is no current windows build and its difficult to make one ;) and there are kind of similar programms out there, the biggest alone feature is that we use a 3d engine instead of a kind of 2d-engine like the others do, but we did not make much of that advantage till now ;)
But vote for such basic income grant (in germany vote for the pirate party) so we elliminate poorness and homelessness but still keep economic incenitives for getting more money
