  • I love how each tv spot gets darker and raises more questions about the movie

  • Um, Avatar was great, but not as great as The Dark Knight

  • Avatar sucks, and The Dark Knight is a masterpiece.

  • This reminds me of been a kid and watching the movie trailers that played before the movie started on VCRs. Each trailer seemed to be a deep voiced guy saying cool things. And, dammit, it worked.

  • EPIC TV SPOT, says so much. 'It's a funny world we live in', so ominous, Joker was scary, Heath Ledger went out on top in this movie

  • avatar and the dark knight are the best movies ever

  • it s a tie to avatar in my opinion

  • @Alex43733 AVATAR SUCKS BLUE MONKEY BALLS!

  • @Mr11MUSICMAN shut up you suck

  • @Alex43733 umadbro?

  • @Mr11MUSICMAN yes i am

  • @Alex43733 CHILLAX BROSKI

  • Best Movie Ever Made way better than Avatar

  • The Dark Knight >>>>>> Avatar

  • i saw a tv spot similar to this one..,,its where the joker is laughing, like this, and it was over a bunch of reviews and the announcer didnt say anything, except for "the dark knight"

  • Wow, they show way too much in the previews.

  • Um... not really.

All of those clips except for one were in the teaser trailer.

  • I think it's "Can he avenge evil, and not become it?" Great line whatever it is. LOL! Just hard to make out that first part.

  • best tv spot ever

  • "Can you avenge evil and not become it?"

    Spine-chilling!!

  • Exactly PhilBag. My favourite TV spot. Very rarely do you get a voiceover line that actually relates to the thesis of the film. (Christ, how many blockbusters make you cry out "What do you believe in?!" cos it's usually nothing at all.)

  • i saw this one on tv before it came out. just came back from a trip to arizona and i watched this in the car. :D

  • That fake laugh at the beginning and "I thought my jokes were bad" are pretty much the only Joker lines I can say and sound somewhat remotely what could be interpreted as a Joker impression.

It works awesome in the trailer though. The laugh over all this chaos and him giving this fakeness, with zero empathy...

  • "Can you avenge evil, and not become it?" Greatest tagline to sum up the plight of Batman. This is my favorite TV spot of the entire marketing campaign. Thanks for posting this!

  • i agree. that tagline is great and follows Batmans quest for peace while walking the fine line between hero and vigilante, while harvey dent crosses every line.

  • Wow...that line is so evil and scary ''Its a funny world we live in''

  • feck me. wish they wouldave release these tvspots over in Aus

  • I agree with njam07.

  • The best movie of all time. And god i love that Joker laugh at the beginning.

    HAAHAAHAAHAAHAHAAHAAHOOHEEHEEHAAAHOOHEEHAAA!!!

  • the best movie ever...i love it and i love all trailers and TV spots....amazing

  • The best movie ever

  • Love the laugh Joker does.

  • Best Tv spot; hell they could have released this alone as a trailer. They show all this crazy destruction, and in the background is this slow, evil, ironic laugh - you get the idea that he only DOES THIS... to laugh...

  • I love it when he laughs xD

  • Thanks for posting!

  • When the Joker comes in laughing it sounds like hes gonna start singing the witchdoctor song lol. Oo ee oo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing *blows up a building* bang! :D

    R.I.P. Heath Ledger!

  • LOL.

This opener was just so evil; that slow hideous laugh to all the killing and destruction, it just sent evil vibes everywhere.

  • I know!! Add to it the evil line afterwards: "It's a funny world we live in." Go Joker!! =)

  • That has to be the best overlong laughing gag ever. And there's been quite a few now.

  • "And I thought my jokes were bad." The first two scenes with the Joker pwned. What am I talking about? All his scenes ruled.

  • What a laugh.

  • the joker stole the show, HANDS DOWN! RIP Heath Ledger...

  • Stole the show? No. Stole his scenes? Absolutely. Everybody owned their individual scenes, and when they were together in scenes, they made it all the more effective. One of the countless things that made this film work wonderfully.

  • I paid 45 Trinidad bucks to see this movie. I have to pay another 45 bucks again. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • Ok so i think this is the best movie i've ever seen wouldnt have been half as good if it wasnt for ledger and his amazing performance. i would've paid just to see him dressed up as the joker and sit in a chair and talk

  • amazing laugh

  • love the laugh

  • Best Entrance hands down for The Joker

  • i couldnt agree more

  • That was a great laugh. I didnt think that would be in the movie when I saw this.

  • yeah...this movie was the best one i have seen in A LONG TIME, i advise anyone who hasn't seen it, to go out and see it, well worth the 9or 10 bucks

  • SPOILER: the joker kills alot of people!

  • Who else loved the "magic trick" scene?

  • Everyone did. That was both captivating and funny!

  • just saw it perfect performance

    possibly movie of the year

  • Of course it's a movie of the year. In fact, its the only movie I liked in about 5 years!!! The last good movie that I've seen was Pirates of the Carribean 1...and then Hollywood filmed just bunch of bullshit. It's a movie of the last several years.

  • while i agree mostly with what you say i have a few exceptions in my opinion

    1. The Departed

    2. No Country for Old Men

    3. Blood Diamond

    4. The Good Shepard

  • I'm also a DiCaprio fan, but Leo's movies are a bit too deep, not really mainstream, although deserve recognition.

The Departed was a fun one to watch. You know, I'd like LEONARDO DiCaprio to try and sub in for Heath....can he pull it off....I doubt it, even though he's one of the best.

  • it would be interesting to see DiCaprio try to pull off the joker..but i'm still not sure if he can pull it off like Heath did..hell..im not sure of anyone that can pull it off as well as he did

  • Of course, it is very hard to replicate that performance, but I'm sure a really good actor like DiCaprio or someone as talanted as Heath can create a similarly exciting version...I hope. The Batman 3 is a must because the movie didn't end on much...it needs a resolution.

  • yeah i hope they make the right choice if they decide to bring back the joker to the next film

  • A lot of people didn't think Heath could pull it off...

  • but heath proved them wrong

  • I agree.I myself thought that Heath was to young for do the Joker. But when i heard the interviews,i trusted him to be a good Joker. And he were.He gave his life for it.

  • ofcourse no one can

    especially not leo dicaprio

  • Hahha Good Shepard

  • god damn I love that laugh at the beginning

  • in the movie he tells the madest stories on how he got his scars

  • And you can't tell if he's serious or not, because he could just be lying like he often does in the movie.

  • so did everyone see mama mia?

  • thats funny

  • elite2547 come look at my joker paintings.

  • hahahahahahhahahahahah oh whoa ha hoptie ha!!!

  • when he does this laugh in the actual movie its soooooo cool

  • "It's a funny world we live in." Praise Heath.

  • HA! Love this ad so fuckin much I find it hilarious (the laugh) and creepy at the same time I can't wait 2 c this movie! HA!

  • this movie is incredible.

    saw it yesterday.

    its awesome being australian.

  • who think the glowing eyes rock

  • I do...probably night vision or something...I dont know why people are hating it so much..they havn't even seen the film...

  • i think that they look fuckin tight

  • i do the white eyes are badass

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hoow he ha ha its afunny world we live in 25 july is when it is realesed in the uk

  • Awesome...cant wait till Friday.

  • Just 2-3 days people. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • i seriously doubt he will laugh like that

  • Oh but he does. SPOILER: It's from the 2nd scene he's in. The different crime bosses are having a meeting about their stolen money and Dent going after them and they talk about needing to get rid of the clown when all of the sudden that laugh starts. It's freaking brilliant, he's like mocking the classic villain laugh. The next thing he does is show off an impressive magic trick that you need to watch closely.

  • the gas from scarecrow

  • Despite the fact that the eyes became white like that in begins during the gas, this time people are saying that it's a form of sonar vision.

  • the fuck what the hell is on his eyes at 0:22

  • This Friday people =D.

  • this is the best TV ad i've seen for this yet. best movie of the summer, no doubt.

  • It IS a funny world we live in

  • the white eyes remind me of the animated series a bit

  • Comics and action figures too. They threw that in for the hard fanboys who wanted the eyes to look like that

  • who is the guy that's doing the trailer? the movie voice over guy. creep laugh, I creamed my pants.

  • Don LaFontain, I think. The 'movie voiceover guy'

  • "How can you avenge evil and not become it?"

GREAT line for a Batman movie.

  • i wonder if he kills those kids on the school bus cause obviously they're not in the school bus when he robs that bank during that 6 minute prolouge. If he does that will definitely shock some people, but I don't think Nolan would go that far even though the Joker is psychotic.

  • who knows? this might just be the most psychotic Joker ever! from what i seen in these trailers i wouldn't be surprised...or he might just kick them off the bus and not kill 'em???

  • I thought the same thing myself. Personally it reminded me of when Joker used Smylex gas on a whole school.

  • Awesome sinister laugh.

  • been looking for this, that laugh is so awesome

  • that laugh is creepy

  • i thought the white eyes looked like crap when i first saw it here on youtube, but than they showed the tv spot during smallvile on thursday, and i have to say that it looks SO much better on tv, they look more like goggles, with a little bit of blue surrounding them, so when you see it here, it doesnt look good but on my tv with obviously better quality, its great, and im sure when we all see the movie, its gonna look great too

  • 'It's a funny world we live in.'

    with this movie? HELL YEAH!

  • i bet that laugh will sound very spooky in IMAX quality.

  • of course we are going to talk about the eyes,it is the best thing in the video because its new.

  • epic laugh

  • THe white eyes are AWESOME!!!

  • I like the white eyes. Although originally the white was just to make him look cool ala The Phantom in recent years it's been introduced that he actually wears lenses, that give him a high tech heads up display as well as infrared, ultraviolet and night-vision.

  • i guess im the only one that thinks the white eyes look bad ass. it reminds me of how batman looked in the animated series.

  • nope i think the white eyes look bad ass too

  • will all of you chill about the eyes just see the movie first then make an opinion

  • true they dont fit that well, but thats what makes it great.

  • at 0:22 thats how batman should look, in begins his first suit looked mean and now its high tech, but whats happens to the first suit i heard it gets ruined as apart of the storyline

  • "hahahahaha, hahahahahahahahaha, o he he ha, ha hoo he ha"...........awesomeness =)

  • iTS A FUNNY WORLD WE LIVE IN HUHIHAHAH

  • Love the joker's slow laugh, really creepy and awesome at the same time

  • Someone had mentioned before that batman w/ white eyes will not show emotions. Batman is NOT suppose to show emotion, thats the whole idea of him scarying the crap out of criminals. I really hope they keep the white eyes or at least mixure of both.

  • Batman only has white eyes when his using his radar.

  • i had always thought that begins was just going to be a prequel to the keaton movies. THen boom, news of the joker 2 years ago. i hope ledger wins an oscar for this.

  • always thought that begins was just going to be a prequel to the keaton movies

^ what gave you that stupid idea? everyone should know these movies arent connected.

  • :22 HOLY SHIT WHITE EYES!

  • Best TV spot yet.

  • To be honest: I wouldn't mind if Batman has mixer of both white lenses and without the lenses to show that he's very advanced and "scary."

  • it sounds like they just slow down his laugh

  • It sounds like the narrator is laughing in the beggining. lol.

  • does he actually do that 15 sec laugh in the movie?

or is it just for the spot?

  • Horrormoviefan02: Thats actually his laugh in the movie.

  • the white eyes are the sonar he has in the enw batsuit...no big deal but super tight

  • I'll evenge evil! but i'll probaly become it since heath ledger playing the joker is so fucking awsome!!!

  • white cartoon eyes like the cartoon and comic

  • pause at 0:22 the rumors are true!!!! Batman is going to have the white eyes like in the comics!! these are sliding white lenses that help enhance his unearthly apperance

  • yes he is gonna have white lenses BUT, according to wikipedia, he is only gonna have the lenses temporarely, the lenses are sonar lenses.

  • his laugh is awesome!!! lol.

  • kinda sounds like vincent price at the end of thriller

  • Is that sorta a spoiler? We see Gordon rushing in with his gun in the other trailer, and here we see that whole room blowing up, and you can see Gordon's arm in the room as the explosion approaches.

  • This is going to be the best movie ever made. Period. End of Discussion.

  • ohh eehh ehhh ahaaa ha oh heh ha

    LOL

  • Such a funny world we live in. XD

  • youtube needs a better class of users...and i'm gonna give it to em

  • You'll see. I'll show ya!

  • At :22, it looks like his eyes are glowing...anyone else see it?

  • the scarecrow appears again so maybe is a weird vision, it remind me the cartoons I cannot wait to see this movie 12 days!!!

  • He using his sonar vision.

  • infa red glasses

  • Oh I love the joker's laugh on this spot.

  • No Iron Man is for the kiddies and The Dark Knight is for mature audiences. Besides Batman fights/locks up gangsters while Iron douche flies around killing terrorists and cracks jokes.

  • batman is not gangsta? you whack bro, you talking about a guy that chooses not to wear the magnet type of thingy that reflect's bullets (from gotham knight) and still hops around at night getting shot at by thugs and works his ass off 24/7 this line says it all: "i'll put my life on the line to do what i have to.. but it has to be mine.. no one else's" tired of ppl still trying to compare ironman to batman.. ironman is nothing without his suit (fyi i like ironman too)

  • Damn, that laughis so evil, especially with all the shit going down at the beginning. Really sets the stage for the escalation of the war in Gotham

  • joker pulled a quagmire at 0:08

  • LMAO

  • the batbike is so cool!!

  • Batpod, get it right or ill keel you.

  • okay okay... lol...

    whats next? skateboard? jet?

  • batman has a jet.. and a skateboard? this aint no silver surfer bro

  • lmao, no kidding.

Joker's laugh at the beginning was perfect.

  • ok its the real batman at 00:22, what kind of fake batman has the $ for night vision?

  • Batman looks badass at 00:22!!

    Just like in comics...

  • imagine hearing that beginning laugh in the middle of the night...freaky bitch

  • your the dumbass, it is Batman with the SONAR LENSES that CHRISTOPHER NOLAN said would have a brief appearance in the film.

  • wah, that laugh is so evil and sadistic. RIP HEATH.

  • Love the white lenses in the cowl. Looks as if The Batman leapt right off of the comic book page!

  • The lenses look badass :D

And the laugh at the beginning by Ledger was freaky :O

  • joker pulled a quagmire at 0:08

  • its all part of the plan.

  • stop bitching about white lenses

  • i love the lenses

  • People commenting that lenses look dumb need to stfu. I mean seriously, you see one quick shot. Wait to see it in the context of the film and not some TV Spot. And for the record I think they look badass.

  • I´m not pretty much convenced about the white lens either. But in Nolan I trust. He will make the lens fit perfectly in the story.

  • i like the lenses, he kind of resembles the batman from the animated series

  • look at the batman at 0:22

  • i love the laugh. ha ha hoo hee ha ha he
