The dreaded Pelican itch ! I grew up in and around Lake Illawarra and too much time in the lake water left you itching for days later - it was supposed to be caused by a mite that lives on Pelicans - whether this is an urban myth I do not know.

@dbootsthediva You could be right there. At the time of filming I didn't notice it. But they had major floods about 3 weeks before this and farm residue / fertilizer etc may have still been evident. Beyond that I don't have an explanation
