On my 2001 Grand Caravan, the radio got to where it would cut off for several weeks then all of a sudden start playing again. Now it just flashes 12:00. All stereo lights do work. I have to replace a clock spring because of an airbag light staying on and the horn not working. Are they related or what do you think it is?
As soon as Amazon sends my cd player my husband is watching this video I have a 01 Caravan Sport and I see youre having trouble with your windows? My passanger is stuck a quarter of the way down, a few days ago the drivers side decided to only work when it felt like it. I dont mind spending money to fix necessary repairs but I REALLY dont want to take it in for something as dumb as the windows if it's something the hubby can do. Do you know what the heck the problem is with these windows :)
Thanks, but since you didn't actually do it I'm not able to follow what you are describing. For some reason I don't even see the set of screws that you are describing that are inside the cup holders. Had I trusted the ehow articles I would have damaged the cup holders because they say to just pull it out without mentioning holding down the clip. I would have ended up assuming the resistance would have been due to pulling metal pins from the dash.
@nojunkorspam I should make a addition to that video. Once you remove the cup holder tray, right above the tray just before the bezel is a piece of abs plastic the color of your interior. you cannot miss it.. what you have to do is either use a flat head screw driver or your fingers and pry it off..Under it will be two phillips head screws....A key reason to why I make some of my videos soo long, is I explain every detail..
I have town and country powered and heated seats in my caravan. I put power to them already to get the seats moving. My question is (so I don't have to take it all apart) is where the switches go on either side of the hazard button is there the wiring harness for those switches? could I just buy the switches from a junk yard and pop them right in for some plug and play goodness?
@PlakoTaco Plug and play is a very good question.. since its a town and country i want to say probably..Alot of things are controled by the BCM ( Body control modul) in that car. the switch's are aswell.. You would have to buy a whole assembly from the junkyard, because if I remember correctly the blank panels, and the hazzard switch and wiper switch are actually all one unit.. if those switches are plug and play you have to have those power seats wired like the factory had it. lmk
is a 2005 and has the factory stereo and now that you mention it stopped working a few seconds after I connect my gps so if you think the problem is a fuse or do I have to open everything to see the problem. thanks for your help
my stereo and TV stopped working last night, my children were watching a movie and repeat is turned off and turned on but not even watch anything. can you tell me if it may be a fuse and where is that I could not find at the top of the fusicles. teno 3 children and I need the TV or me crazy thanks for your help. the DVD if it works I press the button to release a record and take it out well
@esjcesar Hey what year do you have and is this a factory installed unit or is it a aftermarket?...Most factory installed units and aftermarket units ive worked on actually feed off the cigarette lighter for power... check your fuses, for i am not sure which group the power outlets are on, i think its power accesories....Often these systems are poorly installed, im willing to bet you have a loose connector. check fuses, E-mail me with any other questions..I bet its the power feed
Great Vid.. My question is on a 2005 T&C. I'm trying to remove the 6 disk changer. It seems to only come forward an ich or so with not enough remove to disengage the clips to dvd unit. Is the away to get the DVD player to slide out more to disconnect or do I need to remove other component to allow harness extra slack? Thanks for yor help
@mokaroni hey, once you take that bezel off you should have plently of room to get your hands back there and remove it.. its been a while but once you take the bezel piece out the AC and heat controls come off with the bezel and theirs a large gap between the cd changer and the radio..hope this helps..if not E-mail me
@Levigamble Thanks for pointing out what everyone can already see, Im pretty sure I mentioned that has to be repained or redyed. I guess you werent paying attention to the video.. and yes, I am worried about denting the panel. Just cause theres chipping paint on a console Doesnt mean the entire car needs to go to shit...thanks for your input tho
@Levigamble dude just shut the fuck up, whats up with all that negative input? wouldnt it be better if you give constructive criticism rather than your bs?
@Levigamble what gives you the right to comment the way you do On my video?.. You have a right to express your opinion on my channel. Just like everyone else does... It doesnt matter if Fernibody94 knows you or not.. hes entitled to tell you to shut the fuck up on here, just like your entitled to make useless dick comments about my cars interior....Your a dick, and if you cant take someone tellin you how it is, dont make comments like that and not expect to get a reaction...
@905speedgta no problem man, im just sick and tired of people talkin smack through here and making useless comments. ANYWAY... thanks a lot for the video, it really helped me trying to fix my moms radio. she has a 2001 T&C. the problem with it is that the stereo lights wont turn on. the air bezel works and everything lights up at night except for the stereo. do you know how to fix it?
@ferniboy94 I have a spare radio from a 2001 .. maybe I can take it apart and see whast up.. it sounds like the illumination bulbs have burned out...have u tried hitting it? is it the original radio?.. are all wires connected to the factory terminalo? has it been hacked before?
@905speedgta i tried hitting it but it didnt work. when i took it out i noticed that there were two plugs that were not connected to anything, but i couldnt find anywhere to plug em on the radio, the radio only has a 3 terminals, a gray one, black one and a little hole for a silver one
i dont know if its the original radio, im pretty sure its not, but im sure the radio does belong to a 01 T&C
@Levigamble A Useless video with almost 14,000 Views ... Im guessing your one of those youtubers or car guys that know a little tiny bit about something and find videos like mine and look for something in the video to comment on negatively....truth is, yes, just like any part after continuous use parts wear out Even metal clips...Taking a part like a dash bezel out than out again and again isnt good..Infact, sometimes the clips dont hold in properly after a few removals..
Thanks a bunch! This was very helpful. I had to replace the radio in our 2005 Grand Caravan. Everything was as you say. The only hint I would add is that when you start to screw your new radio back in place, make sure the wire bundles are not behind one of the screws. In my haste (and in the dark evening), this happened. It seems there's no harm here, but it could have been bad.
Heh this is going to sound ironic but your video description was so thorough that I decided to have my amp/stereo installed professionally! I have a 2005 GC. I'm wondering where the Amp would go/fit? I usually drive with the rear seats removed ("camping space"). While I don't know much about amp-installs, I'd like it if it were hidden for obvious reasons. Any ideas? (oh.. no CC on my vehicle)
@MrMvproductions You dont really have to do to that extent when doing what I did..Anything major i would suggest doing so.. Some people have radios that once they loose power they loose all their stations and time settings etc.
Do you have any suggestions on the exact part number or how I can connect my new Alpine stereo to my van. I wanted to do myself, but I cant get the wire harness to slip into the one I bought???
@jonmelchr What year do you have? there are 2 different harness adaptors you may have to get a different adaptor. go to your auto parts store and see if they ahve it in the stereo section.. or check out best buy they carry that sort of stuff now.. the wiring on it is simple. Once you get the right adaptor all you have to do is match up the wires.. Ive been gettign alot of car stereo questions. Mostly relating to chrysler..I am thinking of making some videos on that
I am trying to replace my factory radio on a 2002 chrys.town.count, but the wire harness does not match that I got from crutchfield nor can i f ind it at the auto parts store. Crutchfield says they are sending the correct one, but the issue is the factory radio uses the harness for a 2001. I am afraid that the connector still wont work. When I removed the radio, the harness attached to car has 7 pins inside a grey and then a black box. This went into the radio which just had holes on two
@jonmelchr 2002 should be the old style harness adaptor.. you might of got the 2003 and up one.. go to your local auto parts store and look for previous 2000 and down harness adaptor
This was great!!! Thank you... We have a 2002 T&C with the Automatic Temperature Control. Our problem is that the backlights on the A/C control unit no longer work, so we can't tell if we're turning the knob from floor to defrost to vent, etc... The individual lights showing the knob position work but not the panel lights if that makes sense...
Do you know the basic process to fix those? I'm afraid I might have to replace the entire A/C control head.
Too bad you didn't remove the bezel (but I definitely understand why you didn't!), but even so this was greatly helpful! I'm about to replace my stereo and this helped.
I am *very* interested in looking at your pictures for the Chrysler grab handles that you installed (actually... my children are very interested... :o) ). Please post a link.
