Actually Barney isn't Ted's best friend. Ted only says "Second Best Friend" to make him feel better, Barney is just a guy who follows Ted around, didn't you guys see the episoide on "How Ted met Barney??????"

I still really like Ted. His mission to find the One, although tiring, is sweet. And understandable if you think about who his best friends are. Marshall and Lily are married and the happier for it. Barney just found Robin, who is Barney's "the One." Ted's watching all the closest people to him find what he's wanted for a long time. Plus, his speech to Stella in last week's episode made me just want to hug the guy.

Though I understand how the mother mystery can become uninteresting after so many seasons. That's why there's this huge shift of focus to Barney and his relationship with Robin. The creators know that that's what the viewers are *really* interested in, and they've done a good job of subtly making both storylines equally important.

"They're going to end up together." Yes they are! <3 It is a classic set up, though with two very un-classic characters. Barney and Robin are pretty unique as far as two sitcom characters go, so their classic relationship is by far the most interesting on primetime tv right now.

I love Ted. I feel for him because he's probably not going to meet The Mother until the series finale. Teeeeed.

lol yeah. i used to like ted. But after all this time he just seems like a sucker for love. He has very few personality traits that make me like him. Plus he's always complaining about having no one.

I kinda wish it was more like Kyle XY, in that show you have mysteries but they give you the answer and then they get you hooked on wanting to know more. It feels a little redundant wanting to know the mother this long.

all the characters are great, and the show has good writers. but i agree man, when will we find out who the mother is? it's kind of annoying. he said that he the mother was in that club the night he got punched but he only spoke to a random married woman. and then stella made her return, trying to make people believe stella was the mother, which was kind of pointless and now the mother is 1 of his students? barney is the best. lily is kind of annoying.
