I totally agree with the statement that this video doesn't do him justice. He was an instructor at SAMW, which I attended 3 years ago with my son, and he was very fun, and his playing is beyond amazing. But he was there and I was there, and this was the video I was able to get.
Love this guy. Saw him live a long time ago when he released a new album, "Roaring 40's" or something. Incredible 12 stringer. This vid doesn't do this genius justice, but I REALLY apreciate you sharing.
Was the record album " Walking on Air " ?I use to see him play in the Harvard Sq train station way back and he taught me how to Travis pick. He gave me the great advice about staying in school and not slagging off to watch him play. I did anyway :-) His style consists of a great mix of celtic, classical, folk, bluegrass, blues, and yeah you don't get all of that from this clip. His lady is a fab dulcimer player.
