The Dark Skyfire originates from the 8th Episode of the 1st season, of the G1 cartoon "Fire on the Mountain" at 15 mins in, you see Starscream and Thundercracker carrying in a damaged Skyfire. for about 5 seconds he's in black/purple Skywarp colors, before reverting to his usual red/white color scheme. It's most likely an animation error due to the animators just being used to drawing Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker together.

He does look nice but I prefer the Autobot Version It would of been cool in the Show if He satarted of Black with the Decepticons and then turned White when he Joined the Autobots but that may of raised some problems like Racism
