@Lazerkat789 Lol I wouldn't say it's weird for a theif to use a shield in combat, it's just to protect him. Just because someone has a shield, doesn't make them a warrior. But on my profile, I'm the ultimate deal. Wich is understandable if you dissagree to play it that way, because that's how I felt years of playing these game (since morrowind). But the varity of quests in skyrim you'll find from someone passing in a little settlement temps me to be the ultimate character.

@Chorkly On the contrary! As awesome as dual wielding daggers is (I'm bound to try it), it makes more sense for a thief to carry around a shield. I see dual wielding for a more aggressive types; an assassin who rely on dealing as much damage as possible. A thief (or, at least, MY thief) simply doesn't want to get killed so, while adventuring, he wears sturdy-yet-flexible armour accompanied by a buckler. The dagger <3 is the least encumbering weapon when caught off guard.

@gixG17 you should play with JUST a dagger.. if you could have a small buckler it would work (the type you weild on your fist rather than your arm) but a big shield seems a little too cumbersome to me.. but i agree with you on the dual weilding being more assassin than thief.. if you use a dagger alone you can still block with the dagger as long as you dont equip a spell in your offhand.

Tip: When you have drawn the bow ready to fire the arrow but suddenly want to cancel it you don't have to fire it to the ground

You can press "R" default to take the arrow back from the bow.

Arrows also can create distraction: fire arrow to place x and enemy who has ears will likely go check out the weird noise.

2. When exploring, or intending to go somewhere and must walk to the destination... Discover places along the way to your destination, and if you want, explore them later or whatever. This will greatly help later in the game since you'll be able to fast travel to any location you have discovered cutting travel time down considerably (when you are questing, or concentrating on finishing something). Those guardian stones don't help you at all since all they do is make you level faster. Leveling faster in skyrim is pointless due to the level scaling.

@dikkeroege It's up to the player to adapt and I'm referring to any standing stone, not just the Guardian Stones. Leveling faster isn't pointless either, you get more perks to allocate and some achievements. Having a higher level also improves the "leveled loot" you can find, especially some good enchanted items. Their are pros and cons, sure, but faster progress cannot be attained by holding back.

Protip #1: Instead of firing an arrow into the ground and then retrieving it, press "R" to not fire the arrow in the first place. Very useful feature.

The Old Orc is a reference to the Orc you find in Morrowind named Umbra. He pretty much has the same idea of coming to a point in his life where's he's the best warrior around and no one can defeat him so there's nothing more for him.

You should know what even though there is a College of Bards, your character can't play any instruments or stuff (which I find pretty lame). So don't get your hopes up too much. There are few missions they give you though.

Gix, you can use the animal pelts to make leather and leather strips, which in turn are used to make light armor and reinforce said armor and weapons. All done using a tanning rack, a forge and workbench, found near blacksmith shops. Hope this helps :)
