Nope thats what most people think... in the really dukes of hazzards the original it was a 68, no in the new movie,, thats a different thing they had 69 chargers 68 chargers and some early 70's chargers.. i know what im talking about
nice car! sucks you sold it, i got a true 71 superbee im trying to restore, its a mission though so i know how hard it is to restore, but i got no kids and i got time
it would run fine on e85 straight from the pump I am getting ready to pull my ls1 and increase the compression to about about what that was to take full advantage of the higher octane of the e85
Yes we sold it, Restoration would have been expensive, and the engine (12.5:1 Compression) would have to be seriously detuned to be driveable on the road. The current owner sold the body but kept the drivetrain and is detuning it.
what kinda asshole guys a Superbee and sells the body. id skin him alive for that shit. nice car btw. doesnt need to do that. its ready to go dammit.. ppl are retarded
Naw you don't know us! It was back in 94/96 when I saw it (I think) I used to visit my friend Matt Provencher (lives near the intersection.) I wasnt really into cars until after that, I moved to S.E.Mass - now I got two mopars of my own. But that car stuck out in my mind - I used to think - gee I wonder if the guy is gonna do anything with it?? Glad to see you are! Maybe i'll catch you at NEDragway mopar show this year?!
This sucks man my engine starting burning a little bit of oil. Sounds like you have a valve tick. Try lowering the idle a lot also. ROYAL PURPLE 4-LIFE!
i guess after putting all that money in your new truck you couldnt afford to restore the charger?...lolhonestly in my opinion if you owned it for that long you could of kept to restore as a long term project?but i guess having it as long as you did and probably thinking of it as a part of the family that giving away 1 of your "kids" is a good thing right...?????
Oh no Ive heard loads... plus in a something like a turbo'd supra(dont get me wrong i like them), you get fuck all power till the turbo kicks in. V8's are naturally ALOT more torquey due to the way they are shaped and how the pistons act on the crank. hence alot more usable power. why do you think most production sports cars have V's in them whether they are US or European (gotta love TVR's). Plus in my opinion they just sound alot more powerful.
Turbo's aren't limited to just jap cars. Many new turbo cars eliminate the problem of turbo lag with lighter internals or variable vane geometry (porsche 911 turbo). Peak torque in the 997 arrives at 1500rpm. The technology in these American v8s is outdated and the mantra of "the bigger the better" is just stupid in this day and age. Compare the Audi 4.2 FSI V8 with the LS7. The 4.2L gets 309kw, and the 7.0L 373kw. Only 64 extra kw from 2.8 more L? come on...
Lol. Yea if I had the cash!! Im currently in the process of titivating a Reliant Scimitar GTE. Not the prettiest or fastest car in the world. But its cheap insurance, I rebuilt the 3.0L V6 to fast road spec, sounds good, looks good. And I love it;)!
Nice! My girlfriend's Dad is into renovating old Mercs, he's currently putting the finishing touches on a 560SEL - it has a thumping great 5.6L V8 in it ... I have to admit, there is a certain feeling you get with one of those monstrous cars that you don't get with modern cars. I have a project car at the moment, its a version 9 wrx STi (Subaru), It's pusing out around 483hp ... aiming for 550hp though!
I've got a '73SE in pieces in my garage. I've owned it since 1980 & won't part with it. LOL Used to own a '74 that I beefed up nicely, but a girlfriend totaled it back in '85. That still kills me thinking about it.
Man, sold for $2000. Where I live every MOPAR is like $17000 plus. GM cars are cheaper and much more plentiful, but it's a MOPAR that I really want. I could not get myself to purchase a Ford.
sorry, it's just a truck that lost fifth gear at 50 miles. click "more from this user" in the sidebar to see ti being rebuilt. It's called diamler chrysler sucks.

Indyram360 3 years ago
69 has split gril so does the general lee wich is why it a 69 68 no center pece wich is why its not.
hellkittytown 2 years ago
@MovieMakerKeith The Dukes of Hazzard used 68,69 and 70 chargers, all modified to look like a 69. But the general lee was suposed to be a 69.

This isnt the best sounding V8 IMHO, sounds a bit rough.
mcmeat51 4 years ago
Yeah that's because of a header leak which makes the clapping sound. Sounds pretty good from the back though.
