I just ordered mine, and appreciate this great vid,it'll help me out alot to figure where to go next,...as for motors,..I have a turnigy 4000kv from a heli i was flying,..do u think that would work or maybe just try th ones I've been watchin on utube..thanx for all and keep up th great vids.
It's a bit high on the Kv.I would start out with a 4.25X4.25 apc prop. and possibly a 2 cell and check your watts and your motor temp.I think if you can get it to a 6x4 apc on a 3 cell in the 500 to 700 watt range you'll have a good setup. You can check out my SkyFun @ 700 watts. youtube.com/watch?v=BrqMUNNtLTE
It is more similar to a Phase 3 Fantom than anything else. I have the Phase 3 version , EPS covered with packing tape and replaced the stock EDF pod with a Turnigy 28mm 3200-3700 KV brushless outrunner with an APC 4.5 inch prop, 40A ESC and 2200 4-cell and it goes about 100mph with unlimited vertical. I'm thinking about one of these since the Fantom is out of production. Add a flat carbon fiber rod to a slot in the leading edge of the wing, will save you lots of dings. Going to cover with f
I think I used a 6mm carbon rod,the channel is in the wing already.Find a rod that just fits the channel in the wing and use a polyurethane glue like gorilla glue . Be careful not to use too much, the glue will double in size when it dries.
The middle of the grip is a good place to start. Then to fine tune the CG what I do is: on a power off glide for landing it should need a little up elevator for a nice shallow glide .If it needs more up elevator then it's nose heavy or if it needs some down then it's tail heavy.Level flight with power on is adjusted by motor thrust and or elevator to throttle mix.
Flying wings are different than fix wing planes because they need up elevator for upright level flight.(reflex)
Great video learned alot, hope to see more.I wanna buy a sky fun now because of this video, just got my AXN Cloud Fly yesterday and already looking for my next model I think this is it.
@inciteman i think you should Google "Micro jet From Multiplex"That was what there was before the Fun Jet.Other than being a flying wing there is not much of resemblance.
Great video. Thanks.

what size in mm carbon reinforcing rods did you use?
I just ordered one of these jets.

Can you provide the exact location of the CG on this plane. They say its in the finger hole but the finger hold are about an inch long.

Actually it does resemble the Funjet A LOTT (1st Version of Funjet, not the newer version you have).

did you change the esc when you installed the neu motor?if so what esc do you use?

Yes. I'm using a Phoenix 45 it's rated for upto 5s lipos.

I used 3.5 mm carbon tube.
The plane comes with a channel to recive the carbon tube,so I cut the carbon tube to that leight.
MrAkjrm 2 years ago
Nice mods! Can you tell us the dimension on the carbon tube?
