@FallofDarkness55 Jesus forgives sins, knowing he will ascend to heaven, he has to intervene with the material world to get to us, not magically bec that would be against the law of nature, that's why Jesus left a church and passed on his ministry to his apostles. God himself respect his law of nature in this material world, so we might as well respect that
@FallofDarkness55 correct God is omniscient, but being supernatural He doesn't want to intervene with the natural/material world we live in, if that is so the case being omniscient, then if we pray for bread it'll automatically come down to your plate..yes he can do that but he doesnt do that.God can automatically send Jesus down from heaven but he never disrupt the flow of nature,he allowed Jesus to be born of a virgin
penance is catholic, repentance doesn't ask for us to do penance. Like to say an extra prayer. do a good deed, hurt our bodies. Although the first 2, to say an extra prayer and do a good deed are good in themselves. The works that come from faith are works of love never self flagellation. I remember when I was a catholic some ladies on their knees until their were bleeding. You cannot ad to the immense sacrifice of Jesus. Even He didn't suffer for the sake of suffering. He just died in our place
This is a great song and would be a good selection to be played at a penance service. While people are making their individual confession's along with other song's that would be perfect for this loving event. Last Saturday I went to confession and I felt much better about things then the time before that. That's because I went to one of the priest that I'm use to going to and not a complete stranger this time.
This sacrament is a healing, its heal our wounds in our hearts, our sins and also our relation to god and to his people. We need to realize what we are and what is the purpose of our life. we created by him because of his love for us. but we people always break it and sometimes destroy the our lives. Lets us tell to god our thoughts and prayer. our love for him. our natures in life, and most important in doing this sacrament is to realize the sins, and to repent, and come to him.Amen
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Breath = A New Creation, like God breathed life into Adam, therefore Confess= A New Creation.
This presentation was absolutely excellent! It was prayerful, very moving, it made me thankful that as Catholic we have this beautiful sacrament that Jesus desires that we seek and praise God for the priest at my parish that are truly like Christ and in the confessional they are supportive, encouraging, and pray for us to overcome our sins. Heavenly Father, thank you that you forgave me. Thank you for the Sacrament of Reconciliation! Amen
yep, that is how we begin our confessions. We envoke God's mercy and humble ourselves by admitting our guilt. Usually I say "forgive me father..." same thing.
The person seeking forgiveness of his sins (the penitent) traditionally opens his sacramental "confession" by using this line. This opening indicates the penitent's willingness to enter into the "tribunal of mercy" and submit himself to the judgment of the priest. The penitent must be sorry for his sins, he must specifically name the sins, and he is expected to perform the "acts of penance" (prayers, good works, almsgiving, etc.) assigned by the priest. (See John 20:21-23.)
I cried watching this video for i remembered all the sins i've done . God , i'm sorry .

Sacraments aren't needed for your salvation. Christ died for you. He did what was necessary. Be thankful and accept His saving grace.
