  • Elvis was such a cutie pie

  • The KING.

  • Elvis

  • I LOVE THIS SONG>

  • Masterful. The King.

  • ¡Quiero un cadillac y mi falda plato ya!

  • I love the expressions he does in the transitions between the verses "And it was all for me-I'll never know" And the way he sings those parts are just...! My favorite parts of the song. :3

  • 1:19 wow!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I don't understand how anyone could dislike this. It's beautiful

  • yay my hero (im named after him Presley thats ma name)

  • @illusionisdave Elvis Geste ist hammer

  • Elvis... so cool und einmalig.

  • Amazing.... 50 year old song that sounds as good today as the day he sang it. How much music made today can you say that about? Elvis was just timeless.

  • Elvis, a gift from God.

  • He transcends all generations.

  • in the ed sullivan show elvis was better than beatles!!!!

  • @TheASTRALICO i agree, but it wasn't just in the ed sullivan show.:P lol

  • great,thanks

  • Thanks for the share Gaza<3 I love the vid

  • Blonde Elvis! Looks good

  • Man that is so good

  • the best voice ever.

  • He looks tired.

  • juste génial ce type. Et quel type !

  • He Was The One and it was all for us !! <3

  • ELVIS , then and now , the COOLEST guy that ever lived.

    10-27-11

  • " . . . great days and times, when teenagers really knew how to live and have fun. . ." Are you sure of what you say ? Gay people, divorced women, black people were discriminated. And what about Vietnam's war ? What about educational methods ? Were we really happy at school ? I think those were nice days but not the best days.

  • One of my all time favorite ELVIS songs!!! THANKS

  • Gosh He looks so tired.

  • @TheIrvinlopez

How the hell does he look tired???? What you see is a 21 year old with a swagger unlike anybody before and after him. Who knows how many skirts almost dropped during this three minute performance. Elvis was one human size dose of adrenaline his entire life and he became who he is from it.

    WHO ARE YOU?

  • Doctor Who needs to pick me up in his TARDIS and take me to meet this amazing man!!!!!! and see him perform! :(

  • ELVIS, 2PAC AND MICHAEL.....

  • This was always one of my favorites but I found it hard to find on albums. Somewhere I have it as a 45rpm. Thanks for having it in a live performance.

  • Such a brilliant performance and the sniff 2/3 of the way through proves it is all live! Is there anyone in the world today who can sing like this ? I think not. Come back Elvis-we really need you!

  • @tim60s321He will never come back. We just have to meet him there...he is waiting for us.

  • When he lost those high notes he lost his youthful innocence - or was it the other way round?. Same for all those fifties stars, tenor Adonises, baritone lounge acts.

  • @orthotox You must not be a big fan or you'd know he never lost the high notes. In fact, his range got even greater.

  • @illusionistdave I am a BIG fan - of the early Elvis. I invite you (challenge you?) to go to the original (1958) recording of "Trouble" (from King Creole) and then compare it to the rendition seen on the King's famous comeback TV special (1968). Especially on the crescendoing line, "My daddy was a green-eyed mountain jack" Presley didn't even try to hit the original notes. Regards.

  • @orthotox Actually you're completely wrong. The original is a movie version which is lackluster at best. The 68 Special edition is raw emotion and incredibly higher range.

  • @illusionistdave His range did change, he definitely couldn't hit the same high notes, it became more falsetto. He gained lower notes, but I don't think a lot of the higher notes remained with him, his overall range remained the same, it just shifted towards a lower end.

  • @MrECC83 Hurt is not falsetto.

  • @illusionistdave You are wrong actually...Elvis had a much much easier time with high notes when he was young. You can even watch him struggle and joke in later years when he fails to be able to reach notes he could sing with ease when young.

  • @TrueLight55 It may have been harder but it is obvious that he hit higher notes. Higher notes are obviously harder to hit. That doesn't mean he didn't do it. He reached every not he ever tried. Show me one note he gets wrong.

  • 7 people have clicked the wrong button ...

  • he seemed so nervous..

  • the kid smiled while singing more than anyone else but not on this performance, i wonder why?

  • Great song, Thanks for posting, ~ Arthur

  • So often in his early performances it's obvious that he's only using about 50% of his vocal ability- and yet, he's still soooo much better than 99.99% of the singers that preceeded or followed him!

  • this songs makes me cry sooo much, why can't he be here with us today??

    i love you elvis xxx

  • @ascouserswife You are so right! He was a once in a trillion entertainter that will never ever been seen again. If only we had a time machine that would take us back to those great days and times, when teenagers really knew how to live and have fun. He put us all through the happiness of our teenage years with excitement that was never known again to any age group. His time was taken from us much too soon, yet he will live on forever in your memory and everyone elses.

  • This man was responsible for the floods of the fifties and sixties. Every time the women heard his voice they got wet and the land overflowed.

  • I can hit 5 octaves

  • Well actually I sound IDENTICAL to Elvis when I sing his songs. I can even dance like him. I guess it just runs in my blood cause my uncle is like that 2...

  • @bottomsup61 What Octaves can you hit? Elvis could hit 6.

  • @bottomsup61 No one can be identical to him. Sorry. Btw, just the fact that you have such a big ego shows your'e not like him.

  • He is the best of the best!!! ELVIS I LOOOOOOVE YOU!!!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm beautiful just beautiful, thanks for sharing, no one will ever compare to Elvis, he was a one off and no one will ever come close to his greatness.

  • This song was just onecof my personal favorites, There were a few of the songs I like a lot. What is more important is the fans like, My cousin love all of the fan very much And I am grateful for all the fans What they gave me when my dad passed away..... Rest In Peace Emil Presley ( my dad) and Elvis Aron Presley ( best cousin ever)

I miss both ya'll very much.

    aloha T~

    T C B

  • out of the many songs he performed this was his personal favorite.

  • He is so serious with this song........very rare..

  • @TheJorge0015 porque están acostumbrados a escuchar toda la mierda de música comercial.. y cuando ven un video de la música de antaño se les hace aburrido o tonto porque no son capaces de percibirlo como se debe.. :)

  • To the doucher who said Elvis was the King of liquor: go read a book about him...he didn't like alcohol. Sheesh.

  • Excellent, thanks for posting!

  • The 6 people who disliked this must be from another planet.

  • @broiledfowl no, even the ones from another planet would love Elvis! :) I don't know what's wrong with them

  • Quem viu Elvis é um privilegiado...

  • <3 Eff this generation...I wish I was in the 50's...So much class and dignity...Now it's all sexual violence and physcopathic rapists listening to scary music & movies...Where did humanity go wrong? Smh. Props for the 50's / 60's ! & props for ELVISPRESLEY the one and only entertainer/lover ;)

  • @mallerySON40 yes, you right, I wish I was in the 40's & 50's too, today the people doesn't know Elvis and all the 50's music, very very sad :(

  • Who'll learn a lesson, when she broke my heart, I was the one.. I WANT TO CRY

  • R.I.P 16th August 2011 - Still the king!!

  • This is before he died his hair black

  • where was this from?

  • @16x9enhanced This is from The Dorsey Brother's "Stage Show" 1956

  • The greatest single entertainer ever period!!

  • amaaaaaaaazing

  • LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH>

  • My one and only love! Elvis I love you!

  • I love you baby.

  • @rufngo he was the king of rock n roll. He's the king of kings. So don't deny him.

  • you did not read my post.... i did not say i did not like Elvis.. and i know how many records he sold.... im not taking any of his talent away from him .... just putting all in prespective... i agree he was a great singer but not the King of anything except maybe drungs and liquor.. thats not a put down its a fact..

  • @rufngo you say you're an Elvis fan and state he liked booze? Elvis HATED alcohol.....if you would been invited to Graceland to a party in his time and drank alcohol, he would kick your ass.....you know, his mother died from liver disease because of alcohol

  • there is only one ELVIS

  • I just fell in love with a king. x3

  • No, Elvis. You were not the only one!

  • Love this so much.

  • Rest in peace, Elvis. Thank you.

  • Nice old clip.

So what happened to this guy? Did he have any more hits after this song?

  • @RickDougall

About 21 years more of them.

  • @RickDougall yes more than any other artist

  • @ron2ocean Did you seriously not get that that was a joke?

  • @RickDougall more than the Beatles and every shit musician after them....

  • @ElvLeg Yeah, whatever. That's the last time I attempt to crack a joke on an American video. I should have seen the butt-hurt coming! Happy whining :-)

  • For sure I was the one, Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse rock , and of course Dont be Cruel......... and it make him a hit.. but having lived that time as a teen ager and was very involved in dancing and even dancing on TV. as much as we liked him and he was the king of Rocka billy he was not the King of Rock and Roll not even close.. not to say he was not great for he was as you hear and its just ashame he did not longer.....

  • @rufngo to say Elvis isn't the king of rock is just ridiculous. everything that music became happened because of Elvis.

  • @danhabsfan9 so so many made Rock and Roll... and Elvis was a part of it... and had much appeal to many.. but he never wrote a song he sang.. and after that first 8 songs of his he just sang others.... the poodle skirt crowd may have been that fan club of Elvis but not to the real teenagers that was in the know at that time... yes we liked Elvis, but never ever thought him King. and trust me i am a fan of Elvis.

  • @rufngo

You are wrong. Millions of sold records during Elvis life time prove you wrong. If you don't like Elvis, it's perfectly okay, just avoid his videos and stop posting.

  • 1 of my favorite vocal performances

  • he makes it look so easy ! wish i had his talenst

  • I know Elvis was known as kinda getting rock n roll to take off, but truly his ballads showed his vocals off more. This is a very forgotten early Elvis song, and good vocally too. "Anyway you want me" is great as well.

  • How can you not be in love with this man?

  • Heaven

  • yes Elvis you were the one, the one and only!

  • Who'll learn a lesson when she broke my heart.. I was the one!!!

  • If there was a modern Bible, Elvis would be in it as the Messiah.

  • elvis not of this earth

  • How could Elvis' critics who were also in show business (Steve Allen, Jackie Gleason and even Frank Sinatra) when Elvis first appeared have watched a performance like this and still say he could not sing? They must have been torn apart with jealousy. No one could ever come close to his talent.

  • sneeze at 1:50 lol

  • 6 idiots,6 BASTARDS.

    R.I.P King of Rock'nRoll!

  • God blessed Elvis with talent, charming, voice, he was one of a kind.

  • LOL. I love how he always, ALWAYS, bows twice, hides behind the curtains, and them comes out to bow one more time. <3 Ohhh Elvis <3

  • PERFECT - love it ...

  • he is a legend.. but its just so wrong to call him a God..

  • love u so much ! <3 u r the best, forever!!! <3

    U r the legend, u R THE ONE, PEOPLE WILL TALK ABOUT IN A 100.000 YEARS! <3 elvis, u r a god! <3

the best, the king. And yet, so human.<3

  • Perfect. Nothing but Elvis, a stand-up bass, guitar, drum, and the Jordanaires' harmony.

  • there is only one king of Rock'n Roll ♥ i love youu

  • That note he hits at 2:11 is just...wow. Great performance by an out-of-this-world performer. <3

  • This is one of my absolute favorite live perfomances.....the delivery.....the honesty. This is before tabloid Elvis....but after the Sun Sessions. Just started his career at RCA.....had just recorded Heartbreak Hotel on Jan 10, 1956.....but the explosion had not yet happened.

Still innocent, not recognizable on the streets of NY, here is an Elvise Presley that exudes his Southern Charm, yet, fantatsic, unmistakeable talent.

Here is an Elvis Presley before the price of fame cost him his life

  • E was the 1.

  • he truely was the king he can sing so smooth and rock hard and the good looks !!!!! do i have to say anymore just look for yourself

  • He is the one. Betty ann

  • Great song. Simple yet great.

    Long live Elvis Aaron Presley.

  • just really perfect ! ! !

  • Who'll learn a lesson when she broke my heart? I WAS THE FUCKIN' ONE!!!

    forever the king!!!..

  • HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY. bETTYANN cONNOR

  • such talent, wish he was still here :( love you always and forever Elvis

  • So great to see the original rock and roll trio backing him up.

  • aLWAYS rock!!!!

  • Sweet Jebus he was EPIC. The raw talent, that painfully handsome face... I wish my 20-something generation understood...

  • @Phoenix42881 "Painfully handsome," perfect description, I have never heard that term before, love it!

  • he was a god love him x

  • glad to see someone save these old ones/ thank you

  • Young Elvis kicks..butt...It's obvious That This bastard was extremely cool. He was innocently wild in these younger years but transformed to the dark side...in later years..Sorry, but women, drugs, money, fame...etc..consumes you.

  • @uoyebutbackwords I disagree, Elvis was great till the weight problem appeared, sadly then he had problems. His 68 special was fantastic....

  • love this song

  • This takes me back to when I was 21 years old - saw Elvis at the old Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, NY in 1972 - it was and still is the greatest concert I have ever been to in my life...and I have been to hundreds. He sang this song and it sent chills through you - shortly after he and Priscilla broke up. Elvis was the best all-round singer/entertainer this world has ever seen.

  • I never had a special Elvis Song- - Hell, I know them all and every Elvis Song was special because it was new. It was different. It was young. I was young. It said, :Here is Life come and enjoy, live and suffer through it. I imitated Elvis for years in the 1960s and 1970s. I was 9 years old the first time I heard this Elvis Song at Farley School in Paducah, KY when some kids brought Elvis's 45 RPM record and the player to school for us to hear. Buddy Holly was also great. What a time to LIve!

  • Stop putting people down for not liking this song. Not everyone has to LOVE THIS SONG,NOR MUCH LIKE ELVIS.!!!!!!!!.Don't be so narrow minded.Everyone has the right to appreciate different genres of music!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Damn ignorant people.!!!!!!!!!!

    Grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No such man will ever posses the musical genius, the voice, the looks and the charisma that this man owned. God gave us Elvis and Elvis gave us music like no other, none before him or since. He gave us Rock, pop, ballads, gospel and country, all from one man, Elvis.

    The End

  • Wonderful! I had this one on VHS (last century!!), title Elvis 56. This bring me back to a life ago! Thank you for sharing!

  • Gostei muito deste vídeo, eu não tinha visto essa gravação ainda, deve ser muito rara !!!! Copiei e legendei em português. Espero que não se importe. Abraço !!!

  • We'll never see his like again. Watching this performance makes today's singers (even the best) pale in comparison. I'm not knocking today's music but this was better, MUCH better. I'm just sayin'.

  • the king, that is all.

  • you were not the only one. There is Bo Diddley, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Bill Haley, Little Richard. All them are ghosts of Elvis.

  • this is a great song... could be done again with a minor arrangement adjustment

  • NO other entertainer will have such an effect on the public as elvis, going on 34 years after his death and this man is stll adored even by people who weren't around when he was alive. some people never got over his passing and I one of them.

  • NO other entertainer will have such an effect on the public as elvis, going on 34 years after his death and this man is stll adored even by people who weren't around when he was alive. some people never got over his passing and I one of them

  • My all time favorite of his. "I was the One."

  • what year is this record from?

  • @immortalisblog i believe its 1956

  • wow ! this is great many might hear the calling , but there is only one king.

  • One of the many things I admired about ELVIS was his insistance on singing live as opposed to lip syncing to a prerecorded tape.

  • Wow.

The voice, the charisma, the looks.

    We miss you Elvis.

  • @markloveshelen but he lost the looks, charisma damped but still had the voice! :)

  • There is not or ever will be anyone like Elvis, he was a one off and we are a lot worse of losing him, he will live in our hearts and minds forever his fans and tribute artists will make his memory live on for eternity.

  • No ha habido Ni habrá alguien como Elvis . Un Rey que no era de este mundo. I love forever

  • elvis had raw talent! he was amazing i cant stop hearing and watching this! wow=D

  • Fantastic...What a great band they were

  • Hi Aaron - I'm so glad I found your channel, and hope you'll sub to mine too. We feature the #1 ETA in the World - Justin Shandor, who does all 3 Elvis eras. Couldn't believe it when we saw & HEARD him! Hope to celebrate our love of Elvis together. DianRay2

  • THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!!!! EVEN IN 2011!

  • i will forever be in love with Elvis!! Till the day that I die! <3
