I don't understand how a domestic militia hopes to engage an enemy that is predominantly foreign and decentralized. If the Michigan militia wants to help fight terrorism, they would probably have to move beyond 1st and 2nd generational warfare practices to 4th, or push for a support role as first responders to an incident.

The true tradition of the militia is that every able bodied man age 18 or over is expected to take up arms to defend the country if we are invaded. that does not mean national guard or state guard (who doesnt really do much of anything anyway), that does not mean drafted conscripts, or any other perversions the government tries to make up. it means MILITIA! you. your neighbors. your father, son, brother. these days, maybe even your wife or daughter. that is what the 2nd ammendment is about.

I see nothing wrong with good, honest, hard working, citizens forming a militia as a way to help defend our country. Our governments, both local and federal should embrace this idea. The more we all cooperate together in defending our nation the less chance there will be of an act of terrorism. Homeland security should include a "civil defense" program aimed at the local level. The national guard was supposed to fill this gap, but evidently their role now is on a federal level fighting wars.

I don't understand how a domestic militia hopes to engage an enemy that is predominantly foreign and decentralized. If the Michigan militia wants to help fight terrorism, they would probably have to move beyond 1st and 2nd generational warfare practices to 4th, or push for a support role as first responders to an incident.

But ultamitly, we are responsable for ourselves, and we work together with like minded people. Understanding small unit tactics is a way to teach others how NOT TO shoot each other in the back. Basic Level 1 shooting skills is 8 out of 10 shots on a 9 inch paper plate from 100 yards. Standing , prone, kneeling and not from a bench !

I suggest you defend your property first. You need to be anti-government when the government wants to take your guns away. Terrorism should only be a side issue. Do not lose sight of your aim.
