  • There's no need to live in Bretagne/Brittany for loving this place… Brittany is an amazing region in France, an awesome country. Wherever you look, there's always stunning landscapes, impressive mountains, wild sea and beautiful people. I'm happy to be born in France, to live in this country, I'm such a lucky girl!!

It makes me feel really happy to discover everyday some part of the french culture… Breton is a beautiful language such as all the local languages in France… <3

  • TYPE AND LISTEN : "karantez vro" BY VERONIQUE AUFFRET, the voice is amazing and emotional.

  • The one i love, before when we were little at home. When we were so close,so close to each other. My heart was loving, loving only one. When I was little at home with the one I love. The one I love i lost forever. Gone far away, never to return-and here is my song, the one im singing and here is my song for the one I love. The one I love one day left me. For a faraway land,a land I dont know,For a faraway land I will never go.Lost, lost, one day, the one I love.

  • Excellente chanson qui me trouble mon gros coeur Breton.

  • Breton is very similar to welsh spoken in north Wales not south and very similar to cornish and the old french language, but very different to gaelic irish and scotish...

  • @ledraig01 Old french language? french language is latin not germanic.

  • @chrisbreizh29 derived

not the modern French language which like Italian and Spanish and Portuguese is derived from Latin.the old original language as did welsh and Breton,Cornish Gallic they all started as one before Latin

where do you get germanic from? thats where the english language erives from..

  • @ledraig01 U cant say "Old french language" and think to the celtic languages spoken before in france. French language is romance language (latin).

  • I love this song. It moves in my soul, powerful and soft at the same time. Imagine sitting in a room, the only light is from the fireplace, winter cold outside and with the one most important to you this song plays in the background.

  • Stunning, goosebumps have resulted from listening to this.

  • In English: The one I love, before, when we were little at home when we were so near to each other My heart was loving ony one When I was little at home, the one I love The one I love, I lost forever Gone far away and will never come back And this is what I sing for the one I love The one I love one day left me For a far away land A land that I don't know Lost, lost one day, the one love
  • Denez Prigent is amazing... and how beautiful Breton sounds!

  • @VerityINK In the description.

  • My heart is crying ...

  • If there's a more beautiful lament, I haven't heard it.

  • for all people who like breton language, it need help.

  • I found Prigent through the Black Hawk Down movie, and now I'm absolutely cultivated by his voice and this Breton language... I don't have words to describe what his music does

  • Same here. He has such an amazing voice, it's mesmerizing. I think the language helps that too, it just sounds beautiful.

  • There is something soothing and a touch ethereal about the Breton language. Very much enjoy listening to it

  • Hope the sjofars play this in heaven!

  • eras es eris dilectus meus

  • Comment removed

  • The part of Lisa Gerrard starts at 3:55

Ps: I have tickets for her concert in Berlin, (19.09.2009, 19:00) :-P

Besides Lisa Gerrard and Denez Prigent you should also know "Zbigniew Preisner" He has some nice songs too ;-)

  • Whaaa, you're lucky!!! :D

  • Celtic music is something of beauty to listen to. Hopefully thanks to Denez Prigent and Lisa Gerrard and others will keep Celtic music music alive, so that beauty can be passed onto our children and even their children.

    Keep the beauty alive!

  • @Joewiseman09 Someone will carry on but this world is being pushed towards globalization which will cause some cultures to become extinct. It's a miracle that whats left of the Celtic languages even in today's world still exists at all.Just take a good look at the native Americans it is the same that has happened to the Irish,Scottish,Welsh,Cornish,Manx and the Breton people. Some one came tried to conquer then supplanted their native tongue with a foreign tongue and so forth.

  • Grym!

  • so sad that these celtic culture is dying out! respect to the people, their history and that there are still these kind of gorgeous musicians who are still holding it up!

  • As long as there are people like them making this beautiful music, and people like us respecting and listening it, it will never die out.

  • NEVER DIE

  • STILL......

  • @amandla76 All of the old cultures are dying out... Celtic is one of many, and it is terrible... but you can thank two things for it, globilization and certain religions that feel the urge to spread and corrupt everything they touch.

  • This is music of the soul. Brezhoneg is a celtic language spoken in the northwest of France, and it predates the French language by millenia. My Grandmother who was Breton (as it is called in French) learned French in school. The French government tried to eradicate the language, but they failed, and now there are Diwan schools that teach in Breton across Breizh/Bretagne/Brittany. My mother understands the language, but doesn't speak, which is a shame, I only know a few words. Breizh Ma Bro!

  • the armenian language almost died too, a couple of times. you've got to learn the language and share it with you're kids. it's such a beautiful language don't let it die, ever.

  • it's not armenian, it's an old gaellic language, from a part of france called Bretagne, it's actually the "breton" language if im right

  • oh I knew it wasn't armenian. : )

I was just talking about how beautiful Breton is and how we need to save.

  • Just absolutely love the music ... It´s a form of gaelic, as simple as that!

  • Breton is a beautiful language and it sounds like elvish :D btw it travels you to other worlds this song. Just fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

  • I fel like saying thank you, although I don't speak it. It was my grandmother's language. :-)

  • stunning, deeply touching

  • Brings tears to the eyes.

  • I love it!

  • touching....

  • Beautiful...

  • gretings from "bretagne" long life to you baby!!!!

  • el tema es mravilloso...it is wonderfull ..where is Danez from..?thanks..

  • Danez is french, he's from French Britain "North west of France". He's singing in old french britain spoke.

  • Dear LEVIATH, I would bet you are an expert

at bargaining, but NOt at spelling !

    Brittany or Breizh, please !

By the way, Breton in a CELTIC language,

nothing to do with an old form of the French

Language ! Breton is very close to the WELSH !

    YOURS , AYE Raibeart PIOBAIRE

  • You're right, that's what I told but not very correctly. Not used to speak about Brittany in english so..Excuse my mistakes. Great song by the way.

  • breizh ha taol an ditu laegerent ba brozon liudu

  • No his language is breton, have nothing to have with french, but look like to wales languages. Its 100% celts , and have 4 000 years old.

  • The Breton language is a celtic one from people who lived in France. It's not French, but the people who originally spoke it came from that area.

  • Originally, bretons of france come from great-britains, angles and saxons are come in england. Then, bretons are go in west of france with their own language(a part go in cornwall, ireland, scottland, galicia, wales). Thats because they are named bretons, they come from isle of brittany. Breton language is born in great britain, its britonnic language. Gallo and romane language come from that area but not breton, its clearly britonnic.

  • gall means french in breton so gallo language speach by originally people of bretagne. The English = ar saoz (breton) = Le saux (french translation of breton).

Look the blond map of europ u see clearly the anglo-saxon invasion in great britains, and bretons and galicia invasion (anglo saxon are most blonds that celts who are most blond that french or spain).

  • bretons are come in -500 bc

  • beautiful...

  • The one I love, long ago, when we were young at home When we were close to each other My heart loved but one When I was young, at home, the one I love The one I love, I lost him forever He went far away en won't come back And here I am singing, singing for the one I love The one I love, one day he left me He went to distant lands, lands I haven't heard of He went to distant lands, to make a living Lost, lost one day, the one I love
  • thank you very much for the kind translation.
