You people want to talk about responding to a call. I live in Buffalo NY and I've seen with my own eyes literally 40 police cars respond to a shooting call where 3 people where shot in broad daylight. And when 50 Police cars responding when 2 Buffalo Police officers where shot in the line of duity
In my quiet town, a traffic stop will warrant 1 police care with 2 arriving as "backup". A simple fender bender (Resulting in a scratch) that can be ignored results in ambulance coming asking "Are you alright?" police cars coming asking "Are you drunk sir?" and fire trucks coming saying "Anyone need to be freed out of their cars?" Sure its reassuring? but allittle excessive no?
Most of the time you'll notice police respond in odd numbers. unless under a traffic stop where they may call up one additional patrol car which usually is the supervisor
Oh Mighty and Superior One. So considering your major ego, I'm going to say you've never left the NYC for another destination like say on a.. vacation? Now YOU would be a tourist I would shout at. It's people like you that give New Yorkers a bad name.

It was probably a serious call out. NYPD go in pods of 3-7 units to sever calls.

That was a real call. Police usually while responding to serious calls respond in pods of 3's 5's and 7 patrol cars on the same route
