Agreed, the arcade version has always been better. However, the Sega Genesis (or Sega CD) version could've done better by adding much better arcade-like graphics as seen on this video. the Sega CD version improved with the background music but wasnt that great.

here's how it goes down... after a "X" amount of matches in the pit stage, there will be a game which will feature a random shadow. When this shadow appears, you must defeat your opponent without getting hit (a double flawless), not using the block button, and doing a fatality on the opponent. when all parameters are fulfilled, then you will face your greatest challenge that is Reptile...

haha don't even mention genesis version in the same sentence with the arcade! Genesis version has crapy graphics and almost non-existent sound effects. Gameplay wise, both versions are good, only this one seems to be little faster/closer to the arcade.

Just got this in the post, it is much better than the SNES version and much more difficult! Nice to see the proper blood effects + the pit fatality as it was meant to be!

My only slight gripe is the D-Pad is one of those circular disk type things -- similar to that on a Saga Master System (Genesis in America) or an unofficial SNES controller -- this makes pulling off complicated moves a little awkward, but I'm sure I'll get used to it 

Just ordered this on Ebay, looks much better than the Snes version I've had for years -- proper blood, and the arcade fatalities. In the Snes version, instead of the uppercut decapitation, Jonny Cage sticks his leg through the opponents' chest -- It looks more like he's giving them a tickle with his toes!

In the arcade, he only makes that sound when he's punched in the crotch by Johnny Cage. It is very annoying that they made it one of his normal sounds in the Plug n Play.

i got this about a year ago and the uk mortal kombat plug n play dont have any gore. You cant even do the fucking pit or any fatalitys cost me £30 at the time the best port is on psp

Apparently there are 2 versions of the Plug and Play, one with, and one without gore. Mine has gore intact, and is a red color, the non gore I believe is yellow if I'm not mistaken (I could be wrong on the color).
