  • They should use YouTube in school and homework now!

  • @DrummerElite13 youtube edu , they do

  • My teacher teaches this for 3 days, I'm confused. You teach it in 8 minutes, I'm a boss.

  • i neeeeeeed helppppp

  • can you do a video on Finding the Axis and the Vertex of a Parabola ?

  • my math teacher should just show us your videos in class...she doesnt teach at all Dx

  • what happens if u get a fraction as your axis of?symmetry

  • hairy arm...

  • IF my teacher would write, explain, and teach like you do i would be a Mathematician :-)

  • hey so u've just explained in 7 min something that i didn't understand after 3 hours of class... question for u, if the result doesn't factor out how do u get the x coords then?

  • he's left handed.

  • can u pleeeasee do an example where u have the graph or a quadratic function and u need to get the equation of it!

  • you should replace textbooks and teachers

  • @rubiksgh3 a video by me can never replace a good real life teacher :)

  • @patrickJMT it did, because this helped me get a better score on my math test yestarday

  • Please help me i have an exam tomorrow and i know theres going to be a question like this.

    d(300)=-750t+9000

I have to graph this and i have no clue. please anyone message me or reply it would mean so much! Thank you!!!!

  • @MaSaPrincess thats not even a quadratic equation.

  • @cloysterX418 yeah i know. I was commenting on a bunch of videos to get an answer.

  • Thanks :)

  • can this work for functions like f(x)=2x^3/3-2x^2+1 ?please reply asap as my exam is tomorrow :S

  • i am sorrry my teacher teaches me different method, i just don't want to get confused srry

  • @patrickJMT you should become a teacher!!!

  • @Austin9978com i am a youtube teacher now :)

  • Thank you soooooooooooo much!!! You've help me a lot!!!

  • what is a quadratic function anyways?

  • @dominicanreploca a polynomial of degree 2.

  • this is the same thing i learned from my math book, but the problems they tell me to graph are so hard. i watched this to see if you used a different and better way of doing it than my math book, but i now know that i must try easier quadratic functions before doing the ones my math book gives me

  • gud 1... this ws the 2ed method i learned .. 1st 1 ws finding 3 or 4 points x and y.

factorizing is bit bettr i guess....

    :)

  • one of the best teachers i've learned from so far!

  • At my school we use Saxon's books...they rly suck they give like incomplete information and don't really explain everything. But you, omg, i learn more from you than my freaking teacher.

  • @amanopatissiere2014 come watch any time, and spread the word : )

  • WOW you are awesome. thank you so much.

  • He's left handed xD

  • why aren't you my math teacher?

  • @pamnakajimaaa Because most teachers are horrible and want to make your life annoying and hard :(

  • When the question is: -3x^2+5 would I simply substitute the B as -3x^2+0x+5?

    (The ^ represents exponent)

  • OMG THANKS!! i didnt even understand a thing of what my teacher said when she taught this!

  • Happens all the time- "Shiiiiit i have a test on (insert math subject) tomorrow, and i don't know what to do! *Goes to subscribed channels *goes to PatrickJMC *Goes to math help video i need cause one is always there *Immediately understand what to do because you are such a good teacher! thank you so much for all the help!

  • @tybeedoo patrickjmc makes math videos too? : )

  • Thank you so much!!

  • so why exactly aren't you my math teacher . like umm like dead ass man yuh should teach at my school smfh i freaking hate math with a passion

  • you should be my math teacher!

  • Thank you so much for posting this video

  • @puredragon28 no problem, happy to help

  • you rock!! thank you so much :D

  • thnx dude

  • I have a problem that i really don't know how to solve and it looks like this: y = (x-1)² + 3

i'm supposed to label the vertex and axis of symmetry as well as graphing it. thank you.

    .

  • @shitferny Im not a 100% sure, but first off that's standard form, a(x-h)^2 + k. since k is 3 that means that the parabola moves 3 up from zero. since the h = -1, h is therefore +1 on the graph ( I don't now why ). Not sure if it helped but you could always use a graphing calculator.

  • YOU ARE SAVING MY COLLEGE CAREER, PATRICK JMT. Thank you.

  • Spents probably over an hour on this at 1 am, with a test in 5-6 hours, got pissed a few times but releif was given by this video and understanding and reading stuff over and over again, I thank you very much! Now to understand other stuff :/

  • very helpful.. thnx by the way..!! =)

  • Thank you soo much!!

  • You are boss

  • what if it's in the form "y = a (x-h)^2 + k"?

  • @helloclarissaaah Dude, then you have your work cut out for you because it gives you the vertex and the line of symmetry. In order graph it (if that is what you are doing) you need to plug in an x coordinate next or near to the line of symmetry and you have your parabola.

  • Test tomorrow, Must watch over and over again

  • i finally understand math!

  • god dam my fucking math teacher sucks come to havelock high and get a job here

  • Do does anyone know what it means to move like jagger?

  • still dont get it :(

  • People today and from many generations will log-on in to your account to start liking math.

  • @mercio6 that would be great if that is what happens

  • screwwww math =(

    but this video helped..

  • @SimplySum41 i would if i could

  • @SimplySum41 cause i think it is sexy hot

  • Thnk you it actually makes sense now cuz my teacher is like 70 years old nd he doesn't teach good at all nd for some reason he whistles nd snorts everytime he talks

  • @POW3RAiiDS old people makes lots of funny sounds. i will and you will too if we live that long

  • Life saver

  • THAAAANK YOOOUUU!! T-T

  • OMG I LOVE YOU! THNAKS SO MUCH!@

  • can you explain how to make a table of values instead of using that formula to find your other x coordinates

  • @xrodden you just plug in x values, get corresponding y values and plot points.

  • Omg you helped me out so much thank you!

  • watched this once and got it....been trying to figure out my professors teachings on this and got headaches trying to understand. Thank you for not skipping minor yet extremely important details. You are by far my favorite utube math tutor.

  • Excellent resource to use before a test or on a homework assignment! Thank you so much!

  • I missed a whole week of school, and dude, you really saved me. Thank you!

  • u fucking save my asss

  • thanks so much for the help!! very very useful!

  • Comment removed

  • Who's left handed around here? I AM!

  • excellent! :) :)

  • This is the second time you have saved my butt just this quarter. I sincerely hope I start learning in class instead of relying on you. It's just that... You are just so much more concise. My teacher prefers to drag things out so I lose interest really fast.

  • God has answered my call! THANKYOU SOO MUCH!!!

but one question! what do you do if the problem looks like this?

    f(x)= -x^2+8x+15

  • @VUnitxXx You learn it in the video.

-b/2a is -8/2(-1) to find the x in the vertex. You plug that in for f(x) to find the y in for the vertex. Then you find the x intercepts by factoring or using the quadratic formula x = ( -b +- sq(b^2-4ac) ) / 2a

Although if I were you, I wouldn't trust me because I just learned how through this video.

  • you are saving my IB year

  • Awesome! Helped a lot! (You are left handed!)

  • Oh my word!! You have NO idea how long I've spent in class trying to understand this and ONE 7min video explains it all!!! Can you replace my teacher??? You're wonderful thank you for posting these videos!! Midterm here I come!

  • been learning this start of the year.. never understood it.. watched this video. learnt in 7 minutes.. thanks sir. :)

  • @Jhpark95 glad i could help : )

  • His signature is his left hand lol, I had to rewind this like..10 times but atleast i get it now :) thanks

  • @nitemare771 I know XD! I noticed that too but it's totally worth it cause he explains it so much better than my teacher!

  • You make math very fun and enjoyable! Thank you :)

  • YOU ARE SO GOOD AT TEACHING!!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THESE ONLINE VIDEOS. I usually view them before a test or if I dont understand the home work. Thanks Patrick

  • @xgametime1 no problem : )

  • You are my hero! Thank you so much

  • @letsgetlostlynn glad i could help!!

  • I was looking at this video and realized I was not subscribed.

  • this video really helped thank you :)

  • OMG THANKS .. my teach is foreign so I've been self learning... but i have barley any time with work.. but this video is a real life saver... really needed help.. *^_^* thanks!!!

  • thanks!!you helped me for my reporting in my math class..

    i'm a student.

  • @zapkhalifa glad that i was able to help you : )

  • thank you so much you are better than my teacher, I can't understand everything my teacher discuss.. :)

  • thank you

  • yes it really helped me, i always use quadratic formula

  • I love you :')

  • I LOVE YOU!

  • thank you! your so clear and explain step by step, whereas some teacher just expect their students to know it all......

  • your a messenger from the math god.

  • i never knew it could be this easy..

though the technique taught to me is different than this. but this did help~

    thanks!^^

  • tnx for dis im 4th yr highschool & it really helps tnx ^^

  • Thank you very much! You make this look so much easier! ;D

  • Its Easy to me :D

  • i have a new teacher Mr.YouTube

  • thank you so much

  • You're a miracle worker, thank you so so much.

  • You are a beautiful human being <3

Thank you so much for your help! <3

  • God bless you Patrick! You're helping me pass this course Q_Q

  • Ah! Also...do you always have to factor out the trinomial? Because other instructors would just find the vertex and substitute simple values in for y. Or does it just depend on the equation?

  • When you graphed the y intercept, aren't you supposed to have a coordinate opposite that point? Or no it's just by itself unlike the x intercepts you plotted.

  • ILOVE U

  • Thank god there is someone that can teach this stuff!

  • thankyou so fuckin much i didnt understand wtf my teacher was tlkin about u jus made this alot easier and much more fun for me thankyou 1nce again

  • 6 people are really bad reacher

  • wish he was my math teacher :(

  • absolutely amazing teacher. Wish you were mine

  • 6 people obviously don't know what a good teachers is :)

  • you have helped me so much

fuck the haters give this guy respect

  • Better than my teacher, i hope i pass my final, thanks

  • awww thanku soooo much

  • Love you thanks so much!

  • way better than my teacher. she just tells you to look at the example and breifly explains it...terribly

  • actually its -11 not -9

  • @MrSwap00 dude your fucking retarded. 1-2 = -1 and -1-8 = -9

it is -9 not -11 dumbass.

  • @patrickJMT final...tomorrow...lifesaver...thanks... *out of breath cause brain is straining*

  • yea a lefty! thank you for the video i'm studying for the ECA Algebra 1 and these have been my pet peeves, i've never fully understood them until now

  • Thank you so much, i finally understand.

  • WOOOW my quadratic function is so much different

  • you have such neat writing.

  • wow, you are way too awesome!!! thanks so much for being clear and for emphasizing every detail you do. When i see classmates struggling in math i just recommend your website, there should be more instructors like you in my college!

  • what if all there is is the X2 and you have to add 0X and 0 basicly like this y=4X2+0X+0

  • Man your videos are helping me out alot, thanks

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • @simbakiller123 the video has 50,000 views, which is obviously a lot more than the 100 students he would teach in an actual school.

  • @jjjjjokerface just kids out of my math class through out the day, are about 150 of his views in 2 days

  • why can't someone like you be my teacher?

  • Thank you sooooooooooo much for this video!!!!!!!!!!! It cleared up my misunderstandings!!

  • Changed my grade! THANK YOU

  • You're awesome. This made no sense during my lecture and now it's like "Prfft. Piece of cake!"

  • this really helped, thanks

  • This was so helpful for me. Was ready to pull my hair out. Thank you

  • thank u for being better than both professors ive tried at my university

  • anything with ads is absolute crap.

  • b^2-4ac ≥ 0

    what mean by this then???

  • i have no idea what is going on :(

  • My teacher also used the way u tought but my class is really noisy so i didnt understand and this helped me out ALOT. :D THX ALOT!!!!!! ^v^ You are AWESOME!!!! and u ROCK!!!!!!! THZ AGAIN!!!!! ^v^ :D

  • Thanks, this was really helpful and easy to follow

  • Ok for some stupid ass reason I decided to go back to school, one of my required classes is college algebra. Well its been 20 years sense I saw numbers and letters together, and none of its clicking. here is something i need help with. 1) make a word problem that uses a quadratic Function and requires finding either a max or min value... I'm Lost....lol....

  • @crober337 Im also doing quadratic functions and lost!

  • god damnit i feel like smashing my head against a wall

  • you are so much better than my teacher. He's a coach.... explains it all...

  • @CLASSYxLADIES ha, that is too bad

  • @patrickJMT YOU ROCK!

  • @CLASSYxLADIES mine to hes a vollyball one

  • @CLASSYxLADIES the X coordinate intercept...DODGEBALL!

  • wow your steps are easier and saves up time to solve it!

    thx a lot!

  • this helped me so much!

  • Thank you so much! That helped a lot!

  • Dude your like the best. Best math teacher I have ever had

  • @simbakiller123 i have made over 900 videos - how is that not helping the world?
