@soreservas Cung Le is one of the few high quality dynamic strikers in MMA who have that crisp technique that actually looks the way traditional Martial Arts striking is supposed to look. @beargrylls3 Yep. I look forward to it. My how things change in one week. Check out my other videos for more Cung Le fights. I also have a documentary about Cung Le uploaded.
ALL OF YOU LOST YOUR DAMN MIND THING THIS FOOL IS BETTR THAN BRUCE LEE. BRUCE LEE WAS FAST AND POWERFUL AS HELL. NOONE WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD S HIM. DUMB ASS WANNA BE MMA FIGHTER OUT THERE. DONT KNOW SHIT!
@chlebik28 I'm sure that Bruce Lee could hold his own in a fight and probably would have done well in MMA if he trained for it and applied the skills he had perfected over the years. But he should be remembered more for his contribution to Martial Arts culture and philosophy rather than actual fighting. He was not a professional fighter so while he definitely had exceptional athletic ability and was a skillful Martial Artist he never proved he was a great fighter. Cung Le has.
@MysticNinjaJay YOu lost your damn mind. Bruce lee was the greatest fighter ever. he will kill anyone in MMA UFC WEC Everything. your a dishonor to Martial art for saying that.
@SuperPluto10 What I said is the truth. As great of a cultural inspiration as Bruce Lee was, as much as I respect his philosophy and dedication to Martial Arts he was NOT a Professional Fighter. Therefore we don't know how good of a FIGHTER he truly was. I imagine he was good. How good I don't know because I've never seen him in a real fight. Neither have you. And it is a stretch to insist he could beat any MMA fighter. Those are professional fighters who fight for a living. Bruce was not a God.
@MysticNinjaJay Okay, well my apology for being harsh. but Bruce was a great fighter. i watched all him movies bios and everything about bruce. hes no god, but a I know he was the greatest fighter.
@SuperPluto10 I'm a Bruce Lee fan too. But you should consider the fact that movies are not real. Anyone can look invincible in a movie. Bruce Lee was a great Martial Artist. He founded his own Martial Art, Jeet Kune Do which borrowed useful techniques from all styles. He trained with and taught some of the best Martial Artists in his time. But there is a difference between being a Martial Artist and a fighter. Martial Artists study how to fight. Fighters actually fight.
@SuperPluto10 So I do believe Bruce was a good fighter because he was a great Martial Artist. But I don't know how good because I never saw him in a real fight. I think Cung Le deserves respect for being an accomplished fighter. He has proven the effectiveness of Chinese Martial Arts in full-contact competition. I think Bruce would be proud of Cung Le. Cung Le says Bruce Lee inspired him to be a Martial Artist. People should not argue over who can beat who just respect their greatness.
@MysticNinjaJay All I have to say is Bruce was an amazing fighter, seeing him fight IS the best memory I have, and what you said is very true as well.
@chablehh Just remember recognize the difference between movie fighting and combat sports. Movies are not real. Bruce was not just an actor. He was a Martial Artist who demonstrated his talent through action movies. When Cung Le acts in movies he's not doing real fighting either. It's exciting to watch. I loved Bruce Lee's movies. Enter the Dragon is one of my favorite Martial Arts movies. But you should not base his fighting ability on movies. Bruce could probably not beat up an entire dojo.
@chablehh ...entire dojo of Black Belt students. He never competed in combat sports professionally. So I don't think he should be compared to modern fighters. IF he competed maybe he could be good at MMA. I think he would be. Jeet Kune Do addressed all ranged of combat. But he never competed as a Pro. I think he should be remembered as a great Martial Artist and teacher who influenced Martial Arts culture worldwide like no other. Cung Le compliments that legacy by being inspired by Bruce Lee.
@MysticNinjaJay He never competed professionally because he didn't want to, he preferred making movies and teaching, ang I wasn't arguing, didn't have to defend yourself, just saying from personal experience he was a great fighter.
@chablehh I wasn't defending myself. Just lecturing I suppose. You're right he was not interested in competing professionally. He did win an amateur Boxing tournament and was known to fight anyone who challenged him. Are you familiar with the conflict between Bruce Lee and Wong Jack Man? To this day the circumstances and outcome of their fight is disputed. I wish Bruce had fought for real on camera atleast once.
@MysticNinjaJay Yes I am! and I wish I had footage of him fighting to. But of course most of it would be a blur...he slows down in his movies and it's still really fast
@chablehh They slowed down the camera is some scenes to better capture his movements. He was incredibly fast. However the trained eye can pick up on fighting skills no matter how fast the fighter moves. You should see some Cung Le fights on my channel. Some of his moves are blazing! I've seen Bruce Lee do training such as kicking a punching bag in his back yard. He's certainly fast but but you can tell what he is doing.
I hope you are trolling. Calling a Professional Fighter who takes on all comers a pussy is beyond stupid. I am a fan of Bruce Lee and I am sure he was a good fighter but he never proved how good in professional competition. Cung Le did and deserves respect.
CungLe vs scott smith fight didn't even come close to the excitement of the ChungLe vs Frank Shamrock fight...that was a real fight and even Cung was almost got knocked out, but he came thru and won the fight with a big kick at the end to break Frank's arm. They both looked at each other when the bell rang at the end..Frank knew he won't survice another 10 seconds in the next round with the pissed off Cung Le.

@intergalacticpurifyR I think Frank respected Cung. They are friends and former training partners. But he believed that he could beat him. Frank did not personally insult Cung the way he did Phil Baroni. He simply pointed out what he saw were holes in his game and he wanted a standup war to prove that he was now the better striker because Cung used to beat him up in the gym. This was a good competitive fight between guys who respect each other. And what a fight it was.

@iitachifries Hm....Yeah, cause when your kicking ass in the standup you decide to be an idiot and try to beat him on the ground? That's why you stick to your STRENGTHS, dumbass.
@KyockLee123 Haha man your lucky i dont that i dont mess around with people online, id really bitch you out right now lol. peace out internet troll hahhaha!
I think Cung needs to win a few more fights then off to hollywood. He should play Kato in the green hornet. Maybe trim down to 175 just to give the appearance of the Kato we love, Bruce Lee. Or maybe do a remake of some of Bruce's old flicks.
Fuck.....I don't live in history...but Cung is fucking hero from Le family........Go, cung kick the ass whoever in your way......that is in our Le family's blood.....Do it...brother.......
Yeah, and he needs to get back into his training and get his conditioning back! But your right, one thing that I've noticed that Cung never has done too well is protecting himself against punches. Like he's got a great offense but his defense needs a little work, and it just took this fight to bring that to the forefront.
He rocked Cung momentarily but Cung recovered. Before the broken arm they were evenly matched. Without the broke arm the round would have just ended. At best Frank would have won the Round but because of the broke arm he nearly got knocked out himself. Oh and Shamrock is mostly Native American. He's not Irish.
Fighters get rocked all the time and recover. The fact is that Cung had recovered before he broke Frank's arm and was regaining control of the fight. Once Cung broke Frank's arm he was at his mercy. Frank was saved by the bell and ofcourse the rest is history. We can speculate on what might have happened but what did happen is reality.
Why hasent the sidekick been used in UFC or MMA??? Im not saying im badass or anything but I use it all the time and it works fine... Its very effective, it pushes people back, you can reach really far, I dont understand why everyone in MMA ONLY uses roundhouse kicks and sometimes front kick. I never saw any reason side kick was bad... Is it cause you cant use kicks like that to knees or something??? Sidekick has proven itself...I think its a great kick... UFC is killing alot of asian moves...
It's not a common move because most MMA gyms don't teach their students the kick as well as many of the advanced kicks that you see in Traditional Martial Arts. Cung Le has a TMA background so you see moves like sidekicks in his fights. He's living proof that it works and is an effective weapon. Josh Koscheck who trains with Cung has been using the side kick in recent fights though not nearly as often or as well as Cung Le.
Thats great, maby more people like Cung will join and actually bring more martial arts into mixed martial arts lol Looks to me like they were stuck with boxing and bjj... Nice to see guys like Cung and Lyoto show the world that asian martial arts arnt BS like alot of UFC meat heads like to belive, they were originally made to defend people and hurt the bad guys lol Not score points and get a huge ego like the USA made martial arts out to be... Long live the sidekick!!! lol
I know it's not gonna happen because Cung's in Strikeforce and because they are in totally different weight classes but I'd like to see Cung Le vs. Brock Lesnar. I'd love to see how well Brock's sheer strength and athleticism could stand up to Cung's sanshou techniques.
But Brock actually knows how to fight... lol He trains, being HUGE is just a bonus xD lol But that would be a cool fight if it was just a huge guy with no training, HUGE guy VS Kung fu xD EPIC WIN FOR KUNG FU LOL
Yah, you can't use front kicks to the knees in kickboxing or mma, only side kicks. Damage to the knee is still possible from side kicks, but front kicks do a lot more damage with a lot less force. That's why in self-defense classes they teach you to kick the knees like that, doesn't take much to totally blow out the knee.
Seems like sidekick to the side of the knee would work pretty well (Not in mma) I think MMA is a cool sport, but thats all it is, a sport. I dont think MMA champions should be seen as these undefetable human weapons. They are great fighters! But I just think a street fight would go differently for a BJJ master than it would in the ring... All respect to jujutsu and BJJ of course, theres always room in ones arsnal for ground fighting, but I just think in real life its not a good place to be lol
there is a lot of people that watch the sport or practice mma and think that its the ultimate way to fight but in reality its not. i was trained to fight in the street not the ring but i can fight with people that fight in the ring if i want to
thats just talk, prove it. what makes you think these guys that fight in the cage cant fight in the streets. i will go chech your profile out. i hope i get to see your skill that make you think you can compete with them.
first of all i never said that these fighters can not fight i said they live in a world of rules. I dont have to show you anything to show that im a good fighter or not. these are my opinions. If you live in a world of rules the way you fight becomes less practicle against someone with weapons or that does not play by the rules. i think they are great fighters but they are sport fighters!
yeah they are sport fighters, and are you a real streetfighter! i guess if you claim you can just step in the cage and fight with these guys, i guess we all can do it. like you said we dont have to prove anything. i think i can beat brock lesnar, what do you think. i am sure you think the same thing too.
im not unbeatable but nobody is. i dont care if brock could beat me or not because i would never fight him. i am a traditional martial artist and you and me have our differences but i dont have to do what you are telling me to. why dont you tell me what mma fighters really are? are mma fighters athletes or warriers? do they fight to save there lives or do they do it for sport?... i have nothing against them but their mentality of fighting is different then what it was intended for.
u know the vast majority of these guys work as bouncers and former military right?
bas rutton even released a video on street fighting moves
these guys r martial artists just like u and everyone else that trains they just have to fight in a civil way when theyre in the ring so saying they dont know how to street fight is basically the same thing as saying any traditional fighter thats competed in a competition cant either that doesnt make since
Rules...I am sure they can switch the "rules" on where rules are important. When they are in the streets they can easily switch the "rules" mentality off and do whatever they are capable of to defend themselves and survive. They are not stuck in "rules" world completely. It's not mentality, it's a "switch" and self control. They can "switch" to rules mode or survival mode, it's not that hard. And they are not that dumb.
You are exactly right. The fact that they don't go balistic and kill each other is due to self control which is so much more impressive than biting, hair pulling, nut kicking, etc., like what would occur on the street. These guys are animals, they can just control it.
Lets not be throwing Le at Anderson Silva just yet.
Let him get a feel for UFC competition. Have him fight Nate Marquardt first, then either Rich Franklin or Dan Henderson. If he succeeds there, he might as well be given a shot at Silva.
He should definitely have to work his way up. No question there. At this point though I don't see it happening. Cung has gone Hollywood. It's been over a year since he beat Frank Shamrock and he hasn't defended his belt. He still has 3 or 4 fights left on his Strikeforce contract and Anderson Silva says he will retire after 2010 so it's not looking good for this dream fight.
Why don't we stick to talking about opponents Cung has an actual possibility of fighting? Comparing him to a HW is rather pointless. I'd like to see how he does against Lawler, Misaki, Akiyama, Franklin, Henderson, Marquardt and Anderson Silva.
he would be a beast from hell if he did and wokred on more ground game when needed, but stand up like the announcer said "is nothing short of flawless"
Yes in Muay Thai Kickboxing Match, Muay Thai Rules. Baukaw would kill Cung Lee . As for size . Thai Fighters dont care about size . Look at Kaoklai Kaennorsing.
he makes me think of Gohan

I think Cung needs to win a few more fights then off to hollywood. He should play Kato in the green hornet. Maybe trim down to 175 just to give the appearance of the Kato we love, Bruce Lee. Or maybe do a remake of some of Bruce's old flicks.

he'd beat scott smith in a rematch he just got careless and over confident which results in KO's in 99% of fights
hardc0re100 2 years ago 12
Yeah, and he needs to get back into his training and get his conditioning back! But your right, one thing that I've noticed that Cung never has done too well is protecting himself against punches. Like he's got a great offense but his defense needs a little work, and it just took this fight to bring that to the forefront.

In other news - Cung Le sounds a bit like Chong Li the badguy from Bloodsport.
JonathanBloggs 2 years ago
Yep. And he's built like him too. The crowd also chants "Cung Le! Cung Le!" at his fights similar to Bloodsport.
MysticNinjaJay 2 years ago
Shamrock was winning at the end of his fight and he would have TKOd him had he not broken his arm the disappointing irish wanker
JonathanBloggs 2 years ago
He rocked Cung momentarily but Cung recovered. Before the broken arm they were evenly matched. Without the broke arm the round would have just ended. At best Frank would have won the Round but because of the broke arm he nearly got knocked out himself. Oh and Shamrock is mostly Native American. He's not Irish.
MysticNinjaJay 2 years ago
If he didn't want to be called Irish he shouldn't have been adopted into an orphanage that gives people irish surnames.
Also, unless you're Fedor being rocked in mma 9/10 times signals the beginning of the end.
JonathanBloggs 2 years ago
Fighters get rocked all the time and recover. The fact is that Cung had recovered before he broke Frank's arm and was regaining control of the fight. Once Cung broke Frank's arm he was at his mercy. Frank was saved by the bell and ofcourse the rest is history. We can speculate on what might have happened but what did happen is reality.

JHunted999 2 years ago
Why hasent the sidekick been used in UFC or MMA??? Im not saying im badass or anything but I use it all the time and it works fine... Its very effective, it pushes people back, you can reach really far, I dont understand why everyone in MMA ONLY uses roundhouse kicks and sometimes front kick. I never saw any reason side kick was bad... Is it cause you cant use kicks like that to knees or something??? Sidekick has proven itself...I think its a great kick... UFC is killing alot of asian moves...
GuamKomudo 2 years ago
It's not a common move because most MMA gyms don't teach their students the kick as well as many of the advanced kicks that you see in Traditional Martial Arts. Cung Le has a TMA background so you see moves like sidekicks in his fights. He's living proof that it works and is an effective weapon. Josh Koscheck who trains with Cung has been using the side kick in recent fights though not nearly as often or as well as Cung Le.
MysticNinjaJay 2 years ago
Thats great, maby more people like Cung will join and actually bring more martial arts into mixed martial arts lol Looks to me like they were stuck with boxing and bjj... Nice to see guys like Cung and Lyoto show the world that asian martial arts arnt BS like alot of UFC meat heads like to belive, they were originally made to defend people and hurt the bad guys lol Not score points and get a huge ego like the USA made martial arts out to be... Long live the sidekick!!! lol
GuamKomudo 2 years ago
I know it's not gonna happen because Cung's in Strikeforce and because they are in totally different weight classes but I'd like to see Cung Le vs. Brock Lesnar. I'd love to see how well Brock's sheer strength and athleticism could stand up to Cung's sanshou techniques.
fearfactor22 2 years ago
But Brock actually knows how to fight... lol He trains, being HUGE is just a bonus xD lol But that would be a cool fight if it was just a huge guy with no training, HUGE guy VS Kung fu xD EPIC WIN FOR KUNG FU LOL
GuamKomudo 2 years ago
Yah, you can't use front kicks to the knees in kickboxing or mma, only side kicks. Damage to the knee is still possible from side kicks, but front kicks do a lot more damage with a lot less force. That's why in self-defense classes they teach you to kick the knees like that, doesn't take much to totally blow out the knee.
fearfactor22 2 years ago
Seems like sidekick to the side of the knee would work pretty well (Not in mma) I think MMA is a cool sport, but thats all it is, a sport. I dont think MMA champions should be seen as these undefetable human weapons. They are great fighters! But I just think a street fight would go differently for a BJJ master than it would in the ring... All respect to jujutsu and BJJ of course, theres always room in ones arsnal for ground fighting, but I just think in real life its not a good place to be lol
GuamKomudo 2 years ago
i agree. finally i meet someone with true knowledge
JHunted999 2 years ago
lol I dont deserve such a praise, but thanks haha Its an honor to be the only person you ever met with true knowledge xD lol jk
GuamKomudo 2 years ago
there is a lot of people that watch the sport or practice mma and think that its the ultimate way to fight but in reality its not. i was trained to fight in the street not the ring but i can fight with people that fight in the ring if i want to
JHunted999 2 years ago
Yeah, but it dosent feel like a real street fight, its still has alot of rules that rule out alot of moves from Kung fu and stuff...
GuamKomudo 2 years ago
thats just talk, prove it. what makes you think these guys that fight in the cage cant fight in the streets. i will go chech your profile out. i hope i get to see your skill that make you think you can compete with them.
WarriorBlackBanner 2 years ago
first of all i never said that these fighters can not fight i said they live in a world of rules. I dont have to show you anything to show that im a good fighter or not. these are my opinions. If you live in a world of rules the way you fight becomes less practicle against someone with weapons or that does not play by the rules. i think they are great fighters but they are sport fighters!
JHunted999 2 years ago
yeah they are sport fighters, and are you a real streetfighter! i guess if you claim you can just step in the cage and fight with these guys, i guess we all can do it. like you said we dont have to prove anything. i think i can beat brock lesnar, what do you think. i am sure you think the same thing too.
WarriorBlackBanner 2 years ago
im not unbeatable but nobody is. i dont care if brock could beat me or not because i would never fight him. i am a traditional martial artist and you and me have our differences but i dont have to do what you are telling me to. why dont you tell me what mma fighters really are? are mma fighters athletes or warriers? do they fight to save there lives or do they do it for sport?... i have nothing against them but their mentality of fighting is different then what it was intended for.
JHunted999 2 years ago
u know the vast majority of these guys work as bouncers and former military right?
bas rutton even released a video on street fighting moves
these guys r martial artists just like u and everyone else that trains they just have to fight in a civil way when theyre in the ring so saying they dont know how to street fight is basically the same thing as saying any traditional fighter thats competed in a competition cant either that doesnt make since
blackeye240 2 years ago 2
all martial arts have rules in competitions so by that definition karate bjj etc arent effective in the streets either
seriously do u think these guys r going to hesitate to use a groin kick or eye gouge in a street fight?
hell most of these dudes work as bouncers or r ex military
traditional martial artists need to get over thiemselves and admit mma is better
blackeye240 2 years ago
Rules...I am sure they can switch the "rules" on where rules are important. When they are in the streets they can easily switch the "rules" mentality off and do whatever they are capable of to defend themselves and survive. They are not stuck in "rules" world completely. It's not mentality, it's a "switch" and self control. They can "switch" to rules mode or survival mode, it's not that hard. And they are not that dumb.
NtlgntNrg 2 years ago
You are exactly right. The fact that they don't go balistic and kill each other is due to self control which is so much more impressive than biting, hair pulling, nut kicking, etc., like what would occur on the street. These guys are animals, they can just control it.

Lets not be throwing Le at Anderson Silva just yet.
Let him get a feel for UFC competition. Have him fight Nate Marquardt first, then either Rich Franklin or Dan Henderson. If he succeeds there, he might as well be given a shot at Silva.
EnflamedSnowman 2 years ago
He should definitely have to work his way up. No question there. At this point though I don't see it happening. Cung has gone Hollywood. It's been over a year since he beat Frank Shamrock and he hasn't defended his belt. He still has 3 or 4 fights left on his Strikeforce contract and Anderson Silva says he will retire after 2010 so it's not looking good for this dream fight.

that would be so sad for the poor guy i mean come on against fedor thats like throwing a kitten at a pit bull

Why don't we stick to talking about opponents Cung has an actual possibility of fighting? Comparing him to a HW is rather pointless. I'd like to see how he does against Lawler, Misaki, Akiyama, Franklin, Henderson, Marquardt and Anderson Silva.

In what, Kickboxing? I think Cung would give him a good fight. Cung is alot bigger and has some incredible moves.
MysticNinjaJay 2 years ago
Yes in Muay Thai Kickboxing Match, Muay Thai Rules. Baukaw would kill Cung Lee . As for size . Thai Fighters dont care about size . Look at Kaoklai Kaennorsing.
Baukaw or Koklai either one would destroy Cung.
MasterPervy123 2 years ago
easily the best mixed martialartist now!
fatadam16 2 years ago
I like Cung Le just bcoz he prove that the BJJ/wrestler definition of a striker are:-
-Strikes are not easily connected...WRONG!!!
-Any strikes can be easily taken down, mount, and submit...WRONG!!!
-Strikers r easily fatigue from kicks or punches...WRONG!!!
-Physical trainning is useless in real fight...WRONG!!!
-All TMA is useless and ineffective...WRONG!!!
-M.A. must be all about fighting and nothing else...WRONG!!!
