This song brings back sweet memories of growing up in St Louis and cruising hot summer nights with KSHE 95 playing on the radio. What a truly beautiful piece of music!
K-SHE Sunday morning classics. , I recorded Barclay James Harvest - Poor Boy Blues; Mill Boys; For No 1, one Sunday morning on 8-track. Saw Chilliwack at the Keil with Styx and Ozark Mountain Daredevils at the Speakeasy in Breese, IL. I still have all my vinyl. Gypsy is coming to St. Louis, Sunday, October 2nd at Veteran's Memorial Amphitheatre in Jefferson Barracks Park
Ahh, KSHE in the early '70s; "Won't Somebody Lend Me a Dime" every Friday night for Duane, "Can't You Hear Me Knocking?" behind the news, and, let's not forget another 'lost gem' of a band; Aphrodite's Child- the 'ooks & grunts' behind their call-letters spot and that naughty noises song. And that sly pig.
I still have these guys 1st 3 LPs, and you can believe that I'm glad I still do. Now, where's that Mama's Pride album... Head East....Ozark Mountain....let's head down to the Kiel....
I remember KSHE reminding people that the double album of Gypsy was being broadcast complete and fans should set their reel-to-reel recorders for the 3:00 broadcast time. I recorded it and have never regretted that for one instant. Thanks, KSHE! and thank you, Gypsy!!!!!
Hey, St. Louisans! Remember when KSHE 95 used to play full albums with no commercials? Those were great days and Gypsy was a very popular band with KSHE listeners. Love this song!!
Thank you sooo much for posting this. Been looking for Gypsy for years and never thought to check YouTube. Excellent. They sound just as good as ever.
HI TUBERZ, I GREW UP WITH K-SHE WAS COOL BUT NOW A LOTTA COMMERCIALS AND SINCE I GOT MY MP3 PLAYER IN 06 HARDLY EVER LISTEN TO THE RADIO ANYMORE BUT YEAH WAS REALLY THE SHIT BACK WHEN
Can't imagine a better radio station than KSHE in the late 60s to late 70s. Fantastic compilation of the 'classics' that stlblair has contributited. Everytime I think of one I haven't heard in ages, I can find it under that moniker! Keep it up!!!
Loved this tune back in the day. My friends and I spent many hours listening to Gypsy, Mamas Pride, Head East, Pavlov's Dog and countless other FM rock bands. I live in Wisconsin now and miss KSHE, Ted Drewe's, Cardinal Games, Old Orchard, U City, Central West End, Street Corner Symphony at Kennedy's, Fantasy at Boomers. Thanks for the upload!
Ah, yes this is the real deal. KSHE has changed so much. They dont make music like this anymore. Thx from one STL native to another... Parkway grad of 78
Ahh yes, the KSHE-Classics. Thanks to John U, and all the other djs at the station in the 70s for introducing us to exceptional music. Too bad they went the direction they did (except on Sunday morning) - My brother and I loved this song. Thanks to youtube this music is still alive!! Music has gone the way of politics - horrible, commercialized garbage. Keep searching - I have found all sorts of wonderful tunes - just listened to Killer at 25 by Glass Moon.
I had no idea all these great classic rock tunes where here til a friend sent this link to me, AWESOME!!! Grew up on KSHE in the 70's also in the O'Fallon, Mo area. I have a great albumn collection, but wish this one was in it...LONG LIVE the 70's, the best music ever!!!! This tune should be the National Anthem of Rock-N-Roll.
Can't tell you how much I appreciate this upload. Like others, I listend to Gypsy's music on KSHE back in the 70's. Amazing that their music isn't available on iTunes. I think their original Gypsy album was out of production and going for big bucks around '77.
WOW!!!! I'm sort of from the St. Louis area too. Lived out in Union, MO and New Athens, IL. However, I remember this from when I was out in San Diego, CA while in the Navy from 1973-77. I have this on vinyl; one of my most prized posessions. Wish I could find in on cd, but until then - THANKS FOR SHARING!!!

been lookin for this song for a while now - couldn't rember who did it - and completly forgot the interlude in the middle! only heard it on KSHE like 35 years ago???!! Flog me! many thanks, Damien
I can't remember how many times I listened to this song and the album. What a classic. The Underbeats paid their dues to become Gypsy and produced some of the most original and progressive rock music ever to come out of Minnesota, and that's saying something considering the giants that hail from there.
When I was 6th grader, oldest brother did also and used to play this nearly every morning driving the rest of us to school-some things you never forget :))
Agreed, indeed, in fact: it sucks REALLY hard, if I may add. We'll never see music produced like this ever again, I'm thoroughly enjoying it so thanks for posting it -- PHX

One of the better bands to come out of Minneapolis in the late 60s. Rico Rosenbaum was a great writer and singer.
