@JesseLucKilburn Your Dad rocks! He was a huge part of my college exeriance back in the day. BTW. why was he out of the band after the Talk Talk Talk album?
I believe factory in this song pertains to working at a factory. The song relates to British working class life & uses sarcasm to express contempt for the nature of the established order of things. ........."I'm in love with the factory.....I'm in love with the BBC....I'm in love with your TV...their so in love with you & me.......we love you"
Why can't American boys ever look this fucking GORGEOUS/SEXY and ANDROGYNIOUS??.... Why are ALWAYS the English boys who've got that fucking MARKET cornered??..... It's a TYPICAL "English" thing that you don't find among other "music cultures"!!!....
"We Love You" is what Richard Butler, Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash are gonna be saying to me AFTER I've taken them to my bed and FUCKED them BLIND til their eyes ROLLED BACK into their SOCKETS!!!.... It'd be a fucking NUCLEAR SEXPLOSION, guaranteed!!!
Saw them too in '80. Hammersmith Odeum. Opened for Iggy. They were all between 15-19. I was shocked. They were that good. And, I had a very, very good time. I think that is the key. You cannot see the Furs and have a bad time. It is impossible. They are just...fun...they are Fun. Capital F. Cool.
Saw the original line up in 79 or 80? Was not what you call a great show. BUT, 30 years later I am going to see them live hre in Tampa next week. NO expectations just going to have a good time.
no , at least not directly. Factory is the place where Andy Warhol set up camp - Factory Records stole their name from Warhol. So, "yes" and "no" is the answer , or maybe more "no" than "yes".
Factory Records were named so because there was a factory closing down over the road from where they were opening the club that preceeded the label and they thought it would be nice to put a sign up saying "Factory Open".
@paintedlier uh no... I see no reason why that would make 'factory records' a reference to warhol's 'factory'. The building they converted for use AS factory records was a disaffected (abandoned) factory. So it was a simple, humble name they used to name the 'company'. They would have no interest afaik in using a reference to warhol since it would be boring and irrelevant.
He's all "psyched up" ( hey, that's an "unintended pun" right there!!! Lol!! ) because he's getting "ready" for my Peter Murphy/ Danny Ash ORGY at my "pad" after this show!!!
Man I wanna have a fucking ORGY with Richard Butler, Peter Murphy and Danny Ash!!! The 3 WISE MEN!! And the 3 most beautiful creatures in the fucking GALAXY!!! It is one of the LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE that says these 3 delicious androgynous boys BELONG IN MY BED!!! Fuck, yeah!!!
Thanks for inloading this clip. Not often do Eye see great visual AND audio records on hear that are new to me. 'Love is just a car like you that turns so blue and turns so blue....' Best Psyfurs cipher show everever? Adams Street Theater in Sandy Eggo, what, '82, maybe? Me my first exwife and her nouveau new beau and about a hundred other luckies plus Steve Wynn and the underrated Dream Syndicate! Man alive! Goodness gracious sakes alive! "Ahhh, fly me to th moon...."
The coolest group of guys to cross the pond thus far.
Love the way the symbols mix with Butler's voice when he repeats "sstop! Sstop! Sstop..." Also love the way this cut rolls into "Soap Commercial" on the original disc. The bass, sax, dual guitar, and floor toms are utilized to amazing effect on the first disc, and lifted to an entirely new level of achievement with "Talk, Talk, Talk".
Wow -- great video and sound. I'd love to see a DVD with these performances. What's funny is watching a proper sit down audience looking on. Yes, the definitive line up ... too bad they couldn't have gone on longer with it just when they'd reached their peak with Talk, Talk, Talk.
