Don't know about vinyls, but mp3 quality compared to wav (or any similar non-compressing sound format) is complete trash. Especially if you export the song you've made as mp3 straight from the software right after mastering it... even with multiband compressor... there is just... a HUGE audible difference.
Anyone who has recorded songs on a computer knows that or at least should know.
@TheFinlandnator well, there isnt much audiable difference from a 320 kbps cbr mp3 from say a flac or wav, but because this is on youtube the audio track gets compressed into 128/96kbps which is pretty damn noticable. theres nothing wrong with mp3s as long as they are encoded correctly imo. plus could you imagine trying to download a wav for every youtube video! this song alone would be ~50mb. @mcgrady7761 its a shame its come to buying mp3's to support artists. the quality is dull and if you study the history of sound frequencies and the sine wave you will see there is something much deeper going on than the ability to easily buy tunes electronically
@streetxlite have you ever done any recording? when you do you record in digital format u use wavs, for the same length song an mp3 is about ten times smaller file size, why? they flatten and compress sounds. there is a big difference in the sound, any non-superhuman can hear that. you cant take an mp3 into cooledit or cakewalk, and adjust tones for anything. keep it as a wav you can increase bass, fix vox to be more clear, add effects, etc. do some research......
@nivrin13 Not everyone can afford to. When I first started listening to Daft Punk, I had to pirate their songs because I couldn't afford to buy them. Then when TRON came out, I finally had some spare money so I went to see it twice, and bought the soundtrack on iTunes. I say if he CAN afford it, do. If not, he will when he is able to. Have u ever listened something...something..like this..can´t explain through words...u become the music...goes through u...waw..I´d like to meet Amon..where does he come from? :-D

Does anyone else find Amon Tobin's music to be some of the most depressing music they've ever heard? Depressing in a really beautiful, sleepy way, but still makes me unable to get anything done.

@pbyshelley thats because you look at it as depressive rather than uplifting. got to do with you not the music

@pbyshelley Your just feeling the music the wrong way... Just kick back, relax and close your eyes and enjoy the music... It will come to you.

This song is beautiful. I remember when I first heard it on the Toonami intro of Gundam Seed. I was hooked!

This. Polaris
(Zero 7), Red Dust (Zero 7), and Slowly (Amon Tobin) literally place me in an entirely different dimension. Changed my outlook on music forever.

There's no dubstep here. Trip-hop and IDM
tibifidus 1 year ago 5
what is IDM? I'm not educated.
VLADICADIDA 1 year ago
@VLADICADIDA IDM is inteligent dance music, like Aphex Twin besides Amon Tobin, who by the way is brazilian.

put in a bit of DJ food in there and you got real intelligent music=D
