  • I recognized that you shot some of this video on the square of Fairfield which is where I live. I love your music, and hope I get the chance to meet you sometime. I'm always at the Beauty Shop, would love to see you rap again(:

  • Hey Man,I think your sick. I am going to Appalachian State and heard you from around here. Just wanted to say I think your songs are awesome. Monte and Jeffery say hey

  • @turbotalon44 hellyea! Boone! thanks alot man, I really appreciate it! I have to come back out there again soon! tell jeff and monte I said hi! stay up!

  • yay!

  • way to rep Iowa. Check out Tajh a rapper from Iowa also he's is tight.

  • good work homie!

  • those shoes are awesome!

  • WHAT UP IOWA?! Thats the name of my new jam. Check it out. Just a quick little slide show all about the state we live in......

  • seems like a super chill dude

  • And obviously it's a day in the life video so it needs no explanation beyond "how come you didn't act more black?" "You know? Not so chipper and the panel thinks we should change the focal point from you to an assortment of faceless asses." "remember scowl! Like your art is being backseat driven."

  • embodythis

Relavance is relative. the lyrics as far as I'm concerned are in sync with the concepts in the video. He explains why he's in bed then proceeds by introducing himself, and narrating himself in regards to his purpose for addressing us all the while demonstrating the repoire he maintains by simply breathing. He then goes to the grocery, subtle, but any Iowan knows they didn't start calling them super markets for the expeditious service, nor do there lives not suck so they follow suit

  • nice as shit

  • Lane, I want to support your dream of being a greatly recognized artist which is why I'll give you this harsh criticism-- take it or leave it. I think your rhyme schemes are elementary and generic. They aren't thought provoking and they lack intensity. The beat is a big yawn as far as I'm concerned, and most of the music video imagery seems entirely irrelevant. HipHop is all about witty and insightful attitude and I'm not seeing it from you. Instead, I'm left with a sense of disbelief.

  • @thesteng and just because we are all being honest, all of the above can be said about your movies. Your "movies" may be fine in Fairfield but everywhere else in the world they would be considered shit. And I'm not alone on this. Go sell some more pot and make a movie about it.

  • @thekingkenj i'm not here to cast stones, obviously you are. i never said lane's music was "shit" and I certainly didn't claim be a know-it-all filmmaker. we artists strive on thoughtful criticism and feedback, and i'm not going to bullshit in that arena. if you have feedback for me, i invite it.

  • @thesteng Nope not casting stones at all. "your rhyme schemes are elementary and generic. They aren't thought provoking and they lack intensity. The beat is a big yawn as far as I'm concerned, and most of the music video imagery seems entirely irrelevant" That's clearly just encouraging Lane on his good work. Don't say "we artists" cause real artists can word their criticism in a way that encourages and inspires people to do better on their work. Don't be a buster Luke

  • @mmbtch Thanks for your feedback. You're right, I could have been more respectful in my criticism, but a part of me doesn't want to beat around the bush-- nor would I want someone to beat around the bush when it came to analyzing my work. Perhaps you aren't aware of a history that Lane and I share. He has contributed his music on multiple film projects of mine, and I believe he knows me to be an overall supporter of his work. I'm grateful!

  • @thesteng I concur...I mean no offense, though. I want to help if that's possible...I see potential...
