I'm an America Law student. I am conducting research on piratical attacks off the coast of Somalia. My goal is to bring an awareness to the causes of piracy off the coast of Somalia and hopefully help restore order in said Somalia to end piracy. I know, it's Utopian in nature... but, the walk of a thousand miles begins with one step.

As a somali who has´nt seen his country since 1977, i´m surprised that our once great nation has´nt claimed the Socatra islands. Geographically they are much closer to us than they are to Yemen. I´m just waiting for all this crap to end so i can move back to my motherland & build a house on africas longest cost, Bajuuni islands are beautiful, would love to live there someday, you even captured my parents town of Burco, which i´ve never seen before. keep up the good work :)

woow beautiful country we have. 20 years ago Somalia was considered the most beautiful country in Africa. Not only were we rich and power nation but People all over the world respected us as Somali, brave and beauty. But terrible things happened and changed our life. We as a nation need to learn from our mistakes and go forward on new path. Yes we can, we can change our situation to a better one if we sincerely work for the common good of Somalia rather than tribalism etc. Thanks for sharing.

sorry, i hardly found those pictures in the net. the problem is not many people travel there, so i recently found out that Somalia even had islands. you also would found the beautiful grassing land of the south. all we see is the semi-desert of the north.
