  • carmelo anthony is the closest thing to being compared to bernard king. antawn jamison is distant second imo.

  • They don't make players like that anymore

  • I remember back in the mid 80s, me and a couple of guys would try to shoot jumpers with our fingers taped. One of my friends wore a white T-shirt with "KING 30" on the back written in magic marker. King was the truth!

  • Bernard would destroy Carmelo. Even with 2 dislocated fingers.

  • 100th of a second 1inch separation is all it took .Hard as nails too I saw him land from the top of his jump he got under cut hit dead's center on his tail bone you could hear the impact iin the nose bleed seats. For sure he's not going to continue but no he shakes it off and played like nothing happened . I thought he's down the game stopped player on both sides were scared. That dude is a bad ass

  • its a shame that King and Ewing never played with each other in their primes, they definetley would have won a championship

  • King had a bad knee injury at the height of his career. He missed a whole season and when he came back he wasn't the same guy. If he'd stayed healthy and had another three or four seasons like the ones he had before the injury he'd be considered one of the top eight or ten players of all time.

  • Benard was not only the pride of Brooklyn, but of New York City has a whole. He might not make the hall of fame, but he is one of the very best who have ever done it. Brooklyn stand up..

  • No question. He's one of the top 5 small forwards ever.

  • Did Bernard King like passing at all?

  • You mean like Jordan?

  • Jordan was a great passer but doesn't look like this guy really attempted and I checked his stats and it confirms my theory

  • haha no Bernard King was not known as a great assist man. But he sure could put the ball in the basket

  • I'm sure if he had Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant on his team, he would have passed more. Why would you expect a small forward to rack up Guard assist numbers? A career 3.3 assists per game is respectable for one of the best scorers in NBA history. He was also a great defender.

  • Well spoken. BK was the quintessential forward. Lord-willing, he will be in the 2009 Hall of Fame class.

  • None other than Dr. J states that Bernard King is the best player he ever played against then was Larry Bird and Marques Johnson. That is all you need to know about Bernard King. College Legend, NBA Legend and Playground Legend!
