  • Very sorry to see America go this way.

Most Americans were warned by President Eisenhower about the Military Industrial Complex as being Un-American Subversive not to serve in it.

They were warned they will become like their counterpart enemy the Russian Military

Infiltration under the guise of US Military uniform

Pretend to be what they are not including President of USA

Work secretly against the population by depopulation into overseas wars while supply their enemy arms to kill Americans

  • I didn't make it to this one, but a friend of mine, Maggie Roth, went and met Norman Mailer..please remember 1) an undeclared "war" 2) Pentagon Papers later proved all the lying being done about it which we knew from independent reporting 3) those days at 18, you could be drafted but not vote 4) smoking pot was a felony but at 18 you could legally buy alcohol 5) Eisenhower sent the CIA into Vietnam to subvert - sabotage popular movement under Ho after WWII - who fought Japan & then French

  • @chlpatent Great reminder of what was really going on!

  • I love these bloodthirsty statistics, almost like they wish they could have shot more protesters.

  • They had newsreels in 67??

  • @thutmose4 Hearst Metrotone News did, at least this was the last year for them.

I think you can tell from the narrator's tone that the generation gap was in full swing.

  • no i wont leave the usa cause i dont like, i wanna stay & fix it cause i love it

  • you wouldnt have had to protest if you had let someone with more brain to be your president, peace

  • this makes reading "Armies of the Night" a little easier.. :3

  • Why are anti-war protesters not doing that today?

  • beacuse they have brains and are not on acid

  • NO it is because they are not being drafted against their will to die in a jungle by people who have not attacked the USA. When the government comes and picks you up from your house to go die you just might protest the war as well. It is easy to do nothing and just talk when you have nothing to lose.

  • first we were assistin nort vietnam because south vietnam whanted to spred there comunisum to north vietnam what they did not want.thats what america does assist and when your nation calls you serve them.and if you do not like that then leave

  • First you need to review which was communist, north or south. And If your country is NOT doing the right thing it is your duty to try and change the policy. NO Americans do NOT blindly follow any leader into any invasion of another soverign Country. That is what NAZIS do but NOT Americans.

  • @enkelin32 Well done ... absolutely. Young boys were being plucked from their homes to fight. They couldn't vote and couldn't drink, but their country wanted to turn them into killers and die!!

  • Because the man won.

  • eligarf,

How's that Imperial Japanese Navy and Imperial Japanese Army thing working out for your guys?

Rape any cities like Nanking lately or just resting up for the next one?

Do the Japanese practice bayoneting babies or is that a native talent?

  • raolderning, it is people like you who make America look like a terrible country. I love this country though it has faults, which country doesnt? Also I am serving in the Army but I know where to draw the line in the sand. I for one wouldn't have supported the 'nam War.

  • StargateFan2389,

LOL, bet you're a General already.

    I don't believe a word of it.

You're parroting all the "progressive" mantra by rote.

    If you're in a Army, it's Castro's.

And kid, you're nat allowed to say "'nam". That's for adults.

  • @StargateFan2389 there actually are wars that you support? what the hell?

  • raouldeming

From what I've read recently, ACTUAL hippies who were too busy getting high to be political, were formed and led by people like David Crosby and Frank Zappa, who were children of military families and who had graduated from military schools.

The actual war protesters looked like well-dressed middle class youths, church members, and families. People who take Jesus' message of peace seriously are considered commie traitors if they defy Washington politicians and lawyers.

  • dilbertgeg,

You need to change the bonk water, too many impurities will fry your brain.

You've told so many lies in that post it's impossible to know were just to start.

  • I disagree...this could almost be the march 2007 march on the pentagon. I was there and this could be a video of it if the narrator substituted "vietnam" with "iraq"...History absolutely repeats itself! Amazing

  • What company were you in? I was there as an MP from Bragg.. C Co 503rd. Hell of a weekend.. We should be protesting this government in that manner today.

  • We were the 118th MP Co, XVIII Airborne Corps, usually Command HQ guards/receptionists, general's drivers, riot control. Came in from Corps HQ.

  • OK. I remember your company was down the street. I don't remember you guys ever doing any riot control when I was there from 66-67. I remember some of you going out on patrol with us one night about a month prior to going to DC. I got out less than 10 days after returning to Bragg from DC.

  • We played your company in basketball occasionally. IN DC, we had Pentagon, Eternal Flame and other guard duties... Sort of got into civies and joined in the crowds when we were Off Duty...probably caused riots at the NCO club on Fort Lee and elsewhere.

  • There have been comparisons between Vietnam and the war in the middle east. And people are protesting it. Students for a Democratic society is back on and running again after it faded away in the late seventies. But this year there on March 19th, all SDS chapters nationally are going to converge on washington and protest the war. Great day too, 19th is the anniversary of the war in Iraq!

  • Very interesting after 40 years to see/hear a slice of history that my military unit and civilian friends clashed in. I'm from Baltimore. My MP unit from Fort Bragg. Schoolmates/neighbors discovered me. We had a reunion. Today I protest man's stupidity, inability to create peaceful means of making our planet better. We are still a very primative species.

  • There's no draft now, so nobody gives a damn about actually actively opposing the war.

  • that is a LOAD of CRAP

    nobody? ha ha not funny.

who do you hang around besides apathetic types?

there are millions, no, hundreds of millions around the world ready to take this shit on. watch your backs!

  • No, my point is correct. There is passive opposition, in the sense that the average person within this country opposes the war. However, active opposition is still quite rare and it is because people don't actually have to fight. Only about 1% of the population has had to fight. Also, learn how to discuss issues in a civilized matter. Thank you.

  • where's Norman Mailer?!?

  • not sure what daniel said above, but the people in the 60s sure had more gumption than the sheeeeep in the usa today.

dormezvousheeeeep!? you think BU$hitler was elected? LMFFo

but its not funny cuz people are dying and starving because of greeeeedy assholes who don't need to be called Mr. let alone pre$ident.

    fix your country america.
