  • I had no clue what you were making at first, but near the end I started to understand. Amazing job! I hope with practice i can do this as well!

  • @cakephoria Oh I have so many questions. What do you do with the pieces you carve off? Is it weird to make or eat a cake that looks like some other type of food? How long does this take you? Do the cakes ever, like, settle and fall apart? Nice job, and cool choice of music!

  • brilliant cake. just a query tho why use a piping bag to put the fondant on with. why not use just a nomal off set spatula?

  • @pist43

They didn't use a piping bag to put fondant on, fondant is the sugary white dough that this person covers the whole cake with, they use the piping bag to put the buttercream on which is in between each layer and then covers the whole cake under the fondant. If you meant why do they use a piping bag to put buttercream on, well that's just because it's a whole lot easier and neater.

  • That is insane cool! How long did that really take you? Looks like very hard work. The giant hot dog cake looks awesome!

  • 44 people hate hot dogs

  • a hot dog cake id be so fat after eating that!!! love tht video!

  • Chocolate hot dog.... I WANT IT :O

  • May I has the leftover stuff... like.. the ones chu cut off XD I'm good at that.

  • that was awesome

  • i dnt like it

  • Your carving is absolutely spectacular, but to be honest, your fondant work seems a little messy =/ I feel like you could've smoothed it out a lot more and made it seem more professional, because you seem to have a lot of talent

  • Ahh wasting the cake lol

  • wow this is so awesome!!!!

  • Very clever i didn't get it until near the end, but well done to the cake maker and designer, and for putting this all together now this is clever camera work an extremely good vid.

  • lol that was very cool :)

  • how did you dirty ice it without it crubling and also do you cut your cakes frozen?

  • first i thought it was a toaster, then a loaf of bread, then a hot dog lol

  • The fondont covering is slopy

  • Impressive carving. Is it hard to color fondant? Does air compressor size matter?

  • nom nom nom

  • hi is there a recipe for the cake? looks amazing!

  • is the whitw thing you wrap around the cake is clay...

  • awsome

  • Wat is dat cake

wat is it is it a wasup wtf!! ill giv itt 2 out of 10 lol

  • I do cakes as well, and you'd think that a cake decorator would eat while they work and nibble on the off cuts. But I find that while I work I don't even think about it. I'm just consentrating on getting the cake done. I just get all the off cuts on a plate and get them out of my way. As for the Fondant, have you tried making your own? I make marshmallow fondant and have received lots of compliments. I don't like it myself, I prefer buttercream.

  • how would you cut that cake?

  • Hyper speed awesome cake! :D

  • what happens to the cut off cakes?

  • Well i dont no whats a fondant but i no it is this white thing so is it made out of fabric.......thanks

  • @lataibasil No, its not fabric, its totally edible made from sugar. Its a very sweet chewy dough type substance, fantastic for decorating cakes with :)

  • OMG!!! now thats a hotdog sandwich..err CAke!1 nice though..iLovit!!

  • that was so fabulous!! i wish i had your skills, always wanted to cake decorate!!!

  • Your work is Awesome !

  • omg, I would have never guessed the design^^

  • awesome! sooo creative =)

  • the cake is a fucking lie

  • i my god, it's grose, cuz it's a cake but it looks like a hotdog. it's so well done that it makes me feel all weird when i think of eating it. lol

  • Yes um no offence to u or ur skills but ur fondant work was a little messy from the corner and the sauage end

  • really, cake is good

  • thats pretty good I wish i had those skills!

  • Neat!!!!

  • this is sooo cooool

  • what did you use for the middle part of the cake, like the icing stuff tht kept the cake together or do you have any suggestions on what I could use to get the fondant to stay on the cake? Last question. How do you pronounce fondant?

  • I used chocolate buttercream as the filling and on the sides to make the fondant stick to the cake. As for the pronunciation, I say "fawn dawnt". Some people say "fawn dunt". Not really sure if either is right or wrong.

  • oh, ok thx.

Is there anyway to make the fondant taste better?

The last cakes I made, the fondant didn't taste great at all, it's too sweet.

  • Just try a different maker of fondant. You may like the taste of fondx or Satin Ice.

  • @VanessaGublerMoore I made MarshMallow fondant and found it tastes Much better than the store bought, it's easier to work with, and you can adjust the measurements so its the consistency you like as well as put in flavorings.

  • @VanessaGublerMoore try marshmallow fondant it tastes great!

  • i clocked at 2:56 what it was

  • that's amazing!!

  • Best cake ever! :P

  • LOL A hot dog

  • The cake looks delicious!

  • I'd eat the pieces you cut off. >.>

  • Cute! :P

  • love the music.

  • You are talented!

  • wow ! amazing!

  • k what do u do with cutten cake. Well if u throw it is such waste

  • he uses the excess cake

  • its a grooms cake you fools not "the wedding cake" and I think its fab! bravo!

  • lol a hotdog cake, cool

  • That's so clever!! i was trying to work out what it was lol!! Umm Hotdogs!!

  • THAT CAKE LOOKS DELICOUS! I'm not sure I would want it for a wedding though. For a wedding you would have a beautiful white 3 tower cake with ribbons and iced on flowers and leaves. (Sorry if it seems too weird but thats my ideal wedding cake that I have been dreaming about since I was a child)

  • but i still dont get..when u had to spread the icing anyway why did u pipe it?n anyway it was hidden with the fondant n u had another 3 layers on top..then y did u pipe like crazy?,,lol

  • he probably piped it so it would be even or something

  • You don't get cake crumbs in your icing that way. At least thats why I do it, not sure if thats their reason though :)

  • the only real reason behind the piping is to get an even amount of b/c on there. that way, you can keep your cake level :)

  • so it would taste luurvley! lol

  • Wow thats awesome!!!!

  • i meant kind**

  • what king or brand of fondant do you use?

  • FondX is good...Satin Ice is good too.

  • lol very funny... i like it!!

  • that was cool... but what a waste of the scraps of cakes. but yay ya.. that was still aawesome.

  • They weren't wasted. Everything gets used.

  • see now that's VERY AWESOME.hehe.

    great job.

  • thats freaking awsome good work

  • tight ass hell!

  • great video (except for that awful music - had to mute!). Figured out what it was after the red spray.

  • i would gain SO MUCH WEIGHT if i ever worked at a bakery ;)

  • omg i said the same exact thing...because all those scraps of cake would not have gone in the garbage..lol

  • i guessed it was a hot dog cake at the beginning because of the shape

  • looks good and im hugry lol

  • Amazing!!

  • Fantastic!!!!!!

    It looked so real.

  • A-Ma-Zing.

    Flat out. You've inspired me.

  • I am so glad that you use the waste...kudos on that and the cake.

  • Hail to the cake master!

  • If I were you I would eat all the cut off cake! but turning them into cake bites is probebly a better idea. I would eat the cake bites too, though..^^

  • Its amazing!

  • what kind of cream do you use? and how did you make it? also how do you get your bread moist? mine usually comes out dry

  • I did not mean to post that xD

  • shaga waga gogo

  • at about 2:06 I thought it was going to be a toaster!! The end result was fabulous by the way! What do you do with the cake you cut off?

  • Thanks!

The cut off cake gets dipped in ganache and turned into cake bites. :-)

  • What do we call the spray that you used to decorate the cake?

  • hi i was jus wonderin u just use a compressed air can then hook up the gun to it rite ....ive never seen an air brush like that.... just like the ones with the compressors,.,.,.,.,., and how much would you charge 4 that cake ,.,.,. what r the sizes thank you so much

  • I like the can better than the compressor...it allows me to be more mobile...I can easily get around the whole cake with the can. This is about a $400 - $500 cake...it was about 10X20X8.

  • hi i just wanted to ask what kind of airbrush you use? and what kind of edible paint? thanks

  • I use a really simple airbrush gun that I bought at a local hobby shop. If you need to do fine lines then you will want to buy a high quality gun. As for the "paint" I use Kroma Kolors. It works really well and I've never had it gum up the tip.

  • I started out craving cake at the beginning of the video, and now I kinda feel like eating a hot dog.

  • omg i was woundering wat that was going to be awesome!

  • what do you do with the cake that you cut off? lol

  • haha! same thing passed through my mind =D maybe its cause i'm a bit of a pig xD origninal cake though..i'd love one of those for my birthday ..=]

  • Very cool. Never heard of a groom's cake here at a Chicago wedding but its a fun idea.

  • what did you make the cake for like a contest or do you just make awesome looking (i don't know if it taste good but i think it would) hot dog cakes

  • It was a groom's cake. There is a tradition, mainly in the Eastern half of the US, for groom's to get their own cake that is something funny or reflects their personality.

  • Please explain to me: why do I have to go all the way around in circles and go through the trouble of refilling the squeezy-thing all the time if in the end I just smooth it all together anyway and could have just dumped a big part of it on there and smeared it around evenly from the start? Or is it that it doesn´t get that even if I do that? (I´m not a good cook and I´d really like to know) It looks really great :)

  • It keeps it even. I only do this if I'm stacking a lot of cake together and I need it to be very straight.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks a lot, that makes sense to me :) Sorry for the beginner´s question ;-) It really looks fantastic!

  • Amazing!

  • THATS AWESOME! As if hotdags werent already amazing!

  • that's hilarious!

  • Very cool video. Cake is the best dessert.

  • who all prefers butter cream icing to whip cream icing? me, I like the butter cream better.

  • I like butter cream way better.

  • What does a hot dog have to do with a wedding? :P

    Btw, great cake:D

  • Lol. In the South, we have a tradition where the groom gets a groomscake and the bride gets the traditional wedding cake. So the groom gets to pick out whatever he wants for his cake. There are some pretty strange and random cakes as a result. :)

  • i would so completely go to town on eating those extra shaven off cake bits. (:

  • Hi! I have just looked at the picture of this video, and I am sad for that, becouse this video is so cool and it's fun to see how you make your cakes. This cake looks pretty realistic but it's a bit bigger than a normal hotdog :D. And I also want to say: Good job! So much, :). Byebye!

  • is that chocolate whip cream icing you are using to bond the cake layers? If so, could you share the recipe? I do not like swet icing, but enjoy whip cream frosting on cakes, they are not too sweet. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

  • WOW, OMG, LOL, my mom doesn't even like Turkey Hill Ice Cream b/c it reminds her of meat, so this is pretty funny, she would so not eat this cake!!! So cool.
