Overall, this addon looks like the real thing, but there are a number of significant innaccuracies that don't correspond well with the T-6 checklists, especially at startup, most notably how the avionics, engine data and PMU are represented. And yeah, the EADI is fixed, which is a rather puzzling oversight. So I agree with teqsinterrier; it's disappointing; but still fun to fly.

This model is disappointing for many reasons, in the very least:

-The most fuel the Texan II can carry via gravity feed refueling is 1200 lbs--not 1400.

-The EADI (attitude indicator) is fixed!

-Engine startup by normal means is impossible because the starter switch does not behave like it needs to. (I could only get it started with CNTRL+E)

I just have a quick question about this video. I have the IRIS T-6 Texan II and i love it, (even though the price is a total ripoff) But, were all of the other aircraft in this video (the other T-6 texan II's that werent going to take off and just sat there while the other 2 took off), was that multi player and those other T-6's had people flying them but just sat there for the vid, or is there a scenery or traffic mod or add-on that can have your add-on aircraft be traffic. thanks!

They were placed via FS-recorder tracks, so not exactly static scenery or AI. Google for fs-recorder, you can do some fun things with it.

Yup, but they are slightly different aircraft. The Texan II is based on the Swiss Pilatus PC-9 airframe, but modified by Beechcraft, with different ejection seats, avionics, and some structural changes. The Embraer Tucano is also based on the same airframe.

Thanks Nason, glad you like the movies. My PC specs are on my channel page, I kinda got tired of typing them out several times a day haha. :) As for the framerate it isn't all brute force hardware. I'm very careful about setting up my shots in order to avoid fps 'holes'.

FSX will in fact use all 4 cores, and quite heavily with sp2, though I'll be restricting it to 3 when recording, leaving one free for fraps and background processes. And yup I'll post improvements on my blog after a few days. :)

Hi Bola, my specs are on my channel page (yes people ask a lot haha) but I'll write them here: core2duo e6600 (@3.4ghz), 2 gigs 1066mhz ram, nvidia 8800 ultra. You should consider my processor an absolute *minimum* for decent framerate. Get the fastest intel processor you can, that's the most important. All AMDs are too slow. Good luck.

It's not traffic, I filmed it in multiplayer. And not sure what you mean by hi-def. Youtube is always low definition, regardless of the resolution of the source.

Thanks, and you're correct, it doesn't have the power to weight ratio needed to replicate dogfighting in a modern jet, but I think it would be excellent for that kind of training personally. It teaches you conservation of energy through necessity.

Thompoux, I use fraps to record the videos, and I do most of my shooting in formation flight with my friends in multiplayer. The planes you see flying are piloted by them, I'm flying a stripped down aircraft that is really just a camera platform.

Thanks Ricco. I use a track-ir 4 pro, that's how I get the smooth movements. You can buy them directly from naturalpoint, and they absolutely transform FSX. Best single hardware upgrade you can get short of a good joystick.

My dad knows a guy who is selling his marchetti to get one with a JetProp (turboprop) conversion! (I expect that my over-exagarated use of exclamation marks is starting to get on your nervs by now)

Thanks Wout, glad you enjoyed it. Every movie I've done has been harder to make than the one that came before it, and this was no exception. As for the music, it's actually really hard to find royalty free tracks that don't sound cheesy, 'corporate' (barf), or just downright lame, and I've listened to a *lot* of them haha.
