  • I remember watching one Braves game when Bob was attempting to steal second base. Bob was never known for his speed on the bases, so it was unusual to seem him try a steal. But, as he was sliding into second, the catcher threw the ball to the second baseman, but the ball hit Bob in the helmet and knocked him out. The amusing part was that his slide carried him safely on top of the base, where he laid until he revived. I wonder if he still talks about that play?

  • Thanks for the good years in Atlanta, Bob! From a long time Braves fan.

  • Injuries derailed his career..solid hitter and player.

  • I was a big fan of Bob Horner growing up. Without his hip and shoulder injuries, he probably would have reached 500 homers.

  • @GustoPizzaCo The man had an amazing ability to turn on a pitch as fast as anyone. He had the quickest wrists of any baseball player I've ever seen.

  • Glad to say I'm on Apollos baseball team

  • Looks like he's not worried about the weight clause in his contract anymore.

  • bob horner was my favorite player as a boy-i just think what might have been should he had stayed healthy-i still cherish my 1979 topps rookie card of him

  • And one of the few major leaguers to hit 4 homers in a game!

  • I used to love that compact swing of his. Great to see him enjoying life.

  • YES! Hall of Fame!! Great slugger.

  • @harryhawk5 Great slugger.... yes! Hall of Fame? .....no!

  • 82 was a magical season...longtime Braves fan...that was my favorite group..used to watch the replays at 3am on the Superstation. Great days.

  • If he could have stayed healthy...he would have set a few records...just a compact swing that could generate such power.

  • 老けたなあ~さすがに。

  • i think that bobs terrible batting and hard runnig make a great contribution to japan baseballs level up.

  • ボッブ、久振りー!!ホーナーショックはみんなよく覚えてるぞ!

    bob,hello!

Japanese people remember "horner shock" in 1987 !!!

  • Maybe the greatest college player ever

  • One of my favorite Braves from the 80s

  • the biggest 80's slugger,,,,,if only he stayed healthy,,he would still be playing
