I wouldn't sink any more money into that old motorcycle. Its just not worth the effort. I mean, you may have only paint $50 - $100 for the bike, but no matter what you do to it, its still a hardly davisin. I would just cut my losses, and junk it. You made me laugh when you spun the tire! Could you imagine what a little 600cc Japanese sportbike could do to that old hardly davisin?! So, just give a thought about that. I would suggest giving up on this lost cause. Hey, you've at least learned.

I am getting a Street Bob 2011 for $12K. I have been asked to get a Stage 1 upgrade for $1500. Do I have to get it?? And was also asked to buy warranty for 5 years. Please let me know what you guys think. Do I really need Stage 1 and extended warranty?

@MrChutzpah2002 Stage 1 is pretty important as the bike is flat without it, HOWEVER 1500 is insane ! you could easily do it for 1000 bucks and thats using good gear,, ya know sometimes i think HD dealerships are a total bunch of wankers !

@marshall1gibson that was the first ever Pintail we made, they are now a wee bit larger and the seat pads are all Gel filled so for me they are are 300 mile seat,, around about that distance you are ready to take a break :D

for the sake of your testicles i would love to see you add some kind of fender to this bike i have ended up on my fender after hitting a big pot hole, something small that hugs the rear wheel and moves with the swingarm would not ruin the lines of the bike any way thats my 5c worth , other than that its a kick ass bike 10/10 for styling thanks for sharing

A quick observation/question, if I may:

I noticed that the bike has (what appear to be) the original mid-controls. A lot of my reading on the Street Bobs (and subsequent modifications) leads me to conclude that installing forward controls seems to be a very popular aftermarket choice. However anecdotal it may be, I tend to read that drivers over, say, 6' tend to do this often.

If you don't mind me asking, how tall is the rider in the video? Do you prefer the mid-controls?

@bobcarr72 I ride a 08 street bob I am 5'5" and after a 300 mile ride on it I switched to forward controls. That was the best decision I have ever made. With mid controls your knees are just in your stomache, they are ok for around town but thats it.

Thing is they are machine out of one solid piece of 60/61 and run to £400 ! but they are the nuts, just such a great piece of engineering :D
