  • Khan is one bad ass mutha! This has got to be one of the best of the original Star Trek shows.Ricardo Montalban really did a superb job in this show.

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

  • Khan is Pimp.

  • @TheLandis18 Wow,youre right---

  • @TheLandis18 Wow,youre right---never noticed that when I watched it as a kid-----of course,I didnt know what a pimp was back then. ; . /\

  • 4:15 one of these days spock is going to lose it and knock mccoy's block off. then my life will be complete.

  • why in the hell would the starship's technical manuals be available to anyone?

  • The last world war was a killer.

  • It would be nice to see a Star Trek miniseries that depicts Slobodan Milosevic as an augment, but that kinda trivializes genocide.

  • "72 alive, 30 of those are woman *wink*"

  • What the fuck i dont watch you tube for comericals

  • @scotts2134 You do now. Thanks Google.

  • Great $1.09 bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter) at kindle!

  • I like Kirk's face when they first step on the transporter: "Why in the hell was I not aware of this historian we had? More importantly, why have I not banged her yet?"

  • Hmm were they drinking ROMULAN ALE at dinner? O.O........ it looks like it but thats impossible at this point in the series.

  • The 90's were actually pretty freaking sweet!!!

  • 45:44 - Did...Kirk just beat Khan's ass with a computer knob?

  • @ 27:11 Khan's fascism slips out. lol. Great episode.

  • When Khan want a woman Khan take a woman.

  • Kirk looks so much more handsome in the show than in the movies AND now! Well he was younger but still. . .How do you go from Captain James Tiberius Kirk handsome, to chubby crazy old guy? I still love the Shat Man though. He'll be loved forever.

  • @utscuba Too much booze and too many pork shoulders.

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

  • i kept expect kahn aka victor to say "Hi, I am Victor, and I know many things about unloading cars on beautiful women" and the luxurious seats are stuffed with eagle down and the dashboard inlaid with the beaks of a thousand eagles."

  • God I love this show.

  • Comment removed

  • dont you love how they straight out show you Mr Shatner's Stuntmans face.

  • MontalBAAAAAAAAHHHHHN! wowl Im just scratching the surface of this series.

  • ricardo took her away in a stylish new cordoba with fine corinthian leather

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

    what?

  • this is freaking awesome

  • One more thing. And I'm sure it's been discussed often, but it makes NO sense, just plain ILLOGICAL, that Kirk would allow Khan (or any other stranger) to have access to the technical manuals of the ship.

This is especially puzzling because while Khan is going over manuals, Kirk and Spock are discussing that he is 20th Century "Napolean.''

The writers failed big time here. Would have been more believable had McGivers given Khan some kind of "access code'' to the info after he seduces her.

  • Here's what I don't get: I know Khan needed McGivers' help to take over the ship, but why did he stick with her afterward, when there was so many hot genetically engineered babes from the Bottany Bay. One, in particular, was smoking, blond with big, pointed ta-tas. You see her lying in that glass apparatus near the start of the show, when the landing party beams onto the Bottany Bay.

  • @Masturbov: @Masturbov: I couldn't make out Ms. Blondwith in the dim silhouettes but your question got me thinking how much Khan enjoyed his dominance over McGivers in the scene in his quarters? Perhaps his co-genetic cohorts don't give such a cruel thrill. Here's what I don't get: after so many years, how come nobody's fainting from morning death breath? No, jk. But ever notice the actor cast as Khan's son in "The Wrath of Khan" reasonably favors McGivers? Clever, that. Or just coincidence.

  • @Masturbov

i agree with you. And its not like he was taking mcgivers to help him populate his own planet. She was genetically inferior to him and his kind. She would of been a weak link on so many levels. Khan should have known this.

  • @vRaZ1el Obviously he was overcome by her especially pungent pheromones.

  • @Masturbov Maybe he likes them skank.

  • Oh man.......that redhead......mmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • epic...

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • look at that derelict ship built in the 1990s! what a piece of space junk.

  • damn, khan keeps his pimp hand strong lol

  • Is it just me, or does it seem rather easy to over ride the bridge from the engine room? Wouldn't it of been smarter if they added a special something in the bridge that wasn't on the computer system, that they could use to over ride the over ride in the engine room?

  • @MsRomanticAnarchist What if the invading aliens/terrorists/etc. took control of the bridge? Then any effort made by the actual crew would be thwarted by the enemies on the bridge. Wouldn't it just be easier to program the ship's computer to distinguish the actual crew of the ship by fingerprint, voice recognition, etc. so that any intruders wouldn't be able to control the ship, no matter what part of the ship they control?

  • @daricsoldar That's why no one knows about the one in the bridge except for the captain. But alas, your solution is better. But still. It just seems to easy to take control in the engine room while everyone else is on the bridge

  • @MsRomanticAnarchist Yeah. I understand where you're coming from. It made more sense in "First Contact" when the Borg Queen was able to take control of the ship from engineering due to their technological superiority, but not as much in "Space Seed". A bunch of 20th century people with very little understanding of 23rd century computers were able to override it. That would be like Isaac Newton transporting into our time, and being able to hack into the FBI mainframe. lol.

  • Khan is kinda hot with that big ego x D

  • Am I the only one that keeps having trouble getting through the first 10 minutes without it randomly freezing up and and not starting back up? It's really startin to piss me off! And its not because of a slow connection speed or anything! I have dsl! KHAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

  • @johnnyterrible I seem to be having the same issue.

  • @johnnyterrible yea keeps happening 2 me 2. Idk what's the problem with it

  • Khan is such a pimp.

  • Wow only on Star Trek do we see officers working.....Where are the enlisted folks? I am surprised to see the Enterprise is moving with JUST officers driving the Enterprise.

  • LMAO, why is there always a self destruct?

  • oh that makes no sense, uhura says communication channels are jammed, and a few moments later Kirk can communicate with scotty in engineering. 35:20

  • I always loved how Kirk's face said "Dammit, there's a dude on board who's hotter than me and I'm pissed!" throughout this episode! XD

  • I just have to say I like it thanks

  • Glad I lived through that last world war. *whew*

  • @Supuhstar

He was in space though, so it matters not.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 .... huh?

  • @Supuhstar

You said something about surviving a war. I wasn't sure if you were talking about khan or not.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001: Oh, I get it. I think SS was being ironic? It's a context thing. Back in 68, Roddenberry was sciencefictionally forecasting our WWIII in the 90's. 90's came and went, and we all survived the Eugenics war. [Ahh? See what he did there?]

  • @LincolnLLoyd

Oh okay I wasn't sure if he was referring to khan in that statement or not.

  • @Supuhstar i was in the group who forced khan into his exile..........a interesting time

  • the most epic part of the whole episode is at 45:02. fer sure.

  • Another fight for power in the Engineering control room? They really need to put a backup control somewhere....

  • From this comes Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan.

  • How did I know? I had a hunch that Kirk would overpower a man with superhuman strength in hand to hand combat.

  • I can only associate the title "Space Seed" with the image of Kirk fillin' up all the space-ladies with his intergalactic sperm.

  • Alright, everybody say it: KKKKHHHHAAAANNNN!!

  • Ricardo Montalban is irreplaceable as Khan. Any attempt to do so would Fail and be a dissapointment. They should Not Try. A Reference to the type of Botany Bay spaceship could be made at some point. I sat this Film on the day after it opened in 1982. Khan stole the Movie in every scene in which he was in.

  • totally cracked up when Kirk said, 1990s! Epic fail for humankind, or epic win, since WWIII hasn't happened yet... we should have hope if we keep Sarah Palin from holding any office.

  • MacGiver is on this one???

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

  • yeah...Captain, just give the rude stranger complete access to all of your technology secrets...lol...dumb ass!

  • The infamous episode. I think they should have castrated all of the men before they placed them on Ceti Alfa 5. It's funny to think that Chekov and Sulu did not appear in this episode. Yet Khan claimed that he new Chekov in StartTrek 2: The Wrath of Khan.

  • Ricardo Monteband - even his name sound sexy.

  • Kahn is really pritty right at 33:00

  • ricardo montalban as gene simmons o my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Khannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

  • I think Kahn read "Mystery Method - The Venusian Arts Handbook" and took it to a whole new level. I mean the guy almost took over a spaceship!

  • is his name jim or james kirk?

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! ( I couldn't resist saying that! )

  • @sebringf1 Lewzer! Scream iit to ur mom then xD

  • "MacGyvers" ? as in "multiple-individuals-with-an-insane-but-cool-affection-for-tube-socks-and-ball-point-pens"? wow. I love it when names are eerily familiar.

  • They never made a Plastic Model Kit of the S.S. Botany bay did they ?

as a kid i built th Enterprise 4 ttimes :) , 2 Klingon Battle Cruisers, Space Station K -7, 2 Galileo Shuttlecraft, and Spock standing on an Alien Planet in summer 1974. I still have that one ! i still hav the Romulan Bird of Prey i made in 1976 in the basement.

My older cousin was a Captain in the USAF by 1980. In his old room hanging from the ceiling were the Original Klingon Battle Cruiser and the Original NCC-1701 kits.

  • @Roadracer987654321

I had the NCC-1701, the D-7 battle cruiser, K-7, the Romulan Bird of Prey, as well as the Number 2 Phaser, communicator, and tricorder models when I was a lad.

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

    I couldn't help myself.

  • 34:41 a pilates class broke out on the enterprise...

  • @dslcobra LOL you hussy!

  • @dslcobra Agian you show what an idiot you are. Like I said Ricardo was born in Mexico City , nowhere near L.A....

What we now call L.A. was never called Mexico City but an ignorant fool like you wouldnt understand that.

  • @dslcobra Ricardo was born in Mexico City idiot.

The filthy European Whites taught the Native American/Mexicans how to walk upright.

  • Kirk runs a tight ship. No room for mistakes under his command.

  • Gene Rodenberry always had a message in each epsiode and in this one he is clearly warning us of a Mexican takeover of America. Oh how accurate he was...

  • This is how most North Americans were introduced to Sikhs! A Latino (Ricardo Montalban) mona, evil superman was - for most North Americans - their first introduction to Sikhs. The actual word "Sikh," I think is used only once, by dear Marla, and that was enough.

As with all the original Star Trek series, I saw this first run.

  • Oh Kirk..."Better to REIGN in Hell"...and he wasn't Lucifer anymore, he was Satan.

But I guess you can't be an awesome Starship commander and a Milton expert at the same time.

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of my favorite episodes.........Ricardo Montalban ooooo la la!!

  • The reimagining of Trek is an abomination. If it got you to watch the classic stuff, then so be it.

  • I've watch the original star trek reruns off and on through out my life but I never see Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan movie. I decided to watch the first episode with Khan to get a little back story. I have to say the comment Spock made in 48:54 is very interesting when you take in the account what happens in the movie. Good episode

  • HELLO, YOU TUBE - LOWER THE VOLUME!

  • @Bestmanme08 You are a loser spammer!

  • I love how they're talking about the whole selective breeding thing and that's exactly what's happening now. Star Trek predicted the future, just ten years off...

  • hello #VIDEOPOSTERID#, pay a visit to stream episodes [dot] net to enjoy complete episodes as well as movies considering that youtube wouldn't permit these kinds of videos.

    Space Seed

  • i'd like to know how a vessel that looks like a frying pan is more air worthy then the ancient flying craft they encountered.

  • What the F was that ending?! There's not nearly enough genetic variation in that group. Minimum, they need about 10,000 people. They'll be marrying their siblings in no time.

  • too bad we didnt hear Kirk say: KHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN XO

  • What a prescient episode! A charismatic lady's-man ruling the world in the early nineties; a new reckless, callous movement towards genetic engineering; the beginning of a new dark ages. I guess things are about to improve and we'll be able to travel at light speed in 8 years.

  • Comfy looking hibernation chambers :)

  • Lt. McGivers fell in love with Khan at first sight. Notice how she gasped in horror when he almost died in his hibernation chamber.

  • oriental

  • 34:29 NO. that is SPOCKS thing!!!!! you "signature move" stealer!!!!

  • "Well either choke me or cut my throat -- make up your mind."

For all his complaints about the occupational hazards and annoyance of Starfleet, McCoy really is a badass.

  • Kirk was too abrupt to Uhura -he only has respect for Spock.

  • This was a great episode. This was the idea for Star Trek II ,and Kirk is more famous for His overacted scene Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Khan = chauvinist pig

  • McCoy has balls the size of walnuts

  • O.o That space vessel is from the 1990's???

I have to get up to speed with the news! I wasn't aware we had already engaged in deep space exploration!

  • @InfectedDaemon Hehehe guess we're behind on predicted progress.

  • @InfectedDaemon Well, you have to put things in perspective; this series was made in the late 1960s, man was on their way to the moon just over a decade after the very first artificial satellite was put into orbit. That was quite an amazing pace; had things stayed on pace, a ship like that may have well been possible, it wasn't warp capable and was certainly not a deep space vessel.

Noone expected that the space program would go completely stagnant after Apollo...

  • Great new book (Did these stories really happen?), at amazon, has Shatner dedication!

  • yooo CBS, drop by stream episodes [dot] net to be able to watch full episodes and movies seeing that youtube wouldn't allow these types of videos.

    Space Seed

  • 48:00

Its only too bad that the planet became a barren wasteland shortly after, and Khan became bitter about Kirk's decision to strand him and his people on the planet.

It would have made for an entertaining episode in Star Trek: TNG, or even a Voyager episode to revisit Khan years after he was stranded, only to find a civilization that was solely based on Eugenics.

  • i still don't get all the wierd philosophies this stuff is subtly trying to convey. Athiesm? Stupidism? Nonsenseism? can anyone explain the mind of Gene Roddenberry?

  • @TheChaseair. Gene Roddenberry envisioned a series in which writers can tell a moral tail with a fare and balanced look at subjects that are relevant to modern times. Space Seed showed the subject of genetic engineering, an endeavor that some scientists were trying to achieve from the 30's- the 60's. It touched on the pluses and minuses of such an endeavor and made the point that it is a bad idea.

  • the thing i like about the original series is that you can watch the seasons backwards and they still make sense(unlike the movies)

  • Comment removed

  • khan ?

  • All of the commercials make me forgot I am watching this on the internet. Way to make youtube a joke CBS.

  • ha ha 1990's I wish XD.

  • Bill Shatner dedication in great new book (Did These Stories Really happen? at amazon)! Michelle Bernier is author!

  • Ooops "The Wrath of Khan"

  • Where can I pick up one of these old circa 1990 DY-100 class ships? I've been watching ebay and froogle like a hawk and nothing coming up. I have got to get off this shitfrut planet full of retard monkeys.

  • LMFAO,too much

  • ill throw my savings in on that!!!!

  • @cobrachoppergirl loook em up on amazon

  • @cobrachoppergirl - LOL I just happen to have a slightly used model DY-100 with leather interior.... ROFL

  • If this episode didn't come out, then there would be no Wrath of Khan.

  • Is it best to watch the star trek movies after finishing certain seasons or could you watch the movie without even having to finish the first season and still understand whats going on in the movies?

  • Good question - The first feature film came out 10 years after TOS. In my opinion, the movie writers made very few connections with the tv show, often as inside jokes. The only TOS /movie plot tie-in was "Space Seed" and "The Wraith of Khan".

  • @TheAmerz. You can watch the movies first and still understand. But if you really want to get into it, I suggest you watch all of the episodes first. But what ever you do don't watch Star Trek 09. It will confuse you, because it erases everything but Enterprise. True Trekkers will not acknowledge Star Trek 09 as cannon because of this.

  • Ricardo Montalban and his fine Corinthian Leather!!

  • What the heck did Kirk knock him out with a caulking gun? Was it loaded with cement?

  • my god, did Nichelle Nichols have great legs...

women on tv today dress far too conservatively

  • I hate women of today, they have their own lawyers.

  • I must say this is by far one of my favorite episodes, simply because it shows the power of forgiveness. Though, to be honest, I would have sent Khan and McGivers back to the Botany Bay and fired a photon torpedo up their tailpipe.

  • Dirty Bitch, you can never trust a woman. Then we never would have had Star Trek 2, one of the best!!

  • Agreed. But I have always wondred... How the hell did Kahn recognize Chekov?

  • @VeediotCommander. Well you have three choices of how Chekov knew Kahn. I, the author of the novel said MacGyvers was dating Chekov. 2, Ricardo Montalbán said they met in the bathroom. 3. Make up your own idea. My Idea is that Checov was in charge of Khan's "relocating" to Cet-alpha 5. It's the only thing I can think of that matches Khan's hate filed voice when he said "I never thought to see your face again."

  • It is a possibility. I guess it's one of the Trek Mysteries that will never be explained... Unless Enterprise was going to do something with it. lol

  • @VeediotCommander if you watch the special features, they say how it was a mistake, and they had never actually met!

  • LOL FAKE KIRK STUNT DOUBLE 45:25

  • KKKKHHHHAAAANNNN!!!!

  • 31:00 - 31:50 Spock's reaction is hilarious in this scene. He's all like "What the heck is wrong with you people?!"

Honestly, I think Kirk did feel some genuine admiration, at least for Khan's leadership abilities, which is why he exiled him on Seti Alpha V instead of sending him to a prison somewhere. Too bad it comes back to bit him in the butt later...

  • Kirk owns Khan!!!! What kind of punk trys to steal the enterprise, and murder the captain. After they saved his damn life.

  • OMG! Khan's wearing a shirt!

  • This is why Khan will always be 1 of the greatest villains ever!

  • WOW the dang commercials are a little LOUD

  • This first time we meet KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

  • love this ep. first time i saw this i asked myself ; "The main bad guy isn't a woman! will kirk have to 'experiment' in this episode?" jk but i love it :P

  • ummmm.... whats with the long ass political debate. and how come whenever i try to watch this, it keeps saying "error. please try again later" ? i wanna watch star trek! :(

  • Star Trek invites political debate.

Try clearing out your' browsing history, that works for me.

  • nice ballet shoes khan be wearing

  • am i the only one that is highly annoyed by this political talk on youtube comments? sure if it was an obama speech or something be all political you want BUT NOT A FRICKEN STAR TREK EPISODE!

  • @staffcarguy: iknow what you mean......people need to shut there fuckin stupid ass political faces and enjoy star trek.....you know....late

  • @staffcarguy To be fair. Part of Star Trek was that they made subtle political statements. Remember the "hippie" episode?

  • @Petersworld518 ""The Way to Eden" -An inferior third season epp that I detest. "A Private Little War" is a better example.

  • @BillTheWaterDrinker BLASPHEMY!!!! lol

  • I never watched Star Trek before. Honestly I paid it no attention until I saw that new movie. The movie (in my opinion)

was awesome and I've now begun watching all the older stuff I missed. Great stuff I must say!

  • Very true. It's amazing how good some of these stories are, especially with The Original Series, which wasn't really meant to start a 50-year Trek dynasty. With the movies and TNG, they already knew they had a legacy on their hands, so it's understandable they tried a lot harder, but these original episodes were just meant to be cheap TV... turned out "accidentally spectacular."

Kind of like the first Star Wars (I guess sometimes things turn out best when you DON'T try too hard).

  • I've gotta rent wrath of khan! Apparently this was only the beginning of his unpleasantness.

  • @mmcclain66613 the new movie was bull shit tho. i dont like the new captain kirk he is a spoiled brat-manchild, spock never falls in love and in this movie he is this emotional freak . Uhura was never this bad ass chick. chekov didnt have blond hair, and he came in the 3rd season. scotty was in studied in star fleet, not some ass hole who joined them out of no-wear. and before there was kirk, there was christopher pike. the new movie was shit. it was made for teenagers.
