I finally got a corn zipper that I had ordered through a fundraiser and am so excited about making these! But. . . ... all the farmer's markets are out for the season, so I will need to go to the grocery store for fresh corn. We live in Ohio, but I can get my hands on husks without a problem. I hope I can get some good, fresh corn. Next year, I will for sure, go nuts when the fresh corn is harvested!
@dburns163 I am very excited about making them! Thank you so much! I am subscribing to your channel & look forward to whatever else you have in store! :)
@clamor6 Thanks so much for your reply! Try these, they are to die for! Please let me know if you have any questions. Depending on which region you're from, the corn husks might be an issue. There are alternatives such as banana leaves, or just deli paper. Do you have any requests on future recipes?
@clamor6 I use the Anaheim, or Hatch chile. I char them under the broiler, or on the grill. They are then put into a plastic bag to steam for 20 minutes. Then they are ready to remove the skin. If you like the heat, don't remove the seeds. thanks so much for watching. Try them, they are delicious!
Thanks for posting this! I've never made tamales but am going to attempt to this weekend. I've read a lot of recipes but seeing it being done is very helpful.
Those look really great, Don! This video was really educational for me! I've never cooked with corn husks or steamed in paper, and I've never seen a corn cutter like that! I loved the video...Thanks for making it. Have a beautiful day, Don!
I wanted some thing different to make for tamales and I came across this recipe. I am so glad I did, they came out so yummy!!!!!
