The Maxxum 7D was a great camera, beautifully made too. I think Sony should've kept the Minolta name on their photographic products, maybe it would even increase their sales. But that's my only gripe with the camera, the Sony logo. Other than that, I apploud the camera. Especially for NOT having the stupid live view, gimicky video capture, and for NOT having the cheesy pop-up flash. Beautul camera, sans the awkward Sony logo slapped on it. I'd prefer the Minolta logo very much.
Very interesting but: SS does not move the large sensor *further* to compensate for shake - that remains the same, pixel by pixel, as the shake is on an APS-C sensor; also, *large* mirrors do not make for brighter finders - they provide fuller non-vignetted coverage with longer/more telecentric lens designs. Effective silvering/coating, and a different semi-silvered transmission split for AF, would produce brighter viewing.
thanks WDC for another brilliant and informative alpha video. I think you might have just cost me £2K :o) - also i have watched hundreds of these type of video interviews with company execs and this guy knows his product, really informative. Great Video Nigel and WDC team. Now i gotta start saving........
