@sexycaseyjr uhh if that's a B.E. Myers glare mout it cost about $6K, I've got one and its bad ass temperarily can blind a person and its waay better in person! lol
united states needs to stop being pussies and lift the ban on high powered lasers that do permanent blindness. that is just bullshit and saying all that crap. war is hell and we need to give it to those mother fucking turban wearers. give them what for. truthfully in war there are no rules. the rules are to survive and not get your ass kicked.
@daalienx14 I don't think so. It depends with person how to use this laser. Your statement is completely wrong and it is like "united states need to lift the ban on kitchen knife that can do as weapon or kill somebody."
@daalienx14 the dazzler is simply a nonlethal area denial system. in cases like this, the fighting is guerila style. therefore, its hard to tell who is innocent, and oyu can just shoot up everyone.
Trust me, there ARE very very powerful lasers coming to the battlefield as we speak. Look up the Airborne laser. it has the capability to blow apart an ICMB from hundreds to thousands of miles away. there are handhheld systems coming soon
I understand some of the intended uses, but for these applications being demonstrated in the video it seems that police-style flashing lights would have been as effective. They would also have been much cheaper.
A flashing light would give away the convoys presence to everyone and from a great distance which is not something you always want to happen, while the use of the laser pointer allows pinpoint targeting of problem vehicles alone, it also acts as a good way to direct fire onto a target although an IR designator is better as the bad guys can't use it to aim back at you.
A laser pointer seems a much kinder warning than putting a round through a vehicle window.
People are confusing the term "blind" with "damage". If I cover your eyes with my hand I am "blinding" you, but not causing any permanent damage. A laser causes permanent damage by thermally burning the retina. The reason the laser flashes is so that there is no permanent damage, so while they are "blinded" and they may need a few seconds to recover full eyesight (like quickly looking at the sun) tests have shown no permanent damage as long as NOHD is observed.
Wouldn't this just be the analog of flashing the high beams? And if not, isn't it kind of irresponsible to be "dazzling" people all over town? Not that I particularly object. I find it pretty funny ^_^
you are stupid, its not to make them stop, its to make them move out of the way and spook them, you obviously dont understand the purpose of a dazzler
It's ok, lokivoid.... they're laughing WITH you not AT you.......
Watch a few videos from the inside of a vehicle in a convoy. This laser really does help. You can keep being negative if you'd like, I really don't care.

Cant you see them saying that NOHD is observed at all times? How is that irresponsible?
NOHD = Nominal Occular Hazzard Distance.
Means they arent blasting people in the eyes with it, which on these units, would most likely cause permanment blindness.
But, what is irresponsible, is pulling out in front of a US Military Convoy, nearly causing an accident.
I guess we could just go back to the old-school way... the way we USED to do it... and just KILL ALL OF THEM.
But thats not nice
