This is SEE - a sign system. Even then it is SEE that I've never seen before. This is not ASL, which is a sign language. HUGE difference. Also, SEE is not used by the majority of the deaf community.
For those of you wishing to communicate with a Deaf individual who uses ASL do not use this as a resource. There are plenty of ASL resources made by Deaf people out there that will be accurate.
hi! i was thinking about saying this in asl, but i realised im not good enough :D
thank you very much, the videos are great! i would ask u to do a video with phrases like ''what would u like to drink'' im a flight attendant and i always feel bad when i have to communicate with someone only by pointing fingers... thank you so much
I;ve wanted to learn asl my whole life. I finally enrolled in a beginners course at my college for nest semester. Hey I know how to finger spell at least :)
I like what you are doing, going slow for beginners to follow, facial expressions, etc. so not trying to knock you or anything but as an intermediate signer with deaf family- this looks more like SEE than ASL. The grammar is English, not ASL so shouldn't it be labelled as such?
This may be a weird question, but are you left handed? I've been looking at a lot of ASL videos and had been wondering if being left vs. right handed would make a big difference or cause any complications when signing. Also, you're very good at your vocalizing =)
I am new to signing and your videos are REALLY helpful! thank you! And I like that you say the word when you sign it - that helps me a lot! But, I have no idea what the 2nd half of the video said. *smile*
thanks for the very good video it all made sense i have alot of deaf friends at school And would love to speak to them in sign langauge !!! =) thanks alot but I have one question are you deaf ? sorry if its a stupid question.
Thank you for the instructional video. I am trying to learn ASL to communicate with my Deaf Sister. I never learned ASL before, because she has some hearing... but I realize that just doesn't fly any more!
I enjoyed the 1st 1/2 of your video. However, the 2nd 1/2 of your video had vocabulary not covered in this video. And it was too fast to follow for a beginner.
I look forward to viewing all your videos and being able to keep up with you - and a Native Deaf signer.
According to some online asl dictionaries and rescources, simpler motions are often used for common frases. However, if I sign according to "English grammar" will most people still be able to understand? Thanks. Very helpful video!
Thankyou, My sister is volunteering with a group of young children, some of which are deaf. I can't wait to show her this video. It will be incredibly helpful to both of us. You are a blessing. A.
I am a police officer, and there is a deaf janitor at one of our bus stations. He often comes into the office to report that there is a fight going on, or that something else is going on that I need to come take care of. I would love to be able to communicate more effectively with him, like asking him what the person looks like, what the person was wearing, what was going on, etc.
I would love for you to make a video with some of these signs. Thank you!!
i love this it really help

i really appreciate this, i've been trying to learn asl for a long time, and it's hard to just go out and teach yourself.
how did you come about learning asl?
TRUSTlikeMIRR0RS 2 years ago
It's not ASL, it is SEE, signed exact English. SEE, is not a language. Please don't confuse this with ASL. Most Deaf do not know SEE.

Signers usually sign with their dominant hand (if you're right handed you'll favor your right hand).
The signs are universal between hands. :]
