Work it out - If she had known that was incorrect, she wouldn't have said it in an interview with him, knowing that he would immediately refute it. So what would be the point? It's not rocket science.

Another point. If Bryant had not overreacted to her error in the way that he did, this video would never even have been uploaded because there would have been no story and no grounds for its sensationalist title, which, ironically, is very reminiscent of a typical headline from the Murdoch press.
If he had kept his cool and his dignity by politely pointing out her error, instead of launching that pathetic, defamatory and abusive rant, this discussion would not even be taking place.

And people should ask themselves why Chris Bryant is spending so much time, both on TV and in Parliament, pursuing this matter when he should be representing his constituents, as he is paid to do.

The fact is she SHOULD have known about it, because it's a) in the public domain, so therefore very easy to find out, and b) because she was interviewing the guy about the thing she didn't know anything about!

@felix3840 Well she DID kind of lie to be frank...She said he could have changed his PIN to avoid having his phone hacked into, and he then said it had nothing to do with his PIN number. This is all stuff which is being (or was being) investigated, and all in the public domain. As a result her failure to research properly COMBINED with her statement "you should have just changed your PIN", means she DID lie, and has absolutely no grounds to sue him for libel.

@BoJanglezzzzzz What you wrote makes no sense. She mistakenly told him that changing his PIN would have prevented the alleged hacking because she didn't know that his PIN was not the issue - and we only have his word for that, BTW. So she didn't lie.
Work it out - If she had known that was incorrect, she wouldn't have said it in an interview with him, knowing that he would immediately refute it. So what would be the point? It's not rocket science.
