So much have change for me doing videoblogging but I'm still coming back. Thanks for the shout out. Let you know I have new page and that my old account is deleted but on my own will. So I hope you come by and vist my new and my 2nd page now.
'Shameless' have done a great job with their packaging and films too. Ive got them all apart from 4 or 5 i think. "Who saw her die" is a great film. Done on shameless too. Case/Iris is a great film too! you should enjoy it! Argento must be my fave Giallo director. Nice vid btw. Feel free to check out my channel and web link. im sure you'll find some films of interest. See you around!
damn. i think ive watched some of your videos before and took some suggestions from you. but do you have any videos of you just showing your DVD racks? you gotta have....(checks thesaurus) a shit load of filled shelfs.
i have some of the movies..gonna look for the others..specilly Umberto L..love nightmare city..but Giallo..Profondo Rosso..Italien version..and of course Tenabre..well you seem to have your hands full anaway..have a good one..gonogazz
Great video! You should check out Amuck!, Black Belly of the Tarantula, Death Walks at Midnight, Pensione Paura and some Argento movies (if you haven't already seen 'em). And also check out Perfume of the Lady in Black, not really a giallo but an awesome movie anyway. :)
Holy hell man, I envy your collection so far. I got out of giallo and horror when I started getting older, but now I'm back and realize I have missed out on a lot of good films.
Hmmm, that's a hard question because the giallo genre is so diverse. It looks like you enjoy Dario Argento film. If I were you I'd try out next: Tenebre, Bird With the Crystal Plumage & Opera. All very well done examples of gialli ;)
Not sure if you've checked these out, but should: Nuda Per Un Delitto, Eyes behind the Wall, Pensione Paura, Cross Current, El Asesino Esta Entre Los Trece, The House of the Yellow Carpet are all great Gialli.
Wow, thank you so much for these suggestion! Sorry I did not get back to you sooner - I did not get an update for the comments on this video. I suppose most of those I'd have to order from Italy?
You got the Shameless release of Watch Me When I Kill. You're lucky! I bought the VCI version, which is the ugliest transfer I have ever seen. Does the Shameless dvd look good? I've heard it's a lot better.
Hey mate - to be honest, the print isn't the best. It's still quite grainy, but seems to be the premium PQ out of all the releases. It's in anamorphic widescreen though which is great.
Great collection there- I would recommend a few Sergio Martino - Strange Vice Of Mrs Wardh and Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key. Both excellent and oozing style.
Hey there. Thank you. I would love to own those two, and very aware they are considered top class examples of the giallo genre, but why god why do they have to be so expensive! lol, I so wish they weren't OOP and No Shame were still around.
Hey DOug! Yeah, Torso is a great film. It feels like a really scuzzy slasher. The killer looks pretty menacing too in his get-up. Thank you man for commenting :D
those sergio martino flicks look really good! those editions look awesome the cover art looks incredible, im adding all of these on my netflix queue, thanks buddy! i'll check out solange first must be really good! i thought lizard in a womans skin was alright, kinda slow and dull but great psychadelic cinematography. 7 bloodstained orchids cover art looks so cool! have u seen dont torture a duckling? im sure u have but its on of my favorite gialli. this vid is great, favoriting!
I could get more Martino but they are very expensive. Yeah, I agree about that aspect of Lizard in a Woman Skin. Yes, I've got Don't Torture a Duckling. Great rural giallo film. Thanks so much mate :D
Cool update, James. I am looking most of these up on eBay and con only get a hold of Torso and Night Train Murders. I might buy them or I might not. I just bought a 40 dollar edition of Iron Maiden: Flight 666 that's just come out. It was expensive, but was certainly worth it because it's an edition that only has a certain amount of copies in each country. So it's my first limited edition. I think my Nightmare on Elm Street boxset is limited edition too. You know, the square one?
Hey Mitch. Are those two the only available in Australia? Cool, Iron Maiden DVD. Haven't heard of that particular DVD. As for the Nightmare set - I'm not sure if it's LE. Does it have a number on it?
Nope, so it musn't be LE. The Maiden on does have an number. I think it's about 20000. And in my JB store, there were only 5 copies. I don't think so. I think their international sellers.
Thanks for the comment mate. My Dear Killer I'm getting, Black Belly of the Tarantula Is on order and A Blade in the Dark I already own. Those Martino films are No Shame DVDs, and OOP, so I'd love to get them but they cost a small fortune. Thank you for the recommendations ;)
No man don't apologise lol. I actually really liked the Shameless DVDs and the style they went for. The majority of the releases have been giallos too so the yellow case is quite fitting. :D
Nice collection, you packed a good amount of movies into this update for 11 min. Some of these I've never herd of and some I almost got and now wish I did. So I gotta check zem all out. Thanks for the update I was looking forward to it and thanks again for the list of directors.
lol, I was very aware that they had reversible covers. Got Torso, and found out it wasn't. Kind of disappointed, because I always liked the cover of the killer wearing the mask. Oh well, glad I could help at any rate. :D Thanks for the comments by the way.
You have to see Torso man - it's a demonstration is violence and nudity. Greatly entertaining film, and the killer in the film was a very striking image. Cool film. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Great video, you've gave me a few titles to find, I'm really interested in checking out The Night Train Murders. Have you seen Strip Nude For Your Killer?
Cheers. No, haven't seen that one. I saw the trailer for the film on one of my DVDS - looks like the nude part of the title was very true! It's directed by Bianchi, and I loved his Burial Ground film. Quite hilarious. Thank you for the suggestion.
Torso would probably be my fav Sergio film too. So trashy and entertaining. Night Train Murders I really liked, and yeah, the dogs head scene *gulp*. Thank you very much for the positive comments man, really appreciate it.
Hey Lori. Yeah, Shameless are doing some great DVDs. Cool company, can't wait to see their future catalogue. LMAO, I know what you mean about Lizard - didn't seem as though Fulci wanted it to end. Yay, I member dvdmoviebuffer mentioning how you cottoned him on to Seven Blood Stained Orchids. Thanks very much :D
Some excellent titles in there! For suggestions I can't really help because I'd say see them all! Every single one you can see! :) I will add one because you mentioned how much you enjoy when they step outside the genre conventions. Blazing Magnum. It's from Alberto De Martino and it's interesting because it mixes Italian police action with very distinctive gialli style. I love it. In some prints the action was cut out and the title was changed to Strange Shadows in an Empty Room.
Hey man, thanks very much. Blazing Magnum, that's one I haven't really heard too much about. Thanks for the suggestion man :D. I'll be looking that one up shortly on the net.
You have already a quite collection of giallo films but there´s lot you might wanna see like The Strange Wice of Mrs. Wardh (probably the best gialli I´ve ever seen!) :)
Great update most of them are awesome giallos. Have you seen Perversion story? Seven blood stained orchids is one of his best but it's not as good as Puzzle of the silver half moons. Torso is kick ass. Martion is the greatest of all giallos directors. And not all giallos are Italian. I've seen spanish, turkish, british, french and german. House with the laughing windows I thought was a cool different take on the genre. La Polizia Chiede Ajuto means The Police asks for help :)
I didnt know what puzzle of the silver half moons was so I looked it up and it says it's an alternate title for Seven Blood Stained Orchids? Lenzi's other giallos that I know are Eyeball, knife of ice, and Spasmo and they're decent.
I said the wrong title sorry got caught up in everything...I ment Knife of Ice I got confused and it's not decent it's great in my opinion. Eyeball and spasmo are sleazy fun. He has also done So sweet so perverse, paranoia and orgasmo and there very cool early giallos. But you don't seem to like Lenzi so you might not think so!
I think the classics are Martino's and Argento's stuff, Lenzi is kind of second tier to me. I don't remember outright saying I didn't like his stuff? haha Decent is kind of like I'll watch it once and maybe in a few years watch it again. I'm much more of a fan of the black gloved killer giallo, I've strayed away from a number of them that don't feature that because they can be boring at times.
Hey there Izzie. No, haven't seen Perversity Story, but I've read about it. Have you heard of a book called Blood & Black Lace? Excellent giallo reference. I mean't gialli are Italian in a historical sense. I know what you mean though - Alice Sweet Alice is one of my favourite international giallos :). Thanks for the translation too - I thought it meant something to do with the police.
Hey there James. You should see it Fulcis first giallo. Yeah I have vol 1 and 2 I love them agree great giallo references. I love Alice Sweet Alice but I like Bloody Terror much better as a title. The best giallos are usually from Italy but Trukish are pretty cool as well. Your welcome!! The Police asks for help is a very boring title. For once I actually like the english one better :-)
That's cool you own both the volumes, not just a good read - the artwork is beautiful! I just looked up Perversity Story - would you believe it - it actually own it :D. I have it under Conspiracy of Torture/Beatrice Cenci. I actually showed the DVD about a month back. Excellent film, and the DVD is quite nice. Came with Bavas Whip & the Body. Isn't it known as Holy Terror too? I personally liked that the best. Gah - must say I haven't watched man Turkish horrors - got any recommendations?
Yeah the art is amazing and you learn a lot about the genre. Need some of the Bizare Sinema books, they seem so cool. Oh cool I like that title much more then Perversion Story. Whip and the body is good too. That's what I ment Holy Terror wrote to fast agian :-) Shame about it though is that that VHS is the cut one. Sure there not all giallos though: Last house in Istanbul, the horrible murders, Spasms, The savage beasts, Lanetli Kadinlar and Thirsty for love sex and murder there are more...
Wow, thank you so much for those recommendations Izzie. I'm a bit of a nerd, and I've also got a lot of horror movie books. There's a great book out there called Mondo Macabro, Cinema from Around the World, and they have a segment on Turkish films. Very, very interesting. Again, I thank you for imparting your knowledge on me ;). Man, I've checked out Bizarre Cinemas books took - me wants. Thank you for all the great comments. Your amazing :D
Your welcome I'll try to think of some more I've seen more so shouldn't be to hard! Oh those are great books and you can't be a bigger nerd then me ;-) I also want Psychopathica sexuals in Italian sinema seems very interesting. I can find vol 4 for a decent price but the other ones are pretty expensive. No thank you for all the great replys and your more amazing. I mean your so great at this ;D Thirst for love sex and murder is like a remake turkish version of Strange vice of mrs Wardh.
a few I enjoyed off the top of my head- Blade in the Dark, Midnight Ripper, So Sweet so Dead, Footprints, Fifth Cord, Black Belly of the Tarantula, Blue Eyes of a Broken Doll, Eyeball, Night Evelyn Came From the Grave, Red Queen Kills Seven Times, Dragonfly for Each Corpse, Sergio Martino's other 70's giallos, Eyes of Crystal. When I mentioned sleazy giallos I mixed up killer must kill again with killer is still among us (meant that one) oops.
Do you buy from Trash-online? I didn't like Blade in the dark but then agian I don't like Lamberto that much so that might explain it. The other ones you mentioned I did enjoy and some are even good/great. Curse of ursula is so much fun I think. It's easy to mess up titles and giallos titles are even easier to mess up. Eyes of crystal was very good but I wouldn't go that far. Have you seen tropic of cancer? I thought that one was cool :) You know a lot about giallos cool!!!
I've got A Blade in The Dark, Night Evelyn Came out of the Grave, and Fifth Cord & Black Belly of the Tarantula are on order. Blue Eyes of a Broken Doll was one I'd wanted to buy though. Thanks for all those other titles. Most of the names are familiar to me. Want to check out Eyeball for more Lenzi. Have you heard of a giallo called Death Laid an Egg? I've read it's great.
Death Laid an Egg is definitely one of the best giallos I've seen. Eyeball is on DVD as The Secret Killer or you could buy the VHS titled Eyaball it looks cooler :) Eyeball is sleazy and not a good giallo but it's got enough gore and lesbian sex scenes. Unlike Reflections in Black that has to many lesbian sex scenes so much it becomes boring(never thought I'd say that). Now a days I'm trying to find a giallo that I haven't seen. It's getting harder and harder :)
Thank you for the info on Eyeball - I would have been searching for it under that title if not ;). Do you know if Death Laid an Egg has a DVD release too? Must say, I had never heard of Reflections in Black. Too much lesbian sex - I never knew there was such a thing :). Thanks for the comment ;)
Death laid and egg is on DVD but not a great print and it's burned(dvdr). But it's cheap so if you wanna see the film it's worth it. Your welcome on the Eyeball info. Haha neither did I but when it takes away to much of the plot(whatever that was) then it's to much. Thanks for the reply ;)
Hey James, nice video. I've seen Seven Blood Stained Orchids and it's not so bad but not entirely memorable either, give it a shot. I own all of the movies you mentioned except Night Train Murders because if I remember it didn't fit my taste so well just reading a review once. There's lots of other decent giallos but they don't have legit releases. The sleaziest may be Gore in Venice and The Killer Must Kill Again. I'm not really recommending those completely but they win the awards for nasty.
Your right about giallo a venezia but The killer must kill agian I don't agree. Sure you didn't mean the killer is still among us? Because that one is sleazy as hell. And the vag cutting scene ouch. And of course lo squartatore one of the most well known once but it's very sleazy. Black Angel might be the sleaziest of the sleazy. The monster of florence same guys who did Killer is still among us. The red light girls, reflections in black and of course so sweet so dead :)
yep mixed up titles, there's also the killer reserved 9 seats so it's easy to see how you could mess these up as you're typing them fast. How about the Curse of Ursula, another pretty worthless sleazy giallo that sounded hysterical but it's probably not. Did you see Eyes of Crystal? Best giallo IMO of the last 20 years easily.
Thanks for the comment man, great hearing your thoughts. I was actually surprised with how well regarded Seven Blood Stained Orchids is. Not that I think Lenzi is untalented, but he does have a reputation for cheesiness. Thanks for the tip on that one. Also, cheers for the info on those sleazy giallos. :D
I think his spiral to cheesiness started in the 80s mostly. A few of his 70s giallos are sleazy for sure though. Not all of the ones I listed are sleaze just Killer is Still Among and Gore In Venice, the rest are pretty much straightforward thriller type ones.
Cheers buddy. Gates of Hell is a great film I agree. Goes by City of the Living Dead here. How was that head drilling scene? :D Fulci sure knew his stuff!
Hey man :D. Thank you very much. House With the Laughing Windows sounds very interesting from the synopsis, and the location change from inner city to country sounds like a great choice. Do you have any Lado movies I didn't mention? I like his style. Cheers for the suggestion man, but luckily I already have Don't Torture a Duckling. Great film. Thank you again for watching ;)
amazing list i only need house with laughing windows. i haven't watched all them thou :) . i want to go watch my AB of Torso now. i couldn't get into all the colors of the dark. i've never released i had so many of aldo's movies lol. i adore what have you done to solange? fucking great update.
I just preordered the rerelease of Torso a few days ago!!! Can't wait until it get released!
Giallos always have the most interesting names. I am glad you made this video James, I have been really trying to get some giallos, and you gave some amazing reviews on them. I'll definitely have to get What Have You Done to Solange? You made it sound very interesting :)
Excellent choice man! Torso is a very brutal movie. The killer is very intimidating looking in his get-up, stocky and intense looking. Great film. I totally agree about gialli titles - so wonderfully eccentric! What Have you Done to Solange is one you can't go wrong with, in my opinion :D
Favourited! I'm trying to pick-up some more Giallo films, and you just increased my wishlist by about 3x. One of my favourites so far is A Blade in the Dark. Do you usually watch them in Italian or with the English dub? I prefer the dub, for these types of films, as it just adds a certain charm to it.
Hey Josh :D. Thank you very much for the positive words :D. A Blade in the Dark I have - to be honest, I thought it was only okay. The plot developments were to obvious, and a bit silly at times. Was great seeing Soavi playing a big role though. I usually watch with whatever the DVD defaults with, but yeah, the charm of dubbing can add something to an Italian movie :D. Thanks for the comment
Have u seen seven deaths in the cats eye? Great movie

Dallamano is a 'sporadic' director? Given he died in 1976, one could guess why... ; )
Sorry, just being a smart ass.
How about a review of '(Red) Rings of Fear' - the third in the 'schoolgirl trilogy' (which Dallamano wrote, but did not direct)?
Johnny6666 1 year ago
I also have to suggest Mario Bava's Blood and Black Lace.

I love giallo titles - they are so brazenly weird and unconventional.

Thank you man. Giallo films have some really spectacular names, and the films are often just as strange and interesting to match.

Great video, you've gave me a few titles to find, I'm really interested in checking out The Night Train Murders. Have you seen Strip Nude For Your Killer?
hellachrisok 2 years ago
Cheers. No, haven't seen that one. I saw the trailer for the film on one of my DVDS - looks like the nude part of the title was very true! It's directed by Bianchi, and I loved his Burial Ground film. Quite hilarious. Thank you for the suggestion.
Jarashut 2 years ago
Torso was an awesome film some of Sergio's best work IMO!
Night Train Murders was great as well & in A Lizard in a womans skin the scene with the dead dogs ruled!!
All favorite fav films of mine!!
Truly amazing update
5*'s
quis666 2 years ago
Torso would probably be my fav Sergio film too. So trashy and entertaining. Night Train Murders I really liked, and yeah, the dogs head scene *gulp*. Thank you very much for the positive comments man, really appreciate it.
Jarashut 2 years ago
Wow, I've actually seen 5 of the movies you showed and own a few of them!! lol!
LOVE those shameless releases, hope to get more of those!
Lizard in Womans Skin is awesome but holy crap all those 'red herring' type endings! I was like JUST END IT ALREADY! lol.
7 Blood Stained Orchids is one of my favs! Excellent film!!
Another great video, James!
MADPUPPETDEATH 2 years ago 3
Jarashut 2 years ago
Some excellent titles in there! For suggestions I can't really help because I'd say see them all! Every single one you can see! :) I will add one because you mentioned how much you enjoy when they step outside the genre conventions. Blazing Magnum. It's from Alberto De Martino and it's interesting because it mixes Italian police action with very distinctive gialli style. I love it. In some prints the action was cut out and the title was changed to Strange Shadows in an Empty Room.
XtroTheMutilator 2 years ago 2
Hey man, thanks very much. Blazing Magnum, that's one I haven't really heard too much about. Thanks for the suggestion man :D. I'll be looking that one up shortly on the net.
Jarashut 2 years ago
You have already a quite collection of giallo films but there´s lot you might wanna see like The Strange Wice of Mrs. Wardh (probably the best gialli I´ve ever seen!) :)
ArthurSalvation 2 years ago
If I could get a hold of that one I would :). All those No Shame DVDs are OOP now though and go for a small fortune.
Jarashut 2 years ago
Nice collection. I would suggest you see 'The Killer Must Kill Again' directed by Luigi Cozzi.
dangercinema 2 years ago
Thanks for the suggestion man. I saw Contamination by him, pretty fun film.
Jarashut 2 years ago
Great update most of them are awesome giallos. Have you seen Perversion story? Seven blood stained orchids is one of his best but it's not as good as Puzzle of the silver half moons. Torso is kick ass. Martion is the greatest of all giallos directors. And not all giallos are Italian. I've seen spanish, turkish, british, french and german. House with the laughing windows I thought was a cool different take on the genre. La Polizia Chiede Ajuto means The Police asks for help :)
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
I didnt know what puzzle of the silver half moons was so I looked it up and it says it's an alternate title for Seven Blood Stained Orchids? Lenzi's other giallos that I know are Eyeball, knife of ice, and Spasmo and they're decent.
fiendwithoutaface66 2 years ago
I said the wrong title sorry got caught up in everything...I ment Knife of Ice I got confused and it's not decent it's great in my opinion. Eyeball and spasmo are sleazy fun. He has also done So sweet so perverse, paranoia and orgasmo and there very cool early giallos. But you don't seem to like Lenzi so you might not think so!
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
I think the classics are Martino's and Argento's stuff, Lenzi is kind of second tier to me. I don't remember outright saying I didn't like his stuff? haha Decent is kind of like I'll watch it once and maybe in a few years watch it again. I'm much more of a fan of the black gloved killer giallo, I've strayed away from a number of them that don't feature that because they can be boring at times.
fiendwithoutaface66 2 years ago
I mean not as good as knife of Ice :-D
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
Hey there Izzie. No, haven't seen Perversity Story, but I've read about it. Have you heard of a book called Blood & Black Lace? Excellent giallo reference. I mean't gialli are Italian in a historical sense. I know what you mean though - Alice Sweet Alice is one of my favourite international giallos :). Thanks for the translation too - I thought it meant something to do with the police.
Jarashut 2 years ago
Hey there James. You should see it Fulcis first giallo. Yeah I have vol 1 and 2 I love them agree great giallo references. I love Alice Sweet Alice but I like Bloody Terror much better as a title. The best giallos are usually from Italy but Trukish are pretty cool as well. Your welcome!! The Police asks for help is a very boring title. For once I actually like the english one better :-)
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
That's cool you own both the volumes, not just a good read - the artwork is beautiful! I just looked up Perversity Story - would you believe it - it actually own it :D. I have it under Conspiracy of Torture/Beatrice Cenci. I actually showed the DVD about a month back. Excellent film, and the DVD is quite nice. Came with Bavas Whip & the Body. Isn't it known as Holy Terror too? I personally liked that the best. Gah - must say I haven't watched man Turkish horrors - got any recommendations?
Jarashut 2 years ago
Yeah the art is amazing and you learn a lot about the genre. Need some of the Bizare Sinema books, they seem so cool. Oh cool I like that title much more then Perversion Story. Whip and the body is good too. That's what I ment Holy Terror wrote to fast agian :-) Shame about it though is that that VHS is the cut one. Sure there not all giallos though: Last house in Istanbul, the horrible murders, Spasms, The savage beasts, Lanetli Kadinlar and Thirsty for love sex and murder there are more...
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
Wow, thank you so much for those recommendations Izzie. I'm a bit of a nerd, and I've also got a lot of horror movie books. There's a great book out there called Mondo Macabro, Cinema from Around the World, and they have a segment on Turkish films. Very, very interesting. Again, I thank you for imparting your knowledge on me ;). Man, I've checked out Bizarre Cinemas books took - me wants. Thank you for all the great comments. Your amazing :D
Jarashut 2 years ago
Your welcome I'll try to think of some more I've seen more so shouldn't be to hard! Oh those are great books and you can't be a bigger nerd then me ;-) I also want Psychopathica sexuals in Italian sinema seems very interesting. I can find vol 4 for a decent price but the other ones are pretty expensive. No thank you for all the great replys and your more amazing. I mean your so great at this ;D Thirst for love sex and murder is like a remake turkish version of Strange vice of mrs Wardh.
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
a few I enjoyed off the top of my head- Blade in the Dark, Midnight Ripper, So Sweet so Dead, Footprints, Fifth Cord, Black Belly of the Tarantula, Blue Eyes of a Broken Doll, Eyeball, Night Evelyn Came From the Grave, Red Queen Kills Seven Times, Dragonfly for Each Corpse, Sergio Martino's other 70's giallos, Eyes of Crystal. When I mentioned sleazy giallos I mixed up killer must kill again with killer is still among us (meant that one) oops.
fiendwithoutaface66 2 years ago
Do you buy from Trash-online? I didn't like Blade in the dark but then agian I don't like Lamberto that much so that might explain it. The other ones you mentioned I did enjoy and some are even good/great. Curse of ursula is so much fun I think. It's easy to mess up titles and giallos titles are even easier to mess up. Eyes of crystal was very good but I wouldn't go that far. Have you seen tropic of cancer? I thought that one was cool :) You know a lot about giallos cool!!!
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
I've got A Blade in The Dark, Night Evelyn Came out of the Grave, and Fifth Cord & Black Belly of the Tarantula are on order. Blue Eyes of a Broken Doll was one I'd wanted to buy though. Thanks for all those other titles. Most of the names are familiar to me. Want to check out Eyeball for more Lenzi. Have you heard of a giallo called Death Laid an Egg? I've read it's great.
Jarashut 2 years ago
Death Laid an Egg is definitely one of the best giallos I've seen. Eyeball is on DVD as The Secret Killer or you could buy the VHS titled Eyaball it looks cooler :) Eyeball is sleazy and not a good giallo but it's got enough gore and lesbian sex scenes. Unlike Reflections in Black that has to many lesbian sex scenes so much it becomes boring(never thought I'd say that). Now a days I'm trying to find a giallo that I haven't seen. It's getting harder and harder :)
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
Thank you for the info on Eyeball - I would have been searching for it under that title if not ;). Do you know if Death Laid an Egg has a DVD release too? Must say, I had never heard of Reflections in Black. Too much lesbian sex - I never knew there was such a thing :). Thanks for the comment ;)
Jarashut 2 years ago
Death laid and egg is on DVD but not a great print and it's burned(dvdr). But it's cheap so if you wanna see the film it's worth it. Your welcome on the Eyeball info. Haha neither did I but when it takes away to much of the plot(whatever that was) then it's to much. Thanks for the reply ;)
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
There's a film called 'Death Laid an Egg'!!!

You should look it up man, I was sold on the poster art alone :)

XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
Hey James, nice video. I've seen Seven Blood Stained Orchids and it's not so bad but not entirely memorable either, give it a shot. I own all of the movies you mentioned except Night Train Murders because if I remember it didn't fit my taste so well just reading a review once. There's lots of other decent giallos but they don't have legit releases. The sleaziest may be Gore in Venice and The Killer Must Kill Again. I'm not really recommending those completely but they win the awards for nasty.
fiendwithoutaface66 2 years ago
Your right about giallo a venezia but The killer must kill agian I don't agree. Sure you didn't mean the killer is still among us? Because that one is sleazy as hell. And the vag cutting scene ouch. And of course lo squartatore one of the most well known once but it's very sleazy. Black Angel might be the sleaziest of the sleazy. The monster of florence same guys who did Killer is still among us. The red light girls, reflections in black and of course so sweet so dead :)
XRatedLiquid 2 years ago
yep mixed up titles, there's also the killer reserved 9 seats so it's easy to see how you could mess these up as you're typing them fast. How about the Curse of Ursula, another pretty worthless sleazy giallo that sounded hysterical but it's probably not. Did you see Eyes of Crystal? Best giallo IMO of the last 20 years easily.
fiendwithoutaface66 2 years ago
Thanks for the comment man, great hearing your thoughts. I was actually surprised with how well regarded Seven Blood Stained Orchids is. Not that I think Lenzi is untalented, but he does have a reputation for cheesiness. Thanks for the tip on that one. Also, cheers for the info on those sleazy giallos. :D
Jarashut 2 years ago
I think his spiral to cheesiness started in the 80s mostly. A few of his 70s giallos are sleazy for sure though. Not all of the ones I listed are sleaze just Killer is Still Among and Gore In Venice, the rest are pretty much straightforward thriller type ones.
fiendwithoutaface66 2 years ago
Yeah, I can see where you're coming from there. I still love his cheesy work to bits though. Cheers buddy ;)

Awesome update!
BloodWind 2 years ago
Excellent choice man! Torso is a very brutal movie. The killer is very intimidating looking in his get-up, stocky and intense looking. Great film. I totally agree about gialli titles - so wonderfully eccentric! What Have you Done to Solange is one you can't go wrong with, in my opinion :D

HorrorReviews123 2 years ago
Hey man. Yeah, that's one of my wants. Gawd, is it ever expensive though :( . What did you think of it?
Jarashut 2 years ago
About like Lizard in A women's skin, very different, but very good.
HorrorReviews123 2 years ago
Favourited! I'm trying to pick-up some more Giallo films, and you just increased my wishlist by about 3x. One of my favourites so far is A Blade in the Dark. Do you usually watch them in Italian or with the English dub? I prefer the dub, for these types of films, as it just adds a certain charm to it.
boomstickplease 2 years ago
Hey Josh :D. Thank you very much for the positive words :D. A Blade in the Dark I have - to be honest, I thought it was only okay. The plot developments were to obvious, and a bit silly at times. Was great seeing Soavi playing a big role though. I usually watch with whatever the DVD defaults with, but yeah, the charm of dubbing can add something to an Italian movie :D. Thanks for the comment
