It's saturday night in Va Beach Va. and I will be seeing the English Beat WITHOUT RANKING ROGER!!!! His band "THE BEAT" has been around before Dave Wakeling put his new English Beat together, minus Ranking, the saxophonist, and the drummer. Not to mention the two guitarists whose name slips my mind. They left for Fine young canibals and don't seem to want anything to do with the band Dave has formed. It won't be the same without the full line up.
well, how was it? I'm sure you were hoping Roger would show up as I would be. I don't know what happened between them but they had some magic together.
It was good. Not freat but that was to be expected. They had the crowd jumping and finished with Mirror in the bathroom, which of course is preceded by Ranking Full Stop. That was odd because that is Rankings song. Dave was happy and joking with the crowd. He had a much younger replacement for Ranking and he did a good job keeping the crowd going while dave caught his breath.
