Short Film : The Invigilator

I am a teacher and admittedly sometimes I'm too idealistic like the trainee but at other times I'm like the older teacher. All I can say is that I do hope that my own students did learn from me and that I did some good in their lives during the short period of time I was their teacher. This was a great short film and I WISH that more teachers were as dedicated as the older teacher in this film! I WISH there were more teachers who CARED enough to do their BEST!

Everytime I switch in TV2, Im entertained. Not because the shows are at all amusing, their not. What with the story progression redundantly along the lines of orang kampung - masuk bandar - lupa agama - anak derhaka - lupa jasa mak bapak - cheating... And with crappy screenplay and an inch thick of make up on the actresses to boot.

The few minutes i spent watching this short: Wow.

They teach us how to teach new teachers to be creative. Students nowadays are much differ from the past. That was the point I got.

teringat masa praktikum, saya dan bebudak kelas hujung sama2 berkomplot jadi kelas baik masa lecturer datang observe. masa kelas biasa pun diaorang bising & buat kecoh, tapi time lecturer observe, diaorang bising gak tapi bising ada makna. lecturer pun suka sbb interaksi guru-murid baik.

tu sbbnya saya suka kelas jahat. diaorang bole bawa bincang. "u tolong i, i tolong u"

@hikari2905 ...i agree with u..the same thing happened to me...SMK Dato' Hamzah Pandamaran Klang..always in my mind...jarang students nak duduk dlm kelas...ada 2 , 3 , 4 org jer..tapi time lecturer dtg observed...they help me alot..the best part...my lecturer omputih...cakap melayu dgn diaorg...diaorg terkejut...then they started talking dgn my lecturer pulak....

this has a high potential in making a regular series or even a movie. it doesnt rely on a typical malay drama story but maintaining the malaysian culture of high school. good job! i hope to see more of these in the future. really impressed with the cinematography and the visual especially at the construction site

@b74 seems a little bit short from my point of view.what was on point was the message and that Malay guy acting. Cheryl have problem with delivery and Tony is as stiff as usual. Its like im seeing GHOST once again...

@Linkcrc i can see ur point there. i also did watch ghost which was just 'ok'.put aside the acting, im more impressed on how they tell the story of the school and the environment coz thats what we all most malaysian has gone through. i find that malaysian film has a lack of portraying our culture in a creative way. its always 'cinta sampai mati' or some lame jokes. the country has tons of culture and story and we're always stuck with the 2 genre. just saying this is different than typical

@b74 you got a point; but this is a short film; rather than producer and sponsor breathing down the director neck; by going independent, he only have to answer to himself. this is a good effort in Malaysian cinema by the least.
