  • Icelandic horses are the best horses in the world. To tell all the great things about there here, is to long. Here in germany they have many fans and it gives lots of shows and riding schools for people with all levels. When I go to Canada next year i hope that i can riding this fine horses too, while i can´t have my own horse in canada for this year. i don´t like it she to leave but to go to school at canada for a year is a great chance

  • Yes, he is great! I live in austria, 2o minutes away from his stable with the car. On of my mares is getting a foal from his stalion Godur-Greifi frá Stora-Hofi in march. He also was my judge several times at cometitions and he everytime told me what i have been doing rong...he is great! And i like the way, he is giving you your feedback!

  • the guy at 0:22, it is Johannes Hoyos?

  • @JHLaura Yep -- that is Johannes. He has been the judge at several of our California shows over the last few years. Besides judging our classes, he does tend to make it a more entertaining show for both participants and spectators... and educational as well. I always learn a lot more when Johannes is judging, because he announces what he is thinking to all! Not everyone appreciates the open feedback, but I wish all shows were like this.

  • i love theses horses because there hair

  • I love these horses. I had one as a child (never had heard of an Icelandic) that was given to my dad along with a quarter horse. The two were great together and I had the most rewarding experience at my young age with horses. Purla was her name, she was white and super gentle and I don't recall her ever "spooking". Now I know someone who has three of these magnificent animals so I can get my "Icelandic" fix anytime. Great video, BTW.

  • I live around here :D where do they have shows? I've been looking for some to take my icelandics to!

  • @luvrachelng thanks, yes, the Hansen Dam center is where this video was shot -- at the home of Valhalla Icelandics (they offer training, lessons for all levels, and sales horses with some of the top Icelandic horses in the world). In Santa Ynez, there is Flying C ranch hosts shows and offers competition horse training and sales. The couple who owns it--Will and Asta Covert-- have both won medals in the Icelandic Horse World Championship competition. (Asta's the one in flying pace in the video)
