  • i still can'y get it!!!!1 HUWAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you're a dancer.. exactly what i looked this tutorial up for.. a dance! ha :)

  • @indepdanc Well it is perfect for dance :)

  • How do I join the "French Twist Club"? The members, who claim to be in no club, seem to have some obscure secret to making French Twists work they refuse to tell outsiders. I have tried countless different methods, and none of them work. What's the secret?

  • @nasaroveronmars Haha well that's what this video is for!

  • i got it all nice and tight..but i dont have that much bobby pins :(

  • @MsLiveDance10 If your hair is not as fine as mine you shouldn't need so many pins, also if you don't plan on dancing with this style in! Then it doesn't need to be quite so secure.

  • Thank you times a zillion! My sister's wedding is tomorrow and you have saved my life on how to do a french twist! I totally love you! <3

  • @kalestialicious I'm so glad I could help, and I hope the wedding was beautiful :)

  • no way, you made it looks sooo easy. thanks for the tutorial, you look amazing and you look like a ballerina :)

  • @couture0890 Thank you so much! :)

  • THIS IS CRAZY. YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY!!!!!

  • @amsaric haha thank you!

  • Her hair is abundant it has one length that is way looks very easy to do it .

  • was looking for a simple but elegant updo for an upcoming Christmas Party and think this will fit the bill exactly. Thank you :)

  • @hummingbirdlover No problem, I bet you'll look beautiful :)

  • Thank you times infinity! I looked for hours for an easy and classic french twist. Thanks again! (:

  • @danseur2 I'm so glad I helped you!

  • My hair is so very thick that i have to put billions of bobby pins in the twist. It won't hold up through ballet classes. Its tough enough to just get it into a twist.

  • @blu2themax Hmm I'm not sure what would help you unfortunately since my hair is so thin. All I can think of is using more heavy duty bobby pins to anchor the twist.

  • @blu2themax Try using the pins they use for curlers..they look like giant bobby pins, you can get them at sallys, they looks exactly like bobby pins only way bigger and stronger I have hair to my butt and its thick and they work perfect:)

  • Which is the brand of your hairpins???

I think my hair is pretty similiar in lenght and texture to yours but french twists always fall no matter how much I put or else I end up with a headache or I put comb or a regular bun....my hair is already super slipery but I suspect that my hair pins are the one to blame... so pliz :)

  • @yahirwao I'm not sure exactly, I believe Goody? Mine is too, that's one of the reasons I have to use so many pins!

  • thank you so much!! I'm in a dance production that's based off of the radio city christmas spectacular, and i'm being a rockette, which means we need french twists . i've never seen it done like this before! looks easier than most other tutorials i have seen (:

  • @NickJsGurl108 That sounds like an awesome show! I hope this works for you :)

  • HUNNY!!! I work in the airlines.. and that is one freaking neat and quick FT's!!!.. I have some of my crew.. who get soo annoyed that they can't get it neat!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE DONE DOWNWARDS~!! .. THAT IS REALLY GOOD!!! thanks a billion!

  • @rohannahor1987 Thank you so much, what an awesome comment :)

  • @SweetestRose17 STILLLLLLLLLL THE BEST FROM ALL TUTORIALS ON HERE!

  • It must be tedious to take off that much bobby pins from your hair when you are ready to shower or etc.

  • @Stroberrry Nope, not really. It only takes a few seconds.

  • my mom is a rockete and and this is not how she dose it!

  • @kiki1818star Well everyone is different! The two rockettes I had teaching me at the summer intensive did it this way :)

  • i have very layered hair and its really hard for me to do a neat one. any recommendations? i get stuck right as i bring the first twist down.

  • @unoehuim If the layers are too short it may not be possible to do it this way unfortunately, although you could try using some mousse to hold your hair together as you do the twist!

  • Your technique is tidier than the other videos I've seen because you twist the hair at the TOP of the head and not the bottom - it makes that top area at the back look so much nicer and you don't get that weird hole in your hair at the top of the twist. Thanks for a great vid!

  • @PallasAthene12 Thank you for the great comment! :)

  • Anyway, this looks great! Do you have pictures? I'm collecting visual examples so my hairstylist knows what I want for my wedding.

  • @ctti Unfortunately I don't. Maybe take a screen shot?

  • Instead of using so many hairpins, can I just use hairspray (I know that at least some pins have to be used to secure it in the first place for hairspray, of course)?

  • @ctti yup!

  • I found this pretty unhelpful. It's not really a french roll either...

  • @padowan6 I'm sorry this didn't help you :( Do you have any suggestions for how it could have been more clear?

  • @SweetestRose17 Thanks for replying. I was watching a bunch of videos trying to do this and left that comment in a fit of frustration. When you say to 'tuck the excess under' - under what? It's just a tube of hair only gathered at the crown of the head, rather than a roll taken from the side, so when I try to do that the ends just poke out the other side and my tube/roll shifts around. Do you know what I mean? x

  • @padowan6 The reason you're having trouble is that when you bring the twist down to your head you have to pull the hair on the side you twisted away from over the "tube" of hair as you called it and tuck it under, all the way down the length of your head. That is what gives the look of the hair being rolled from the side.

  • @SweetestRose17 Right! Thank you for explaining. I'm really impressed with the help and information you offered when I left my (kindof rude!) comment, and will be subscribing, plus having another go at this style. :)

  • @padowan6 I'm so glad that you'll give it another try!

  • @padowan6 Watch 1:36-1:39 again, that's where I do that step!

  • First of all thank you for posting this video; Now, I'm having a problem with my hair, perhaps you're not an expert but I have really "loose" hair and while I'm doing this hairdo it's always getting out of my hands -literally- and I've seen that you have very "intact" hair, so my question is: do you have any products (hair cream, etc.) that could help me do the french twist properly?

    p.s. you are really lovely!

  • @photoneuron1 Thank you :) I would love to help but I'm not quite sure what you mean by "loose" hair.

  • @Voodooday2

    Thank you; that's very helpful.

  • try mousse

  • this is so good because i need to do this for a musical where there is a lot of dancing so its good to know that it will sty secure! thankyou! x

  • @crabbinsOhCrabbins I'm glad it helped you! What musical are you doing?

  • wow thankyou! this helped me out a lot-i was watching Breakfast at Tiffany's and Audrey has her hair like this for the majority of the movie and i really wanted it like that- i watched heaps of tutorials on youtube and none of them helped but yours did! Thankyou so much :)

  • @PrettyRecklessB I love Breakfast at Tiffany's :) I'm so happy this helped you!

  • Awesone, thank you!

  • So easy..esp. for hot days! Thanks so much:)

  • what title of the song in the background ?

  • @laicxii05 It doesn't have one, it's just me improvising haha

  • can you use this hairstyle for everyday or just special occasions?

  • @jas0123 I think you can use it anytime you want. It's definitely elegant, so I personally use it for work, dates, and semi-formal and formal events.

  • Nice job. It looks really nice on you but just one thing did you really need to put all those pins in your hair? It looked secure, pretty and neat without all the extra pins. Just saying . . .

  • @HiItsIrene The reason for the extra pins is for keeping it secure while dancing. Turns and jumps can dislodge even the most secure hairdo!

  • thank you so much! I've tried to figure this out so long, and i just didn't get how i can stuff the rest of the hair in :) Thank youuuu!!!!!! :)

  • off topic are you a dancer? your neck and shoulder area remind me of my dance school days and great posture :)

  • @tcaver yes I am :)

  • Oh my gosh thank you so much for this video! I just could not figure out how to do twists. I even went to my hair dresser to learn how to do a french twist. She had about 14 steps. This is so easy and so much sturdier than my hair dresser's. You're the BEST!!

  • Thank you SO much for posting this! I couldn't figure out how to do a French Twist, and have really wanting to wear my hair in that style for my prom this week, and this tutorial worked for me! Thanks again! :D

  • @Peronell I'm so glad this worked for you! I hope you have an amazing prom :)

  • are you american? :) X

  • @gummybear788 No, I'm Canadian :)

  • @SweetestRose17 oh good, its just that all these ppl are american, great vid btw!!

  • @SweetestRose17 tis verry pretty x

  • Wow! That's so cool that you learned it from one of the Rockettes!!

I've also never seen it done this way - I'll definitely have to try it!!

    Great video!!

  • @oceanprincess318 Yeah! Thank you :)

  • SweetestRose17, you saved my evening of elegance! My curling iron broke and I didn't have a lot of time before the party, so I came to youtube, and your video saved the day. Way to go!

  • @wijcik I'm so glad!!

  • Very nice!! I finally may be able to do a French twist on myself!! Thank you for this video!! :)

  • @melissad13 I hope you can! :)

  • you are very cute! do you dance???

  • @balletgirl212 thank you! Yes, I do :)

  • @SweetestRose17 awesome. what style? =)

  • @balletgirl212 Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, Flamenco, and Precision Jazz/Kicklines (like the Rockettes). What about you?

  • @SweetestRose17 well my main dance is ballet obviously. but I also do, modern, JAZZ, contemporary, tap, hiphop/street and show/musical dance. I am too tall to be a rockette otherwise i would totally be one =) are u gonna try to be one???

  • @balletgirl212 oh really? how tall are you? Yes, I'm auditioning when I graduate college :)

  • @SweetestRose17 i am six feet tall. haha that is a good two and a half inches over the max requirment. otherwise a rockette would have been my back up jobb. =) that is so cool how tall are you btw?

  • @balletgirl212 I'm 5'10"

  • @SweetestRose17 cool i hope you make it! =)

  • I have to tell you

    you are so cute

  • @moussy82 Aw thank you :)

  • This looks amazing on you!

You make it look so simple to do.

I will give this a try but my hair might be too short.

    Great tutorial :)

  • @JustEnufEyes Thank you! For shorter hair it may be easier to start the twist from the bottom, you'll just have to experiment and see what works for you :)

  • @JustEnufEyes My hair is a bit shorter too. what I do is spray an awful lot of hairspray before I start the tutorial. in that way my hair is less slippy so my short hair will stay in the twist.
