its true that the broodlord lacking fleet slows down the retinue it has, but thats what your other units are for, tie them up with hormagaunts or your other genestealer squads so that way the Broodlord and its genestealer get into combat where it is lethal - of cource take differant things against differant enemys and remember broodlords have their place next to Hive Tyrants and Warriors.

Broodlord doesn't slow down it's retinue anymore. Running has solved this problem. It's really good for distracting the enemy, dividing eemy fire, or used as forward synapse. It's retinue often die as it gets to close combat, but it's the best Marine killer Tyranids have when you consider points cost.
