  • This video rescued me! Thankyou!

  • Uhm.. this video is wrong~ It's 640x360, YouTube didn't change it ^^' & HQ is 1280x720, & finally HD is 1920x1080

  • how you compress it in widescreen?!??!

  • I currently use 720-30p 1280x720 29,970fps and it still shows black bars on the sides of the video, please help

  • @OSeuKumiama also i use progressive VBR

  • i use 16:9 then it says recommended 1280 * 720 i put it then youtube screen still has black lines

  • @k0raph Me too, even if small balck bars on the sides, they are still there.

  • no... i just want 480p or lower but widescreen

  • thats great. but where the hell is the tag! like =something something!

  • thumbs up for SHIT LOAD of crabs

  • This is a pain. I want to be able to upload multiple videos with the HD requirments but, it seems like whenever I want to "fill the screen" as it's called, it takes like 40 minutes to export as a new video. Is there any way to take footage and have it already saved as a video with 1280x 720 settings.

  • here my tut no software needed /watch?v=p6SZFrsDjSY

  • 1280p ???? thats not FULL HD 1080p

  • @dalbenton Export at 1920x1080 for 1080p. He doesn't say it in the video, maybe this was before 1080p was introduced.

  • thx for posting this

  • I just uploaded a 16:9 video I made on windows movie maker but in youtube it doesn't look like a wide screen video, the file is 720 by 480.

    what shoud I do?

shoud I save it as a AVI or as WMV??? please help thanks!! :)

  • @kortedfranela windows movie maker does not support wide screen

  • @humxa24 yes, it does, I got it working :D

  • @kortedfranela can you plz tell me how?i will be thankfull

  • @humxa24 go to Tools, then options and in video properties choose 16:9 aspectratio and when you publish the video make shure to select a format with 16:9 aspect ratio.

  • @kortedfranela

change the resolution when u producing, i prefere camstudio, easy and good

  • @kortedfranela i have the same problem, but i export to mpeg-4 it uploads waaaay faster.

  • @kortedfranela The vid need to be atleast 1280 by 720 to be HD on youtube.

  • @kortedfranela widescreen isn't 720 by 480 --___--

  • @kortedfranela wmv works better for youtube

  • Informative.. but what bitrate MP4 should one use if one still wants the vid to stream decently on lower speed broadband (384-512kbps)? And do you know why my MP4 looks "washed out" on the net and in Quicktime, but maintains full colour in Windows Media Player? Thanks for any help.. :)

  • ТЫ ДОЛБАЕБ УРОК ХУЙНЯ!

  • BEST DANCE!

  • Good to know

  • waht is he using to do widesettings

  • i did this and my video went for 2 seconds and took up 10 MB WTF!!!

  • he used some Adobe program.

  • @anciienter

This is Sony Vegas (8 or earlyer)

  • Programa ? que vc usa

  • what program is he using

  • Ummm The black lines are still are on the side

  • with youre camcorder make sure you change the setting to widescreen.

  • Export? U mean upload?

    Where should we see export?

  • @sngoku I guess he means exporting the video project in your video editing software. In other words, export means saving the video.

  • how do i make my youtube vids cover the whole screen using yt:stretch=16:9 i added into tags but it didnt work, i recorded the screen to make a video (does the screen resolution matter) then i edited it and made it into a video using camtasia using the settings 640x360 after i uploaded the video i added in the tag but it was still in the center of the screen with a black surrounding, how do i fix this?

  • Make the resolution 960x540. That'll do it.

  • CAN ANYONE HELP ME?? AFTER I RENDER VIDEOS I DONT HAVE SOUND!! PLS HELP ASAP!! WHEN I RENDER MUSIC THERES SOUND! PLSSS i will subsctibe to u

  • How do i get it to 640:480 then?

  • Get something like Sony Vegas or even windows movie maker and save the video at 640:360 for widescreen. And the ratio you said for normal.

  • well..

my videos are filmed in 16:9, but are read on WMP as 4:3 so they are always squished..

    can someone help me out?

  • ok i get HD but the black won't get off! please help me!

  • stretch your slip to fit the frame

  • Hi. I use Vegas movie Studio 9 and when I want to change my video rpopreties, I don't have the option for HDV. I only have NTSC Dv or PAL Dv or Internet. I don't have any HD options/. how do I get those?

  • In sony vegas you choose the video width and hight settings when you render your video (from what i can remember) that was soney vegas 8 pro though.

  • The best file type for videos is MP4... Extra quality in smaller file...

  • i use powerdirector from cyberlink it is so much easier to use and with hd widescreen videos

  • hes using iMovie HD =) not a big fan of imacs =)

  • No, he's using ScreenFlow...

  • nice info but WTF is with the dancing? :]

  • Thats Youtube legend 'mattharding2718'

Search for the Where the hell is matt' video.

  • Its The Man Who Goes Around The World

    Dancing :DD!

    Mazing Aint It. Lmfao!

    -x

  • if your using windows movie maker then you can just put the ratio to 16:9 easily under options

  • Awesome Dude! Thank you so much!

  • what if you make a cartoon on macromedia flash and want to edit it on Windows Movie Maker? it just says the file is not valid or corrupted no matter what i try

  • Use a program like CamStudio to 'film' the animation so that you get a video file then import it into Windows Movie Maker

  • thanks

    i already figured it out

  • where do i go in sony vegas pro 8 to set it at H.264?

  • i wanna know the same thing

  • If you want widescreen with Windows Movie maker, first of all, go up to the "Tool" and select "Options." A new Window will appear. Select the "Advanced" tab and look for the "Video Properties" row. For your "Video Format," select "PAL," and for the "Aspect Ratio," select "16:9." Click OK, and then do your thing. =D

I'm using Vista, hopefully it's not too different from the Windows XP Movie Maker.

  • dude,ur awesome :)

  • Question.

In WMM which display size do I have to choose to get my video's fullscreen just like yours?

  • do you have macromedia flash?

  • I tried doing that, well, it was the same.

  • wat about windows movie maker

    how????

  • is that program free

  • export in 480 * 720, thats how it shows on youtube. my screen res. is 720p, and i still see the rest of the crap as well as the vid at the same tie. Thus: its not 720 i/p.

  • Good job! Thanks

  • I use a normal Canon Powershot A630 Digital Camera to record my videos in, and when I add the video to Windows Movie Maker and make the screen to Widescreen the video doesn't follow and stays in the same format it was with making the black boxes on the edges. Any suggestions??? :D

  • You put it in Windows Movie Maker. Don't do that.

  • Thanks!

  • what program did he use

  • Quicktime 7 Pro

  • Thanks. This is really useful. Happy New Year!

  • WHATS BETTER PAL OR NTSC??

  • pal

  • explain why: i dont even know the difference between the two

  • PAl uses better sharper image, but if you're putting a movie on a DVD for an American DVD player use NTSC. USA uses NTSC and Europe Uses PAL. Google into it.

  • ohh ok thx

  • ntsc for Youtube and dvds.

    pal for europe.

  • PAL (and SECAM) is used in Europe and The UK and the images are at best in 25 im/s

NTSC is used in the US and in Japan, the images are at best 30 im/s (in reality 29.7 im/sec)

  • how hard is it to make a simple video like this i thank you so effin much

so many videos on youtube but none explain like you did thanks

  • Can you show us how to make so that when we import 16:10 videos into Premiere it doesn't clip the edges, and rather just puts a blank spot on the top/sides(idk which it would be).

I did try getting it to use 1680x1050 while exporting, but adobe video encoder said there was an error, and I had to go with 1280x720 with the edges of the video clipped off.

  • I have iMovie HD [Ver5] and I was wondering what the MP4(h.264) settings should be for that since the dialog box on exporting is different.

  • THANKS

  • 5*

very well put together and instructive

gives me the precise info i need to get this going for myself

    thanks

  • So if i have a ten minute clip then i can open with Photoshop CS4 and make/transform the quality of the video higher? if so how can i do that

  • im going to stick with using the old settings

  • the video goes so slow in HD

  • not for me it doesn't... you need a better connection.

  • I think its my computer because i have comcast high speed internet.

  • I have comcast high speed and all HD works great on mine...

  • this means, if i record a video in game with FRAPS, with the game settings 1280x720, and then upload the video without changing the resolution at all, the widescreen will be filled and i am able to take advantage of 720 HD?

  • It should. Give it a shot. =)

  • ok, thanks

i'll try when i get a better CPU for video recording

  • @IceflowStudios watched 400 vids on how to get widescreen and my vids are still not in widescreen pleasee help

  • it works for Sims 2, so why not?

  • youtube widescreen is not Loading Video`s as the Normal one , help plzz

  • its the same loading time to me

  • cant

  • can u recompress an old 4.3 video to widescreen? or the vids needs to be of 16.9 format in order to compress it to widescreen

  • OMG thank you so much! your a lifesaver

  • the black pillar lines on left and right side by 1 inch

  • How we can do this with Windows movie maker ?

  • lololololololololololololololol

    *facepalm*

  • Ok ppl I already know now

  • exactly! how can we do this with Windows Movie Maker, why not Youtube just get rid of it themselves, This is fuckin stupid

  • You don't. You are going to have to use some software like Sony Vegas, Quicktime, Divx, etc. that support the high res formats. The best moviemaker will do is 720x480.

  • aafarin Haward.

    dastet dard nakoneh.

    movafagh bashi

  • a mac. fun.

  • I am happy to be subscribed to your channel good work Haward...

  • Again, good work howard. your videos are always of the "top quality" ;)

  • Hey Iceflow. I've recently got a new Macbook and I used iMovie to test out the widescreen tips you gave up there ^ ^

I didn't have a wide choice of sizes, settings, etc like you have... So I'm guessing you had Final Cut Pro or something better?

If you could drop me a comment or reply... I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks.

  • utube is in HD WOOOOOOOOW

  • nice

  • what program u use`??

  • Hola al ver no soy el unico por aqui que habla Espanol!

  • oh that's awesome thanks for telling us about the correct format, Love the videos too!

  • thanks dude

  • Funnily enough my first tests ended up falling short, so I took it to an extreme (1920 x 1080) with 100 MB for a 2:30 video, and the quality (in &fmt=22) turned out amazing, but screen cropping, so I'd reccomend using howard's settings.

  • looks great

  • Is H.264 possible to export in Windows XP?

  • It should be available in most of the updated video editors.

  • The HD video (&fmt=22) looks absolutely amazing.

    Good job.

  • Yeah, it's crystal clear. I'm loving it! =D

  • Hey are you going to post a video in how to compress videos in 720p HD?

  • I thought I did in this video. H.264 is perfect for compressing 720p videos and keeping high quality.

  • but did you save as mp4?

  • H.264 is a version of mp4 by default.

  • ok I do not have that apple thing I use windoes movie maker so how do I do it with that?

  • yay, finnaly i learned how

  • Awesome tut

  • Nice tutorial. All your videos should include a dancing man.

    >:)

  • Helped! TNX!

  • what do i compress too in Sony!? meh!

  • I think in Sony Vegas there's a "MainConcept AVC/AAC" codec. It should be similar to H.264. I'm going to be looking into their compression methods and post another video shortly.

  • lmao this is funny

  • thanks

  • keep the ice flowing

    qualitys amazing

  • how can i make my videos HD? i added &fmt=22 and i got nothing .. but i added &fmt=18 in turned into high quality..so my question is when can i add &fmt=22 ???? plz answer

  • only videos uploaded about a week ago cause thats when they added this function, i hope i helped you

  • export your videos 1280 x 720

  • that can just be done on videos already in hd when they were uploaded. even tho the videos are uploaded in hd you dont play them in hd automaticly and thats when u add &fmt=22
